@@7come11two now I have a marlin Olympic that I purchased new in the 90’s. Came with a match grade barrel. I just refurbished the whole thing. Looks and shoots really good. Nikon scope. Cut the stock and pinned it for adjustable cheek rest. Bipod. Made a rear monopod. Very tight groups at 100 yards.
I just bought a Lithgow la101 22lr. I used the Federal Auto Match to sight in the scope. On my third group of 5, I shot a .20 MOA at 50 yards. One hole. Since then, I tried Center-X, Midas +, Eley Match, SK Rifle Match, Federal HV Gold Medal and RWS R50. Most shot well, but not better than the 4 cents a round Federal. ( I just bout a case of it). Thanks for the videos. You do a nice job on them.
thanks for watching! i know its not the most accurate out there but it sure does make it worth it for the price like you said. i was just out shooting this weekend we finally had a good day, had a chance to take it out to 400. shot pretty well, federal target drops about 64 MOA at that distance lol
Fun Fact: CCI Green Tag, Pistol Match, and Standard Vel. all come off the same production line. CCI just tests some rounds off of a particular lot and call it one of the three. It's basically all the same. Even the bullets and advertised velocities are the same.
@@coreyd1474 No prob. BTW, have you considered reaming out the match chamber of the RPR to a Bentz chamber? Should help the feeding and extracting issues without hurting the accuracy too much. You seemed to have good luck with the Bentz chamber in the 10/22
@@defiantmopar na, IMO you shouldn't have to do THAT much work to a 300 dollar 22 barrel. i shimmed it and tried a few other things but it only got worse. i ended up sending both of these barrels back because they sucked so bad. lesson learned for buying shaw barrels.
Good to know that CCI standard is working well in a match chamber. CCI standard is my overall go to round and I've got a match barrel for my 457 coming in. Good info.
I really enjoyed your video. It was packed with valuable information for me. I am building my own 10/22, and your video answered a lot of questions for me.
As you did, I shot many different brands of ammo through both my Ruger Precision Rimfire and my Ruger American Rimfire rifles. A boresnake was used between different ammo brands and types. My guns fared best with Norma Match and Norma TAC22 ammo. Very best was a 8/10" group at 100 yds with the factory barrel. Keep working, true sub-moa is possible. I agree, videos showing a guy shooting groups are boring and a waste of time.
I’m a fan of Lapua rimfire ammo in my Ruger Precision rimfire rifle. I have found that the Lapua Pistol ammo works the best by far! Give this one a try. You won’t be disappointed. Thanks
yea the lapua stuff is normally as good as it gets. once you start getting in to the real expensive stuff like xact you need a specific rifle to shoot it well. but cx is always a good bet.
Pistol has a faster burning powder and tends to be more consistent in longer barrels. Biathlon ammo ,intended consistent cold weather shooting, is another one to try.
Another just plain great video. I watched your ammo comparison parts 1 and 2 about 10 times so far. This one is right on target too. Thank you Corey. Anyway, I get similar results to you with various ammo thru my 10/22 with the factory stainless pencil barrel. I shoot mostly off-hand, and like the light weight. My 10/22 cycles any ammo I throw at it - no I didn't try CCI Quiets. I do shoot Stingers now and then. Keep up the great work Corey - no music, no b.s., just useful information.
thanks for watching. i feel like i make videos i would like to watch. no douchy intro music or some stupid compilation of some ass hole's drive in to the range. just results.
Ammo preference is inherent in every gun, even more so in 22LR... I've been lucky in that 4 out of 6 target style rifles I own, absolutely love the old 80s Federal Lightning (the cheapest rounds ever sold)... I still have over 50 bricks left that were bought for $9.99/brick (a few on sale for $8.99)...
yes, love the RPRF. it got a lot of hate in the beginning but people quickly changed their tone once they realized how much more they'd have to spend on a rifle with similar accuracy and options
I just bought the RPR. I have not even shot it and have already put the Shaw 20" on it which was the plan from the start. The fit on my barrel is snug but not tight and in fact just like the factory barrel. I did notice that before I installed the barrel I fitted some round into the chamber and the 40 grain bulk ammos were tighter in the barrel to the point that I wouldnt push them in. The 36 grain could not only go all the way in but I could get them out with ease. Im looking forward to shooting it this week. Great video! I do like to watch people shoot but your choice to show the targets was great because of how you had it organized.
when you say couldn't get them all in, do you mean the rifle wouldn't go in to battery? or it just wasn't pressing the bullet against the lands and grooves? after all the experiences i've had with prefit barrels have been nothing but negative i am not a fan.
@1474 I mean that the 40gr were pressing against the land and grooves. The 36gr Federals I could put in, all the way, and eject them without pulling the lead out of the bullet. I have shot it since then. I havent shot any high dollar rounds through it yet. I shot Aguila, Federal, CCI Blazer, Rem Thunderbolt, Rem Golden boy, Wolf match, and some 40yr old Winchester Wildcat. It shot them all good except the rem gold boy. By good I mean less than MOA. I'm sure that it would probably do 1/2 MOA with good ammo. Some of the bullets went through the same hole so many times I thought I was missing the target. All this was at 50yds. I'm going to try 100 this next week. I also have some CCI standard and Norma tac coming in to try.
I have the same feeding and extraction issues with my ER Shaw barrel. Honestly, I am not at all sure it was worth the money or any more accurate than the factory barrel. I may put my factory tube back on.
they're both trash. i ended sending both of them back. the rprf barrel got to the point it wouldn't extract any rounds so i put the factory barrel back in. 10/22 i went with a summit precision barrel. not much better.
Try CCI 36gr HP varmit rounds out of that 10/22. I have the same setup with Magpul stock and tested 7 different rounds, and those came in at easy sub-moa
@@stratelite1337 lol. You don't know what you are talking about. At what point did he say a 1 inch group is 1 moa at 50yds? His app measures the group size, and figures moa, and he wrote it on the paper. So, that means his groups are half the size of what you are assuming they are
Love to see a video of the 3 and 400 yard shots you were talking about,,, my standard 40 year old 10/22 will put wolf brand thu same hole over and over at 50’ other ammo runs 1 and 2 inch spread
well unfortunately that will never happen. both of these barrels were such trash i sent them back and put the factory barrel back in the rprf (which i've since sold.) I went with a summit precision barrel for the 10/22. its ok, nothing special just looks cool since its carbon. i never shoot it anyway.
Was the old RPR barrel 18” long? If the Shaw barrel is 20”, that’s why you have increased speed. Same reason the RPR is faster than the 10-22. 2” longer barrel.
Aquila was always hit and miss with whatever I tried it in. It would shoot really tight groups but would throw fliers every 10 rounds or so. Every box, every batch, every gun. I don't know what the issue was but they always did it. They burn dirty too, lots more fouling and unburnt powder. Which is no big deal if they shot well. I want to love them but they just don't have the consistency down.
I may have missed it, but is this at 100 yards? If at 50 yards a 1 inch group is 2 M.O.A. Yeah, I just watched the beginning again. You're only at 50- so ..........2 MOA dude.
yea, neither one of these shoot very well. sending the 10/22 barrel back and replacing it will a KIDD barrel. not sure what i'm going to do about the rprf. probably put the factory barrel back on. lesson learned. still fun to shoot though
@@coreyd1474 I built up my recoil lug on my RPR with a strip of aluminum duct tape and reseated it in the chassis. Ever since, my RPR has been shooting at or under MOA at 50yds. I also tightened up the barrel which was loose from the factory. Also, I shoot predominantly subsonic ammo because it shoots it way better. Federal supressor black box, Aguila subsonic 40gr, and CCI subsonic. PMC Moderator shoots best over all
@@coreyd1474 Hey Corey Some of your comments in the video make me question your grasp of barrel harmonics: on a center fire rifle, you would load a bunch of different velocities and find an antinode, but of course 22LR doesn't give us this option. Just because one type of ammo has never shot well in your rifle doesn't mean it won't in a future rifle. What you need is a chronograph (you didn't note velocity on any of your tests so I've jumped to the conclusion that you don't have one): if a particular type of ammo is throwing inconsistent velocities, then ya it's an ammo problem (some of my bulk ammo has very roughly formed bullets which is basically 'the other problem' you can have with ammo) but otherwise, it's simply the fact that you're gun doesn't have a harmonic antinode at that velocity. Another way to do it is to find the most consistent ammo you can afford, and then put a tuner on the barrel (why does everyone assume the threaded barrel on these guys is for a supressor?!*#%!) to match the barrel harmonic to the ammo. Hope this helps you tighten up your groups.
I sounds like the headspace on you Shaw barrel is to small. Headspace on a 22 is the gap from the bolt face to the back of the chamber where the cartridge rim rests. The acceptable range of this gap is .042" to .049". You could get more head space by making a washer out of shim stock that is 0.001, 0.002 or 0.005 inches thick The washer would fit over the treads on the barrel and when you reinstall it in the receiver you will get more head space. Did you check the headspace when you installed the barrel. “Go” and “No-Go” gauges are used to accurately checking chamber length. You could also check with a gunsmith about adjusting the headspace. Right now you are trying to wear down the side of the bolt handle to get more head space.
Great video. I also have that Ruger bolt gun. My only question would be. You keep saying 1.0 and under groups are MOA or sub MOA. If you are shooting at 50 yards, wouldn't MOA and under be .5" and under?
FYI for those who like to tinker with their 10/22's....... I "assembled" a 10/22 with the Ruger OEM receiver, OEM bolt, BX trigger, Magnum Research 17' carbon fiber barrel and Bell and Carlson anschutz stock. At 50 yards I can put all 26 rounds out of my steel lips mag within the diameter of a dime with Remington gold bullet hollow points. I get the feeling I just got lucky with this combination. I also have a Kidd 10/22 with the 18" lightweight barrel and VictorCo Titan22 stock that actually shoots the gold bullets a little BETTER.
I actually live about 10 miles from Shaw. I don't own any of their products, but I know several people that do. I wouldn't really call them precision. As far as the 10/22 goes, the magnum research and kidd barrels are amazeballs. I almost went with a proof research barrel on the kidd, but I ultimately decided to make it 100% kidd. I guess I'll just have to build another one.......
My ER SHAW 18" tapered 10/22 barrel with stock trigger group BSA Sweet .22 3-9 X40 scope it shoots the 32 Grain CCI Stinger HP at .75 max but .45 & .55 . .35 these sub moa Groups at 50 yards I like the accuracy at 50 yards cant ask much for a $70 dollar scope and a $99 barrel .
Nice job Corey. However, at approximately 16:51 you state .98 group is under moa? One MOA at 50yds is .50, so a .98 group is actually almost two moa at 50yds. Other than that, very interesting, and informative vid.👍
I'm not sure why this is but all .22 rimfire's moa is measured at 50 yards, not exactly sure why or if that is true of all rimfires but it is what it is
I built up my recoil lug on my RPR with a strip of aluminum duct tape and reseated it in the chassis. Ever since, my RPR has been shooting at or under MOA at 50yds. i actually did the same with the recoil lug on this one as well but it actually made it shoot worse. i've since returned both of these barrels they were both absolute trash.
Corey D It’s terrible that ruger markets this rifle a precision rifle. Even worse, the damn 30moa rail on top. It’s like one engineer expected it to be a long range Rimfire, but no one mentioned that to the engineer who designed the barrel.
@@Warthog71 LOL yea i mean i think the price should be lower and the precision distinction removed for sure. its just marketed as a trainer for the RPR. although i will say i can hit a 12x20 silhouette somewhat consistently with it at 400 yards. maybe 2/10 or 3/10. Ive got an "in stock" notification for the cz457 precision trainer. This thing is just too wildly inconsistent.
Corey D that CZ is something I can’t wait to see you review. My AR22 16”inch and my AR22 7.5”shoot as good, and in some cases, more consistent. Volquardsen makes a barrel with the 1:9 twist. Thinking of doing a 10/22 build to shut up all those stinger dingers!
@@Warthog71 Probably a while before they're back in stock. After i sent that kidd barrel back (for the 10/22) i put a summit carbon barrel on it and it wasn't much better. Lesson learned, go with some proven like shilen, kidd, or volquartzen.
Have exact set up for both rifles. I agree with the Shaw on the RPR. The stock barrel is fine. But for the 10/22 I love that Shaw. Also have a Kidd 18” fluted SS that I think is a touch more accurate but idk
Hi again, Corey!...I have to ask you: Is the Bergara .22 bolt with their carbon barrel still your favorite, or most accurate, .22 bolt gun? (I remember how you raved about it's accuracy in your video a while back...) Or.... do you have a new fav? Are you planning on reviewing a Vudoo .22? I know they are damn pricey...😳 Robert Pierson Dakota Dunes, SD
I agree that Green Tag is not that great, to put it nicely. Some of those speeds you mention are likely to be an issue going further out. 1126 is the point where things go sonic and that shift back does negative things to our accuracy. I've got a Shaw on my 10-22 as well and CCI SV is what I enjoy shooting the most and few higher dollar ammos do as well, or better, to include that Green Tag. SK Long Range Match is an ammo worth considering. SK Long Range Match is the only thing that consistently shoots a bit smaller groups through my .22s to the point where it is statistically significant. I have found 10lb for the action screw works best on my 10-22.
anyone that shoots "long range" 22lr knows that the transonic phase is just a myth. there is no real data to prove it has any negative effect on accuracy and in fact its just there opposite. all the data suggest there is NO destabilization. stop listening to the fudds.
Thanks for another great review. Succinct, down to earth, covers a lot of ground. I don't usually hear about 10/22s being ammo finicky even bone stock, though sometimes I hear about one needing a new or premium extractor. It might be worth poking around in the receiver looking for anything rough, high spot, or rubbing. I'm guessing you've got the Kidd extractor as part of the bolt. Did you get the Kidd guide rod? Mine runs flawlessly anything but the worst bulk with squibs. And the new Sellier & Bellot Club. Maybe it was the nose shape on that ammo. I'm using the Feddersen receiver and Kidd internals.
Thats a shame it doesnt like to extract the cci standard velocity. That was by far the most accurate ammo and its very affordable. I was thinking about upgrading my barrel but i dont want to have an exctraction problem. Thanks for the video
well i'd take this with a grain of salt. i didn't use any gunsmithing tools so i'm sure with proper head spacing and go/no go gauges you will have better luck.
Hello again! In Ohio myself. Liked your presentation on the comparison in ammo. I just sold my 10/22 and bought the RPR. My 10/22 placed rounds about like yours, hoping to get better results from the RPR with SK Biathlon. Would like hear what you think if you try this ammo through your RPR. It is a popular round where I shoot matches.
Great video. I can only go out to 100. The best round for me at 50 and 100 is CCI Suppressor. At 100 yards, If I'm doing everything right, I can a hole the size of a dime. With a 25x scope, I can watch the rounds flying through the air, come into focus and hit the target. Standard velocity is a close second. Some rounds that shoot well at 100, suck at 50. Some rounds do amazing at 50 but lose accuracy at 50.
@@coreyd1474 I guess, I missed it, but what is the issue with stingers? I mostly shoot off hand, so I am definitely not shooting as accurately as you. just dont want to mess up my barrel. I am running a CF Volquartsen barrel on a 10/22 takedown
@@blahblahblahblech the case is a little longer on the stingers so if you have a true match chamber they won't fit. however the ruger does NOT have a true match chamber. people just like to complain on the internet.
Good videos man. It’s pretty funny how many guys are setting up the Diamondback Tac, because it makes sense for the $ and performance expected on the Ruger Precision right? Only thing I can add, and it’s a big one, is that every rifle is different and production line types WILL have variations to Ogive/headspace which WILL determine poor, good, or great performance. If people are utilizing .22 to enter the precision niche, get to know the value of understanding not only ballistics but also how rifle construction around ballistics is equally important. Thanks again, and appreciate the time and $ you spent on all the different ammo to help gain a starting point. 🍻
LOVE the Ruger Precision Rimfire platform, got mine in .17 HRM and it's just the little baby rimfire / cheap version of a .300 PRC or something... flat as hell, really predictable and reliable, just overall FUN to shoot. Of all the guns I have, it's kinda strange to say that my I am BY FAR the most confident when I pick up my .17 HMR RPR. When you factor in the cost (it's many times cheaper than the rest of my guns) it's just a no-brainer. If you all have a few hundred bucks burning a hole in your pocket - buy one of these. You won't be disappointed (likewise, if you haven't fired .17 HMR before, DO IT!)
yea 17 is a fun caliber for sure. only down side is its right on the edge for having to wear hearing protection and there isn't many options for ammo out there.
@@coreyd1474 It's loud for sure, but usually downrange due to its ballistics and the round itself breaking the sound barrier. I do wear ear protection with it... however as far as availability goes, I've never had any issues. I got a Federal black pack of 250 rds for $38 at a gun show recently (.17 at a gun show?!) They're bolt action obviously, so you don't exactly eat them up.
Are you measuring these center to center? Are you using software or calipers? I am looking at your 1.54" group where the wind kicked up and hard to imagine it's that big, there are 3 touching and 2 touching nearby a group like that on my paper is 3/4"
@@coreyd1474 Yes true, I do the same, except on some occasion. Another great video Corey, after watching the Bergara review I went back to see if a semi auto will ever shoot with a bolt gun. I have a Ruger Competition 10/22 that has done well with the KYL targets (my own targets...lol) and I’m looking to upgrade. I already have a Bergara HMR B14 in 308 so I know the quality of their guns but I also have a Volquartsen LLV 22 pistol which makes me look like a much better shot than I really am. My question is, would a top quality semi auto ever shoot with an equal quality bolt gun? I’ve watched enough competitions to see with a 60 second time limit a semi auto has an advantage if it can keep up with the accuracy of a bolt action. Thanks again for all the info.
i think there are a few semi autos that will shoot well BUT the issue you run into with them is reliability. sure you can clear a stage faster WHEN it runs well, until you get that misfeed and you spend 20 seconds clearing a stove pipe or whatever. my b14r had zero issues what so ever.
Good point on the reliability and also the bolt action shoots much cleaner. I did find a B14r at a good price yesterday and rather than choose which one I’m more apt to own both😂 Thanks for the info and the videos.

Corey D Contrary to opinions, CZ has produced some lemons just like everyone else. I had a 452 that absolutely would not shoot any ammo accurately. I sent it back to CZ and the service rep said they had issues with the 452 platform and sent me a new rifle. It shot better but it was nothing to brag about. Other CZs that I own shoot very well. Anyone can produce a turd from time to time.
the RPRF shot SK rifle match pretty well i'm probably going to get some more at some point and run it through the 10/22. I use to i haven't for a while. now i just mostly shoot clays in the back yard.
13:41 I recently sold my remaining Green Tag for 1/2 price just to get it gone. CCi really ticked me off with that waste of money. I can understand an ammo not liking one barrel compared to another but when an ammo *costs $20/100 + tax* but does poorly in everything, I probably won't buy from that company again for several years.
Guys--an "off-the-rack" Savage FV-SR will shoot like this with various brands of ammo. Mine certainly does. Less than $300 in the rifle and scope. A fifties era Winchester Model 52 shoots smaller groups out-of-the box. I have owned five Ruger 10-22s and all of them were jammamatics. Do any of them actually work??
.22 rimfire guns--whether pistol or rifle--are subject to the ammunition all of us are forced to put up with to say nothing of the "personality of the individual firearm. Some shoot well with a brand of ammo which does not work well in other's guns. When you find ammunition which shoots ell in YOUR firearm--write down the "lot number" off the inside of the end flap on the box. Try to find this same lot number and purchase all you can afford. As long as you use this same lot number you can count on your groups.
Good video only complaint would be hold phone/camera steady. And don’t worry about stingers. Never found them really accurate. Fun to shoot if you’re not looking for accuracy.
Just replaced a Shaw heavy target barrel with a Kidd on my 10/22. The Shaw’s normal was 1” to 1-1/4” groups at 50 yards with Lapua Center-X. Completely unsatisfactory for KYL competition. The Kidd barrel, after about 500 rounds, has group sizes half the Shaw’s, with Eley Target, a much less expensive round.

Yea I ended up sending both of these barrels back. The one on the rprf got to the point where it wouldn't extract a single round. No way for a barrel to be that cost almost as much as the gun. The factory barrel in this is considerably better should have never messed with it

😊 thanks good entertainment...find a round that gives you a small standard deviation and then spend $15 and buy a limb saver barrel tuner and try that… Every barrel is different because of the chambering and resonance.your best round in your RPR will not shoot good in the guy who’s shooting beside you RPR. There is also a trick with aluminum tape to bed the recoil lug in your RPR. @@coreyd1474 ...my grandson has the RPRF and I played with it for a long time before it started to shoot consistently...the target rifles i use have tuners machined into the barrel. I use lead only bullets under 1100 ft/sec, clean only with a dry swab, use the limbsaver, and i sort the ammo by rim thickness...alot of extra work but I do shoot very good groups on occasion. I am 70 now so the groups aren't what they used to be....but I did manage to get a couple of groupings under 1/4" at 100M this year...I have access to a 100M indoor/underground range once a week and I impressed all my buddies with how well the ruger is shooting. Because of the inconsistent nature of the ammo that is the biggest battle...Hope all goes well and keep us updated!
Your groups look much smaller to me than what you have wrote down on the targets. @@coreyd1474 At 8:05 you point to the top left group and says its point .5 MOA. See that group looks like a quarter inch group to me. A quarter inch equals 1/2 MOA at 50yds. You wrote down the MOA size of your groups and everyone is thinking you wrote down the size of your group in inches....
@@coreyd1474 Thanks for the reply. I think the ballistic app must be giving measurements in MOA. That is why your half inch groups are measuring about 1.xx. Both of those rifles are shooting very well.

0.5 inches at 50 yards IS 1 MOA. 1 MOA = 1 inch at 100 yards, so 1/2 inch at 50 yards is 1 MOA. 2 inches at 200 yards is also 1 MOA. I would guess its a limitation on the ammo or the shooter, not the gun.

i measure everything with the ballistic-x app. so i dunno i hear a lot of people talking about what you just said but i guess i don't know.
You are correct, at 50 yards MOA would be slightly less than .50". A 1" group at 50 yards would be 2 MOA.

This video makes me feel really good about my stock RPR, with cci SV my groups look very similar to yours with the shaw barrel!
yes, love the RPRF. it got a lot of hate in the beginning but people quickly changed their tone once they realized how much more they'd have to spend on a rifle with similar accuracy and options
Nice video! I like the format with targets. in my own experience, some ammo needs at least 25 rounds of fouling before u get correct groupings.
yea agree. 22 takes a ton of fowling before it zeros itself out. i just didn't have enough time or ammo do that
I have the same feeding and extraction issues with my ER Shaw barrel.
Thanks again...it’s difficult to know whether a new trigger pack, new barrel, etc is worth the price. This helps.
for the 10/22 a new trigger is a MUST. barrel eh depends on how much you wanna spend really but for sure a trigger.
Excellent video. Learned a few things and it's much appreciated.

Was the old RPR barrel 18” long? If the Shaw barrel is 20”, that’s why you have increased speed. Same reason the RPR is faster than the 10-22. 2” longer barrel.
yea the factory barrel on the rprf is 18"
I though 22LR starts to slow after 18 inches.
@@coreyd1474 Hey Corey
Some of your comments in the video make me question your grasp of barrel harmonics: on a center fire rifle, you would load a bunch of different velocities and find an antinode, but of course 22LR doesn't give us this option.
Corey D Hes not talking criticizing your accuracy hes talking about the fact that you keep calling 2 moa groups 1 moa groups.

@@larryfoster2227 the comment is from at some point in the video he misspoke and I think he called 1" at 50 moa
Right now you are trying to wear down the side of the bolt handle to get more head space.
yea just a quick search for a go no go gauge for a 22 no way in hell i'm spending 50 bucks for that. may give it a small shim or something.
Great video. I also have that Ruger bolt gun. My only question would be. You keep saying 1.0 and under groups are MOA or sub MOA. If you are shooting at 50 yards, wouldn't MOA and under be .5" and under?
if you'd looked at the first line in the video description you'd answer your own question.

Yes it sure it. so far i've got about 10k plus rounds through it with zero FTE. I did end up replacing the trigger though i put a triggertech in it.

It is a popular round where I shoot matches.
wouldn't mind trying it at some point, i know its pretty pricey
Great video. I can only go out to 100. The best round for me at 50 and 100 is CCI Suppressor. At 100 yards, If I'm doing everything right, I can a hole the size of a dime. With a 25x scope, I can watch the rounds flying through the air, come into focus and hit the target. Standard velocity is a close second. Some rounds that shoot well at 100, suck at 50. Some rounds do amazing at 50 but lose accuracy at 50.
It is pretty neat watching the rounds fly and seeing how spin drift affects a 22 at about 200 yards

I got a Federal black pack of 250 rds for $38 at a gun show recently (.17 at a gun show?!)
They're bolt action obviously, so you don't exactly eat them up.
Are you measuring these center to center? Are you using software or calipers? I am looking at your 1.54" group where the wind kicked up and hard to imagine it's that big, there are 3 touching and 2 touching nearby a group like that on my paper is 3/4"
i find the best way for mass groups like this is just to measure with calipers, using software takes FORE EV ER. so i stopped lol
@@coreyd1474 Yes true, I do the same, except on some occasion. Anyway, I know this video was some time ago, did you figure out why you have such crazy jumps from 0.5" to nearly 2" groups with same ammo?
@@lutherprice637 ESPECIALLY in the winter time when its as cold as it is here if they have any oil on them what so ever they really have issues. i just sold my b14r and i'm kinda kicking myself for it.
You’ll get over that😂 and you still have your Tika. I need to move a few to make room especially if I can find the B14r in 17hmr. I’m going to the gun store to make arrangements for shipping today, just like Christmas.

did you have to shim it at all? mine got to the point where it wouldn't extract any rounds of any type and obviously you can see the accuracy was lacking. the sunshade came with the scope.

Say Corey....what happened to your CZ 457.? Dump it or keep it ? I'm a big .22 fan and like the way you get right to your targets. Some shooting the gun is ok, but most vids are just too much. Second time thru this vid. You do your barrel acclamation shots then get to groups. Correct. Keep doin your ammo testing. We luv that oit here. Rimfire Central raves about the RPRR. Thanks again.... ✌
Dumped the cz brother it was just bad or a lemon but the rprf shoots circles around it! Thanks for the feedback man much appreciated
I got my 10/22 Percision rifle i shot just about every 22 shells really good. The best out of them was Sk 22 I’m going with . Do you shot trap ?
the RPRF shot SK rifle match pretty well i'm probably going to get some more at some point and run it through the 10/22.

@@coreyd1474 Ya' gotta love those *_Federal Target Match_*
Guys--an "off-the-rack" Savage FV-SR will shoot like this with various brands of ammo. Mine certainly does. Less than $300 in the rifle and scope. A fifties era Winchester Model 52 shoots smaller groups out-of-the box. I have owned five Ruger 10-22s and all of them were jammamatics. Do any of them actually work??
no. not a single one of them is reliable no matter how expensive.
.22 rimfire guns--whether pistol or rifle--are subject to the ammunition all of us are forced to put up with to say nothing of the "personality of the individual firearm. Some shoot well with a brand of ammo which does not work well in other's guns. When you find ammunition which shoots ell in YOUR firearm--write down the "lot number" off the inside of the end flap on the box. Try to find this same lot number and purchase all you can afford. As long as you use this same lot number you can count on your groups.
good . about time some one knows what accuracy is. 50 --- 100 yard bench rest, it takes a good rifle and good 22 lr rounds to play the game. Thank you

Does the Precision Rimfire have the 30MOA rail? What height rings are needed with the diamonback tactical 6-24?
i think its 20 moa but i'd have to look up the specs. the rings were in the ballpark of 1.12"
Have you used Kidd barrels? Interested to know how they compare to ER Shaw on the 10/22.
no i have not. but i'm sure they're just as good.

Corey: Nice job on the video. I am an old dude, I have not shot match for about 50 years and a lot has changed. I have one comment regarding your choice of barrel, if I understand what you said correctly, "why would anyone purchase a barrel which a live round could not be ejected?"
Maybe I am not understanding something, but that sounds like a really unsafe choice. Please comment. (note: not as unsafe as the dude I saw placing his barrel down in the grass,...)
the round doesn't extract because with the "match" chamber it jams the round against the lands and grooves. its annoying if i'm honest

What an eye opener! Sorta disappointing too. I do have 2 boxes of the Federal ammo that seems to shoot well for you. Have to see how it likes my 10/22.
i like 17 for sure but it has a few down sides. There isn't a huge variety of ammo to try so if it doesn't shoot well with a certain brand your kind of screwed and its almost to the point you need hearing pro. but other than that .17 is great, all of the ones i've had shot well.
Should slap a kidd or fedderson barrel on that 1022. Plus get the spike for that titan

its just very slightly off. but if it touches in reality it won't create issues but a lot of fudds will say it does. best to just avoid it if you can.
