Happy New Year! I would appreciate it if you could check out *FROM HOME (REARRANGED VERSION) by NCT U* . NCT is a South Korean boy group consisting of members from all around the world. They have some of the best vocalists in the K-Pop industry along with their labelmates EXO (I highly recommend them too)! They go through intense vocal and dance training before they debut and you can tell how hard they work just from the quality of their performances. Their song From Home is a 90's R&B ballad sung in 4 languages! There is the original From Home MV, their live performance of the rearranged version at MAMA 2020, and the MV for the rearranged version which is the same audio from their live performance. The MVs are less likely to be copyrighted compared to their MAMA performance but the rearranged version MV is still live vocals. I highly recommend checking out both the original MV and the rearranged version MV! This song is very meaningful to the members and fans as they look back at their roots and their journey starting from their home to where & who they are today. I really hope you check them out! Their vocals are unbelievable! Thank you!

@@jjmail1971 Thank you for this. I'm a big fan of both Aurora and Dylan, but I'd never seen this before. Aurora is very much of the present, but I feel like she would have fit right in with Joni Mitchell, and Judy Collins in the 60s as well.

Aurora said in a tv interview that the creativ process in making songs and having the control to do what ever you want
is liberating, but ones you perform the song live on stage it's out of your hands. You as an artist isn't important anymore.
it's all about the song and she is just a tool, a vessel to the song.
It comes to her from somewhere and goes through her out to us all. That's why she is so in the moment.

She rips you open and heals you at the same time. Who does that? She's as vulnerable as finely spun glass and as strong as high carbon steel. A siren in the form of a Viking wood nymph. Resistance is futile.

  • @samanthapeterson1068
    @samanthapeterson1068 3 ปีที่แล้ว +64

The comment made about the difference of listening to her sing and watching her sing and perform is so spot on for me. She must know that having both skills gives people everything they could want. There's no way out, not even closing your eyes will disconnect from the feelings she's conveying, only through. And it seems that she needs the physicality of her performances just as much as us because she's literally bursting with emotion and energy.
💫Wonderful reaction, thank you. And a Happy New Years to you as well! 💞

I always enjoy watching reactions to artists I love, especially Aurora, but it seems that many vocal coaches miss the emotional impact of a song bc your focus is only the vocal technique. I’ve learned to adjust my expectations accordingly, but I hope you guys go back on your own and enjoy the song as a whole, especially with artists like Aurora.

Nice reaction, first time someone mention the different between see her singing and just listen to her. I get same experience with the Nidarsdomen concert what is a different experience listen in the car or see her singing. She is a story Tell person what can bring everybody who wants into their own journey. The story is open so everybody get his own impression. For me the song is about help someone to die who has no chance to get better and only pain waiting rest of his life. But there is other interpretation as well. Happy new Year

Great and very insightful reaction! In my opinion Aurora is the whole package: unique and beautiful voice, songwriter/poet, and performer, with much to say! I strongly recommend reactions to more of her live performances, where she takes each of her songs to another level! For instance, "Infections of a Different Kind" and "The Seed" from the HAIK 2019 concert she held in a forest; or "It Happened Quiet," "Through the Eyes of a Child," "Little Boy in the Grass" or "Lucky" from the Nidarosdomen Christmas Concert she gave in a cathedral with orchestral ensemble and choir; and the high-energy KEXP concert in Iceland, where she sings "Churchyard" and "All is Soft Inside!" These are just a few suggestions -- at age 24, she already has quite an impressive repertoire

she writes a lot about things she sees in the world, some good and some bad.. I think what we see is her hugely profound empathy with whatever it was that inspired her to write the song. Because of that, it's easy to feel that it's her pulling from her own experience, but I don't think that's it. She literally lives it as she channels the emotion through herself. It's awe-inspiring, profoundly moving, and more than a little bit addictive.

    O. Martin is a part of the team that produces her music. He has worked with her since she was 16 years old. Even cowritten some of her songs, as well as some of Sigrid's songs.. Etc.. The industry is very small in Norway. But some of the best talent comes out of the city of Bergen. Which is the largest city on the west coast. O. Martin also plays in a band and have his own solo work. Producing is his main thing though.

This metaphor works better for me: Aurora is the humankind in our dying culture. The male figure is the earth. The gun is some mass extinction caused by climate change or some other crisis that's lined up to wipe out this unsustainable culture. Humankind or some better version of it (Aurora again) will rise from the ashes.

apparently murder songs are a thing in norway.
here is another excellent one, "silencer" by susanne sundfor. the lyrics dark, the sound bright
Here I stand, with the gun in my hand
Waiting for the water to calm
    The moonlight can barely paint
An aquarelle of coral blue and red
Like the colours of your lover's pretty eyes and hair
    [Verse 2]
Life is just a story to tell
Yours had an unfortunate end, denial, denial
Yet no one heard you but the stars
Through the rain of the sprinklers, a bullet pierced your heart
    [Instrumental Bridge]
    Oh oh la la
    Oh oh la la
    [Outro]
    Your cries and your curses
    Could not protrude
    From the bottom

Whenever you have the chance you should watch and a clip from a science fiction TV show that used this song for the scene. I think it makes that scene and song combination 1000 times better. For short context, in the scene the woman’s husband from the future kills her as the present version of himself watches. Kinda confusing I know. You just have to watch it it’s so sadly beautiful.

It is not my favourite of her concerts, but the one from Nidarosdomen cathedral doesn't necessitate having your eyes open. For that one you can just let yourself float away on the wings of musical storytelling. Oh, and happy new year !

PLZZZ give us a reaction to A Different Kind Of Human. You might think she’s just an angsty indie singer but she literally wrote the best pop album of the decade!!! You’d love it. Please react :)

You really should check out THE FIRST TAKE channel. The channel concept is that every invited singer is given one chance to do a live recording. Success or not depends on them. Unedited raw voice and only the first take counts.
    I suggest:
・Lisa - Homura (from movie that has grossed $313.7 million and still counting)
    ・The Gospellers - Hitori (ゴスペラーズ - ひとり)
    ・Wacci - Tarinai (足りない)
    ・Little Glee Monster - ECHO
or try one of the 3 most watched videos (make sure to turn on the subtitles)🔥

Whenever you have the chance you should watch and a clip from a science fiction TV show, named The Flash, that used this song for the scene. I think it makes that scene and song combination 1000 times better. For short context, in the scene the woman’s husband from the future kills her as the present version of himself watches. Kinda confusing I know. You just have to watch it it’s so sadly beautiful. th-cam.com/video/ImG2RS2A8wQ/w-d-xo.html
