Woodstock Motorcycle Trip on a BMW 1250 GSA and Triumph Tiger 900

- Despite the incessant greyness and rain of an English winter we decided to take a short two night bike trip the the beautiful Cotswolds and visit he historic market town of Woodstock. The town itself is worth a visit but the real bonus is its proximity to the magnificent Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. We'd been once before but wanted to return to see it in all its Christmas glory. Every year the Palace is decorated with a specific theme, in the past it had been The Snow Queen and this year it was Peter Pan.
In many ways, the greyness of the dismal weather made the light show and decorations even more spectacular - especially in the evening where you have an opportunity to follow an outside light extravaganza. While not cheap, it is certainly worth a visit.
Woodstock is a lovely place for a short visit with some great pubs and historic buildings. We had a great time and would highly recommend it especially if your a fan of history and Winston Churchill.

Woodstock looks like a beautiful place to visit over the festive period, we must try it sometime. Also, plenty of exercise for my new knee🤔 ( still running it in 😂 )

Interesting seeing Blenheim Palace dressed for Christmas. A magnificent building which a certain politician did his new year speach from.
Hotel looked nice and comfortable and the fish and chips a bargain in the current climate. Sorry but curry sauce with fish! No.... got to be mushy peas and tartar sauce.

I have the Gerbing jacket which is a must in the cold. I also have the gloves but find them a bit of a faff with all the wiring.

Woodstock is beautiful - really quaint and spotlessly clean. The palace looks wonderful and both adults and children would enjoy it. A great trip to end your year. Can 2025 be any wetter than 2024? Probably! Any bike trips abroad on the agenda? I've booked the ferry to Bilbao in early June and when I arrive I'll look at the weather forecast and take it from there, so who knows where I'll end up.
I started with Gerbing heated gloves about 6 years ago, then bought their jacket and finally their socks. All excellent. My understanding is the electrics are guaranteed for the life of the garment, so if the electrics have given up the ghost you should get a free replacement, providing you kept the receipt!
It was certainly the wettest we can remember 😳 still life goes on 👍 can’t wait for summer and Portugal! You’re absolutely right about the Gerbing guarantee - sadly, can’t find the original receipt! C’est La Vie! 😀👍
@@midlifemotorcyclediaries Portugal is in the cards for me, weather permitting, as the last three boat journeys to northern Spain the weather sent me to Salamanca and Seville the first time, the sierras between Alicante and Valencia the second time and last year exploring the Pyrenees and Picos from Pamplona and Potes.

We have 2 Kiess Mesh Vests The new lighter mesh type which need to worn tight over a thin base layer the new mesh ones have heated collar they are also avaliable with long sleeves
They are very warm and this year have only used on level 1 so far as 2 and 3 are to hot

Lots of tiger owners don't seem to like the tourance nxt and change to Michelin Road 6, I will see how nxt few months go, on the tyres..!!! Thanks for you comments, you've done a fair few miles on them, so they can't be that bad..!!!

What is the purpose of the rear indicator lights permanently flashing when riding? Is that a wiring fault.
No it’s just how lights come out on video recordings - in reality they’re not flashing at all 😀👍

When you try replacement Keis jacket you find medium will keep you toasty. High is like being a boil in a bag meal. Good vid good to see you guys still out there 🥶
