  • The new Mitsubishi Mirage Hatchback is a compact city car that’s affordable to run, stuffed with standard kit, and boasts comfy seats and a good amount of interior space.
Value for money is the phrase of the day here, just as it is in the supermini sector in general. The Mirage doesn’t cost anything to tax, and emits under 100g/km of CO2 - ideal for the green-minded among you.
However, it faces stiff competition in a market brimming with fun-loving, trendy small city cars. OSV takes a closer look at what it’s all about with our 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage Hatchback review.

I just don't understand why most reviews for this little car are negative. Are they actually comparing it to sports car? Nice review.

Most reviews are biased towards the so called fashionable and popular brands, and this "sheep will follow" attitude is engrained in our culture. Nobody likes to be seen as different or having an alternative opinion to the accepted norm, and thats with everything in this country. You end up with the population being brainwashed to all think the same. If you stand out from the crowd, you are made to feel like there is something wrong with you. Imagine if you lived on one of these new housing developments and everyone has fords, BMWs, VW etc on the drive, and you get this Mirage. What WILL the neighbours think ? People here are addicted to showing off certain labels and badges, as if it somehow makes them a better person than someone who doesnt buy into that self indulgent attention seeking nonsense.

Nice review. So refreshing to hear an honest opinion about this little runabout. They’re comfortable, very well equipped, durable & reliable plus, they have one hell of a warranty both for the engine & rust perforation. Frankly they’re quite fun to drive once you learn how to wring the best out of them & the MPGs are stellar.

@@OsvUkVehicleSupply The Mirage will do about 125 mph with the manual variant but that would be the absolute top speed. You would need the autobahn for that.

I am not a fan of anything seen as "on trend". If its popular, I do the opposite. I hate being part of the sheep culture in Britain and much prefer to be an individual when it comes to choices in life. Im never influenced by popular opinion, so why are so many people afraid to stand out from the crowd ? Self confidence and the desire to fit in seems to make them feel more secure in themselves. Afraid of what others think about their hair, clothes, house, car, the list is endless so they adopt identical lifestyles and generally accepted tastes in brands and lifestyle choices. What a bland and soulless existence. I like this car, first review ive seen. Its different than the usual suspects, thats why I like it. I imagine it will be a reliable car and a leather interior is impressive for a car in this segment. Go on everybody, go your own way, never mind what everyone else thinks.

Yes but it wont be a problem for current owners. The dealers stock and parts wont just vanish overnight. Parts will be imported as they are already so whats the difference ? The company isn't going bust ! They wont leave everyone high and dry, its rumoured a big name group will take over existing operations to service the customer base. Im hoping to get a Mitsubishi in a couple of years, it doesn't put me off in the slightest. Tough reliable cars built for long term ownership.
