I stumbled on this by accident and I'm glad I did.
Loved the pacing! Tension built up to the end in quite a remarkable way. At the end I was literally on the edge of my seat. Acting was good, particularly the older man. His portrayal of a psychopathic megalomaniac was chilling. I would like to see more of his work.
I would have loved to see ep. 2 but you've moved on apparently. I can see why this effort would open some doors.

Joseph Strider but you missed the part where she blames him just for "following"... i think it's on par, women/people that don't understand survival, don't understand why jason would stay afterwards, yet they know not the circumstances, sometimes you just can't "walk away" gotta wait for the right opportunity... gotta wait for the next episode, maybe it will click and she'll turn the gun and shoot the ringleader... doubtful because then there wouldn't be a "bad guy" if she shot him (not that in shtf there won't be a hundred more like him beyond the gate, but "they are not killers" so chances are she'll put the gun on him, they will take their packs and constantly be on the run as he hunts them down
Yea, that part got me too. Bad script writting. Isnt 1st one I seen like that though either. Throws the whole show off kilter. Prolly wont follow up to watch others.

I plan on filming a series this October and I'm using a Nikon Coolpix L840 but it doesn't look as good as every other camera I see being used. Do you think it would still go well though?
The thing with making films is that you're always improving. So even though the shots wont look 'nice' quality wise, you'll be picking up techniques and stuff constantly. So yeah, of course it will go well man, just plan loads and you'll be fine dude

mark griffith completely agree dude. I skimped out on the script a bit, was pretty much one guy doing all this within a year so had to make some cut backs. that's literally my least favourite part of this project. appreciate the view and feedback. Hopefully I can improve my writing a bit more
He comes up on the bad guy , and your yelling shoot him shoot , an then the snake gets to talk , big mistake , thought it was well done .

I find storylines that deal with different social interaction are enjoyable, I am tired of zombies and tons of Marauding psychopaths.... when SHTF we will all be tested and nature will decide… in the end...yes u will have those that will kill to acquire goods.. it there are a lot of us out there that are prepping and We will survive , for a while...
Daily life is a continuing disaster. Survival has no glamour for people from developing countries.

First of all I’ve read some of the reviews and have seen that they are a mixed bag of likes and dislikes. Yes this short has a few flaws but overall I like it. I thought that the acting was better that several others that I’ve seen, and too, the story is fairly good so far. One issue that I do have (and it basically goes for most of the “apocalyptic” shorts that I’ve seen), is clean clothes. I’m not just picking on this film because most every short has made this mistake (after a day of savaging and killing do folk in the after go down to the local washeteria every evening?)
Anyway, I’d actually like to see a 2nd part to this.

This could have been tightened up a good deal with no loss of storytelling. Agree with others that these folks are all too clean. We have no clue what "the event" was, but that should very much inform what these people want and how they behave, e.g. what does the bearded man expect to be at the top of? There doesn't appear to be much of anything to be boss of...

This has so much going for it! Excellent cinematography, beautiful music, decent acting, compelling scenarios - scripting could be beefed up a bit, but I feel like this series will only improve with more episodes. Can't wait to see what comes next!

I enjoyed the story but there was this screaming contradiction which was the leader of the two men's stated desire to build a better world yet he was seemingly trying to annihilate just about everyone. He had the megalomaniacal visage of himself being looked up to as the supreme leader but, for that he would need people to be his audience of adherents.

Storyline good and believable. Camera work is good. My observations are that: 1) All far to clean. 2) Their language is far to polite. 3) They would not have to explain this is "how things are now" as it would have been obvious to anyone who has been through it. 4) Pity would be in very short supply. 5) She would not complain "I do not know where to go" as she is obviously just moving around after 10(?) month's. 6) The bearded leader did not come across as credible, there would be no explanation or justifying, he would just kill. 7) After 10 (?) months death/killing would be nothing. 8) Despite my comments I enjoyed the premise of the film and the film itself. :-)

Well. I kept watching cause the screenplay especially in the beginning looked really creative. Almost HYW niveau. But this here is a good example of having great screenplay good fx timing great acting good costumes but a bad boring to death story..... Thex Phil

Thank you for your reply. Normally I don't do this reply-replies... but u got me there my mistake. Should have been more specific. When we talk about a story, then we talk about a written idea of what should happen in the movie. Actions... who is involved whats the story telling or whats the message for the viewer.....a screenplay often is confused with the actual written story. A screenplay is also written but it can be an adaption to the story. A screenplay is not handling the story. It describes what u actually see on the telli. People...what costumes...what guns...expressions..*faces* etc. and most important...camera angles....which scene will be recorded from where. For example>Ext. Girl 1, afraid of guy 2 aiming a gun at her. hands shaking, no movement, tears, 2 rec's> diagonal f. left front moving, diagonal f. right back still... this example was related to ur film at 8:31. That's why I said, in my opinion the screenplay is really really good. I like it very much. Also the acting. Even the set up of her hair in the beginning doesn't matter if it was fixed by purpose like that or if it was just a coincidence. It really fits to the scene. It's perfect. Or 5:57 the guy with the gray hair...amazing acting..sentence on the point! on the other hand the other guy almost laughing...otherwise it would be a perfect scene.... one more thing if I may... at 7:12. The guy comes out with a brand new HK G36 (was my weapon in the army, that's why I noticed) so anyways, he comes out with a brand new G36. Why. If u look at the scene, all the old brick buildings from the 30 or 40's. Plus its a post apocalyptic scenario... no offense but in my opinion a Lee Enfield or even a AK47 would fit the scene much better. So all in all I like the acting. From the guy with the grey hairs the most. He does a really great job there...The recs ar also very well. But call me stupid or an idiot but I don't get the point of the whole film... I had maybe 2 questions in the beginning but in the end I had 5 or more. So why are they hunting her, why Jason is a member of there group *other 2 mans* and then they try to kill him, why the guy with grey hairs killed all the students in the university.....that's why I meant.... If the viewer don't understand important key/message points than ... Thex Phil

I didn't had the feeling that u added to much. I would rather like to see some more. Example: There was a rumor that someone in the university is in possession of a map (UK) which contains a safe area in the north of the country with food,shelter and military equipment etc. The 3 guys taking over the school to find the map. killing everybody. One girl is able to flee. They believe she must have the map. Hunting her... then later..at 14:10 for example....Guy is asking>>Where is the map. She> I don't have it etc... at 15:18 Jason is screaming>> leave her alone. She does not have the map...I have it...So it turns out when the 3 guys searched the school that Jason found the map but decided to hide it from the 2 other guys.... plus happy end... Jason and the girl walking up to the north to find the safe zone. They find it. End of the film could be a (drone fly 360 around them) showing the whole safe zone on the north coast *sea view* with both of them standing right in the middle of it.... but truly it's your story not mine... Thank you

Why the clicky sound at 8:00 it's not like he racked the weapon just then. That shit happens in all movies and pisses me off. Or they will rack it when leaving an area and then again when they have an encounter. Get it fucking straight, it's either ready to go or not. Simply bringing it on target generates no sound.
