Hello guys, I’m a francophone from West Africa (Côte d’Ivoire), but let me tell you that you give the best lessons ever, crystal clear even for non English speaker, pragmatic and upgrading. Many thanks for all and good continuation 👍🏾🤗
This is one of the channels that educate you about something serious for free. Even without buying its course, watching their video wants me to get their courses.
@@m4xhunt3r_yt it’s filled with a ton of information. The videos are easy to comprehend and they move at a good pace. I totally recommend this course for a beginner. I learned a lot
Wow, Just when I thought I was getting my head around understanding camera settings, you hit me with all this audio stuff lol. Very comprehensive video, glad I found your channel

I am glad to have found these people just with all that they give on their Chanel is incredibly helpful i can't never be thankful enough 🙌God watches over you all
I noticed putting the microphone over the subject pointing down, helps reduce echo because the sound being captured is not bouncing off the ceiling but dampened by the subject or a rug/carpeting on the floor.
if the wind produce low noise kinda like rumble, it is possible to remove those frequencies in post. But ofc it's allways the best to get the best sound you can on set.
May be just my humor but when you said you suggest buying a dead cat, but if you dont have one.... i expected you to say to buy a live one and wait for it to die 😂😂
Interesting thought about placing lapel mic as close as possible. A few pro sound engineers I’ve seen talk about this say you want it closer to mid chest to avoid increasing Sibilance
The first day of audio class I took at Film School, the first thing my professor said stuck with me more than anything else: "You can make a movie that LOOKS like shit, but you can NEVER make a movie that SOUNDS like shit".
Wow...wow... u guys are really ...really wonderful ..the way you all are doing tha channel is superb ..i m from very small country .here most of the people in the industry dont share the knowledge .b,cause they think if somebody learn better than me he/she might lose his/her positions .but i feel if somebody light a "match" from a lamp the light won,t decrease ,like youall thanks brothers ...😘😘😘😘😘😘
Love this! 💛 Simple, clear, and covered everything I needed to know to begin using my AT2020 mic & Zoom recorder properly. 💯 I look forward to putting into practice all this great advice in my soon-to-launch TH-cam channel. 😎👍
Wow. Part it's a great reminder, from previous videos, but this is a tiny percentage, and rest is very helpful, even I don't know how , ot just don't understand. I just learned that sometimes u can spend $/£/€ 300 on microphone, and 50 for dead cat, and have windy audio, and sometimes when you do opposite , u will get less windy audio. Wow. Maybe I should buy whole teachings !
The reason Netflix will change the video quality first is because the bitrate difference between video and audio is huge. There is very little to gain by reducing the audio bitrate (which is about 640 Kbps = 0,08Mb/s) compared to 4K video which has around 25-40Mb/s. So just changing from 4K to 1080p you get it down to around 6Mb/s, the audio part is not even a rounding error in comparison.
Great I got a short film idea that now feels such a complex hurdle, expensive to produce and ton of mind boggling. Anyway just wanted to say.. you guys are definitely on the professional side of the game. Nice video, pretty helpful and informative can't thank you enough for this, you know.. helping passionate guys like us and preventing future cringe crimes. Surely appreciate the online course of yours, would absolutely enroll once I get some bucks on my pocket. Peace guys.
it's "damping" not dampen or dampening as in wetting, the bigger rooms are fine with hyper or super cardioid close mic, 96khz works better for processing than 48khz, facts
Hmm you get better lav audio by moving it down to the chest, instead of taping it right under the chin (since the chin will otherwise shade the higher frequencies).
The highest bit rate is not 24 and not because you have 32 you should necessarily use it, other than that it’s great advice for begginers you’re helping a lot of people!
Very educational and informative and simple to understand. Thank you! Purchased your film making course straight away which I wished I've done a year ago. ❤💯
I wish someone told me a long time ago that to record music using digital equipment, just have it peak at -6 db for the average. -12 db for talking sounds very reasonable.
19:30 you said bit rate, but you meant resolution or bit depth. On the contrary bit rate and frequency are the same quantities. At 21:30 mean digital recording levels for broadcasting are standardized to -18 or -20 dB depending on the country.
Each tip is so well-covered that feels like a course.
Yes❤️🙂

I noticed putting the microphone over the subject pointing down, helps reduce echo because the sound being captured is not bouncing off the ceiling but dampened by the subject or a rug/carpeting on the floor.
Man I really need to thank you for the best thing I ever watch about Audio... thanks
When you tape it inside the shirt, make sure to also use medical tape to put it on their body. They will thank you when it's removed!!
...and even medical tape, including band-aid, typically gives me some redness or itch after removal
Didn't know about room tone and its use for editing out abrupt sounds and dead space. Very good information.
Audio and camera can everx body, but story, a story told in a way nobody did, that sets you apart
The evil smile after talking about dead cats 😊
