    My heart was ponding when you first fired her up with the noise she was making, I thought the worst 😳
    But all looking good and sounding fine, I’ve just got myself some side panel emblems that I’m going to see if I can bring back to their forma glory.
    Keep the good work going and I’m already looking for the next installment

      Cheers Tonkie, yes I heard the noise too. Turns out it was the center bolt that holds the generator rotor in place. The old one was damaged so put my own in. The head was thicker that the original and was scrapping on the inside of the engine cover. Skimmed a little off, all sorted now.

    Sound good. I replate my bolts with my zinc plating kit.

      yes I have a setup that wasnt very successful but am looking to get it up and going again and try to make some changes to get better results.

      @@markxtinkering Have had good results, proprietary chemicals and passivates. Main thing is of course to clinically clean the parts and not drag in or drag out chemicals. I use a cheap eBay psu to get 140mA per square inch current foe 20-30 mins at 25C and filter my solution regular. see some results on my channel. Z500 stuff got done last year I am slowly posting it here. If you need any help please ask.

    It can take up 20 mins to bleed the oil lines i pumped oil in to the crank bearings and pistons thats on my t500j when it was ticking over i pulled the oil pump lever forward to let more oil flow

    • @markxtinkering
      @markxtinkering  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeh I was thinking it might take some time to pump through, but due to spending so much money rebuilding the engine, I really didnt want to risk it. Still running premix just for now, but its not on its wheels yet so for now that will do.
      Thanks for watching,
      Cheers, Mark

    Hello again, you’ve helped me in the past. im now at the point of firing my gt185 up, she ran on one cylinder for a bit, (new condenser faulty!) anyway, sorted. My issue is the oil pump, i bled the line from tank to pump, i syringed the oil lines, im now fearful of running it in case the oil isnt feeding. The manual says run it at 2000 revs for quite a while to get the oil flowing, but i cant bring myself to use that method! Did u get it working ok? How can you tell the oil is flowing? I dont want to destroy all this work.
    Thanks,
    Rob

      Hey Rob, totally understand your situation because I was thinking the same thing. I have approached it like this, we know roughly how much smoke comes out the exhaust when using premix, say 40:1. If you run a bit of that through the bike initially your covered even if the pump isn't working. If you start getting excessive smoke from the pipes when it's at operating temp, you would have to assume it's getting more oil that the premix. It will smoke it's arse off when you ride it too. You could put a bit of straight fuel in on top of the premix and if it still smokes, you might be ok to run straight fuel from there.
      As long as it smokes your ok. It will clear up as you dilute the premix, but then it's a matter of keeping an eye on it. Check if the oil tank is going down, it will be slow though.
      Your safe if you run premix then dial it back as you feel confident.
      This is just advise, it's up to you if you try any of it. Hope it helps, good luck, have fun 👍👍

    Where have you been getting the new parts? Having a hard time finding parts I need.

      Hey Trevor, try partzilla or Robinson foundry, wemoto, cruising image to name a few. Maybe just try good ol google search/shopping, or image and see what company comes up. If your stuck let me know what part and I will try to remember where I got mine.
      Good luck, cheers. Mark

    How much oil did you put in?

    • @markxtinkering
      @markxtinkering  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Jack, if your wondering how much 2stroke I put in? To prime the lines I just went unit they were full and a touch more. The oil tank as about half full just in case it poured out from somewhere. The engine transmission had whatever the service manual said (it's been a while since I did that job) and the side cover also has the amount. I used 10W30 engine oil in there.
      Hope that helps?
      Cheers, Mark

      @@markxtinkering do you still have the bike?

    • @markxtinkering
      @markxtinkering  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes Jack, still have it and need to finish it off by painting the tank, fitting a few last bits including the clutch cable (not sure how well that works yet), sorting a few bugs and doing a first ride. Might be good for another video or 2. Lots on my plate right now but stay tuned because I'm getting itchy to get back on it 👍
