Flowmaster 40 is so old, this new Flowmaster super hp2's I have installed are so unreal it makes the flowmaster 40 a JOKE! THE lamiter flow design is the best around😉

@@JoanWilder1985 I am telling ya the deceleration note at 30mph down in 1st gear tells it all, that low grumbling sound it makes sounds dark! I love it, sometimes I got popping sounds, the 40s never did that

I like the Full Boars. I went from MagnaFlows with tail pipes, to SpinTech 9000’s with turn downs, and they’re rowdy at WOT. It seems like the motor just breathes so much better with them. Seat of the pants it feels like it gained 20hp (I know it didn’t) but you can definitely tell the difference.

The Jones muffs sound good. Looks liike a great option for someome needing new mufflers. I have had 2 chamber Flowmasters on my 1989 LX since 1992, and they are still in great shape. Another cool video, Brew2l!

I'm in love with Jones Flowpack mufflers. Had them on my 2003 Grand Marquis with a cammed 4.6L and my 2000 Grand Marquis with a cammed 5.4L Sound like the old Flowmaster Super 10s.

I personally think the flowmaster sounded bettter... but with that being said, ebay had these mufflers with 2.5" tailpipes for 175. Add 45 for some 2.5" flow tubes, and for 220 total shipped you get a full 2.5" catback with these mufflers, thats hard to beat. I'm doing a budget built sn95 and that's what I did. Eventually I'll probably swap the mufflers out with some spintech 9000's, but for the money this set up was hard to beat.
I have a set of Jones Full Boar mufflers on my car and I love that's it a different sound. I never would have known about them if it wasn't for you.
I had 3" Full Boar on my YSI Windsor. I think they definitely have incredible value and sound great! I ended up changing mufflers as I felt a straight through muffler would flow a few more cfm for my application. The Full Boar sound awesome on your car!!!

I think the sound difference between the Jones and Flowmaster mufflers is very slight. You save a lot of money going with Jones mufflers… so they are definitely good for a budget build! Carbon Fox sounds AWESOME Brother!!💯👊🏾
that's because there just China knock offs and since Holley went to Chinese production for all the brands there own might as well. I like max flow straight threw better.. Almost all the China stuff is the same designs now. Used total flow, jones, ap etc .. All the same thing with a different stamping on it.

I really do like how the fullboars have a higher pitch and whistle to them! Reminds me of my 86 5.0 that my dad gave me for almost winning the Iowa state wrestling tournament my senior year (took 2nd @ 215lbs in '07 lost by 3 points) when i got my 2011 5.0 i was hoping to get that ol sound back, but now i absolutely love the sound of the coyote over everything, it sounds bipolar af, all over the place with that VVT 😊
Flowmasters all the way, they sound deeper and it brings back the 90’s
Imo opinion the flowmaster sounds like it has a thicker material. And Jones is made of thinner. But for the money I'd buy them.

@@hotrodray6802 imo fm is the default muffler. Dont know what you want exactly buy fm it will always sound good. Fm muffler is broke in. The Jones will get a lil more raspy as you use them
I use the jones bullet style mufflers all the time.

Great video showing the two options. Personally I can't go any other way than the Flowmasters. Just me. This spring fresh Flowmasters will be going on my '91 GT. Paired with fresh BBK headers and the three inch catted catalytic converter should be solid. Otherwise great video as always. 👍
I got the Jones on mine with the bullet style muffler. I love it especially with the pypes 3in tail pipes, doesn't even sounds like a normal foxbody lol

SLP loudmouths clean up the natural sound and in my opinion are the best sounding “muffler” for the foxbodies
I’m currently digging the forums on exhaust options for my fresh 331. Just got the tune dialed in, now I need to find the sound it deserves. This is definitely an option to be a little different than the copy/paste that is out there. Thanks for the the videos you put out for us home garage builders!!🤘🏻🤘🏻
I mean they sound good for what they cost I think. They definitely don’t sound bad but they’re just not for me. It’s always gonna be Flowmaster or Mac for me. Great video. Nothing better than a fox body mustang baby! Classic gem.

A couple of weeks ago I put turndowns on my 68 not bad but I'm not happy .I believe I might want to try some of them Jones Mufflers good price and turn the pipes just in front of the back tire just because I can and see what it sounds like. Great video brew2l

Will you make a video featuring the exhaust sounds including high RPM neutral revs with the Retro and Carbon Foxes? It would be interesting to compare the subtleties of those two "similar but different" exhaust systems on those supercharged cars.
Flowmaster Delta Flow 50 Series - 3 chamber mufflers. I have yet to find anything that sounds better. I have to say, these Jones mufflers are pretty impressive

Dynomax does. My son runs a Dynomax ultraflow setup on his fox and their mufflers came with the brackets welded to the muffler to utilize the factory hangers. Biggest reason though was for the nice moderate tone that isn't horribly loud, no drone, stainless construction, and they flow better with a straight through design rather than a chamber muffler setup.
Sounds more like a stainless setup. Just makes the carbon fox even better

On a side note have you thought about going N/A on the Cobra, just disconnect the charge pipe and driving it?
I gotta be honest, i find the Borla Pro XS mufflers to be the best sounding. The6 have a nice deep aggressive rumble. And dont get obnoxious sounding like the Jones, an Flow Master chamber type mufflers.

I've always been a Flowmasters fan. But The Jones setup is just an upgrade in sound. With the 3 in setup. Just as a comparison with before and after. I'll roll with the Jones as an 3 in upgrade setup as it is.

Recently installed the same ones. I've noticed a small backfire down hills or down shifts once they burn in.👊👊
Burn in? I thought that was for mufflers with fiberglass material not chambered mufflers?

Sounds really good to me! But better than the sound it’s got to be amazing not to have the one muffler banging away against the floor pan. You could clearly hear that rattle in multiple driving videos!
Yeah I understand what you’re saying but I still like the sound of the flowmaster🤔 with the flowmaster you can really hear the whistling of the turbocharged 👍🏻

Sounds good! LMR needs to sell an adapter insert to put in the 3" flowtube that will allow it to marry up to the 2.5" ball end of the intermediate pipe. Like what came with the old MAC 3" Pro Dumps. I'm going to explore this myself and if I come up with something you will see it in person soon enough 😆

@@hotrodray6802 I was just exploring the idea of making the 3 to 2.5 transition without cutting and welding. MAC Products had the perfect setup but unfortunately are no longer in business. Their 3in flowtubes came with an insert that allowed them to bolt directly to the 2.5in h-pipe. I'm just a guy stuck in the past... Mr Brew2l knows how I am...😆 🤣
I had a Fox with a long rod 306 11:1 and a custom trophy stock cam on worked tfs heads...anyways I went through a handful of exhaust setups and the nastiest one by far was the stepped Bassani headers to X pipe and the Hooker Max flow mufflers all 2.5". It was a tiny bit quiet at idle but had the creamiest sound to it very exoctic sounding . Then a buddy of mine replicated it and on a stock head/cam cobra intake car and it was crap lol. So if you go this route you need some compression but its the beez kneez and when I lit it (225 of .nitrous) omg straight nasty. I use to race my friends on 600/750s and scar em all until the end of 4th. She had a Tweecer and the limiter was at 6800rpm w 3:55s at 2750 w me in it painted candy tangerine....Ahhhh the good ol days lol

Not or nothing what do you have against clamps there is so much work to replace any of those parts. What happens if you bottom it out or back a tailpipe into a curb. I guess you don't need to worry about them rotting out

Paradox makes a very tough sounding bullet style muffler. They have a very unique baffle that cancles any droning. Check out sound clips they are bad ass.

They sound good enough that I would run the hell out of them especially for the money you cant beat it . Might experiment with Beans with a set. Are they straight thru design? i have 3" dumps on beans at the moment

Basically Flowmasters lol. My dad has the single chamber flow monsters (same as a 10 series flowmaster) on his 383 swapped S10. They sound great

Flow Monsters are suppose to be Flowmaster's economy line of muffler. Some say flowmonster sounds like flowmaster ,for a cheaper price.
My 95 sounds pretty sick now but it took some dickn around. It's bone stock except the modded OEM exhaust. I started with replacing the factory muffs with Jones FB 2.25" muffs was totally underwhelmed it was barely louder, I replaced last 18" with strait cut 3" tubing that was a huge difference in sound more growl deeper sound with some popping so then I gutted the 2 aft cats mehh little louder then gutted the 2 fore cats little louder sounded nice but just not that loud so one day sai screw it went bough some bends and ditched the muffs all together and i turned the key a WOW It's loud and sounds roudy! It gets attention and comments all the time, people think it's pretty rank I don't say it is but it is i just let them think what they like. But it is pretty nasty sounding, I work as a welder/fabricator so I'm going to buy a pipe kit and build a custom x piped 2.5" exhaust, will never "need" 3" pipe but it would prob sound pretty sick but that seems like a big pipe to cram under there? People say ohh it will ruin low end Tq but thats nonsense there just regurgitating crap they've heard, if that was the case open headers would kill so much Tq it would be undrivable and it doesn't. I do plan to weld V bands back where the mufflers are so I can swap out mufflers or remove them. Just build a jig so I can make a section that will slide right in and out no hackin and welding Every time i want to try a different setup. The mufflers I'm pondering using are the moroso spiral flows.

I run super 44 Flowmasters and really like the sound but never compared to 40 series I get lots of compliments on the sound but I like the sound of those Jones also haven't heard in person but from the video they sound good.

Sound quality and chop is important but loud noise levels are paramount if you drive em much. I do.
In back to back tests that we've run, Flow Masters knocked the shit out of the power. Like 20+.
