I love how you showed the phone calls with the brokers please do this as much as possible!
You probably dont care but does anybody know of a trick to get back into an instagram account??
I somehow lost the password. I love any assistance you can offer me
@Decker Fletcher Instablaster :)
@Ezekiel Franklin I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im trying it out now.

@Ezekiel Franklin It worked and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thanks so much you saved my ass :D
@Decker Fletcher happy to help :)
I like all of your videos but this is one of the best! The detail of booking to seeing what you see on the load boards etc. is the type of stuff we can’t see anywhere else! Excellent, thank you!
It's rare that I'd watch a 25 minute video. But on TP. worth it !!
You always have a positive outlook in these videos. It’s the reason I like watching
You have such a positive attitude and outlook and that is what is so encouraging regardless of the situation or circumstances. Please keep up all that you can with work and videos. It is truly helpful and your honesty is priceless!
Absolutely great video. First vid I’ve seen of driver speaking and negotiating with brokers. I would recommend more of those. Stay safe brother.
Man this channel is awesome! So much good info on a topic not covered enough by youtubers.
Great video, I've been watching your channel for a while, I liked the way you showed us your daily routine. This is why we watch.
I'm glad you're able to keep moving Alex. Good luck buddy
Even though I have no intention hotshoting, it's nice of you to show what you go through. Peace!
Alex, you are doing a great work, only people who are slow like me waiting for my truck documents , are missing out, but you are a great motivator for a person saying I got no cash in my pocket!!
In trucking, you can desire a destination, but in the end you go where the local freight takes you.
Try to get to areas where freight is coming and going, try to avoid areas that loads go into but nothing seems to be coming out of, but in the end, you have to haul something somewhere and if you get lucky, the loads will lead you into good areas.
Good luck Alex. Wishing you all the best getting though these uncertain times. Your honesty and humbleness is appreciated. Be safe and get some PPE.
You should try to find some fire hose to run your straps through to protect them from getting cut or frayed on sharp objects.
Your so positive. I get to see the country thru your videos. Keep going.
Have a time limit on breaking even. And if loosing money be sure you know what your reserves are. If you run out of $$ and things turn around you may be pushing buggies for Wal Mart because you don't have the needed reserves. Nothing you don't know but others may not.
Great video and content.
I would rather go home broke than go home broke and tired.
Upside to the situation less traffic, downside to the situation is that a lot of the nonessential businesses are closed or operating at less capacity. I feel your pain and I hope you can keep the wheels turning with little to no dead head.
Love your channel man. I think you do a great job of bringing honesty and transparency to the viewers. Cheers!
Yep it's bad out here, I'm in WA and been home all month.
My non cdl is doing way better. He's got a 1.30 load. Then He's picking a 2.00 mile on monday single loads shorter miles like day runs. He's been doing great. We run a 2500hd with a 38' lowboy with a dove tail to ramps. Lots of options that way. Appreciate your advice. Definitely helped me get started and advise my newer hotshot drivers.
It's all about being in the right area and not chasing crazy loads out of your lane
Boy you work for your money hope your back holds up my back sore just watching you working😫 but I was young once and I could do it
You can get free fuel if your running a 2003 to 2007 dodge diesel. Old triple filtered oil and colored diesel 60/40 mix. Colored or dyed diesel is 30 cent a gallon and used motor oil is free and in some cases they pay you to get rid of it. Good luck stay safe
Watched this today. He was trying to drive at the height of covid terror in Seattle. Nobody working or commuting, nobody shipping either. There are 5 major manufacturers within 10 miles of where he was in Tacoma plus the 4th largest shipping Port in North America. Alex is young (27). He is on a rapid learning curve. There are better ways to learn.
The true bottom line is Alex is you love what you do💪God bless and be with ya buddy
At least the youtube ad revenue helps you out, which is well-deserved. You do a great job with these videos. This 25 minute video felt like 5 minutes!
Awesome video bro! Not because of stupid covid! But because u showed the real deal! The harder u work the luckier u get! Best of luck 👊🏼
I would recommend applying for Lyft and Uber. All you had to do is turn on the apps, set your destination to Sacramento and began accepting all ride requests from passangers, since you would only get requests heading to your destination. Keeping the inside of your truck squeeky clean will be a must.
Yea ok!!!!!
I-5 is a parting lot from Fort Lewis (that area just south,) north to the border....
I picked up in Weed CA and you passed me in Cottonwood CA at around 3:50 ish am and the I passed you agin when you pulled into the rest stop shorty after cottonwood lol
Gotta respect ur work ethic bro!
Hey Alex, been at home 2 weeks watching you, Watch those rates let the cheap stuff set, now is the time to leave the Cheap stuff set! travel safe were in NE Alabama
You can get any load out of Washington to California easily paying well.
I feel like I’m on the road from home watching these great videos
You couldn't have said it any better, the current situation requires us to adapt even if that means operating at a deficit for a (hopefully) short period of time.
Nice video Alex, first I liked the audio from the broker! Good for new guys to hear how she baited you to give her a price . There is no way she didn’t know what she had in it, there is a saying when two people meet ether they sell you or you sell them. And the first person to talk usually looses . I think you left some money on the table , but it is what it is.
Curious on the 5500 you spent what 1300 in fuel give or take maybe another 200 on the trip and still earned 4K on the trip minus your other expenses. For some of us that don’t have the same expenses that’s still not a bad week considering what’s going on.
Good time for everyone to remember cut your expenses as much as you can , always bump the broker at least the cost of fuel . Stay safe
I admire your stick-to-itness. Your absolutely right, it IS getting harder and harder to operate at a profit.
I stopped working ( LA to Seattle). We'll shall see what the 'new' normal is after this blows over.
Love the positive attitude you always have!
Great video and info, well worth watching it’s entirety. Great work TP
An old international scout ii tub that's awesome, I'm currently building one.
do more like this plzzzzz
talking to brokers posting the good and bad
God bless you great man...you are a living sample of the American 🇺🇸 entrepreneurship spirit!
Well I’ve seen all tires used for a lot of things but never to stand a load on excellent
The single strap on the bouys should be fine, as long as the straps dont chafe and tear. Those straps should be rated for 2400 lbs or close to that.
And operating at a loss just goes with the job. Plus it gives you a break on your taxes.
I wanna think the way you do woth the less paying loads but then I think about all the wear on my truck so I end up not moving for less than $2.
Keep those wheels moving! Some money better then no money at these times. I’m calculating loads now to get my wheels moving hopefully just locally.
I just found your channel,I was just looking into loads for a driver because I am a driver but started my Dispatching Business and it has switched in the last few weeks to where like Houston Tx to Odessa Texas was averaging 1,3884 but now is about $727 but from like San Antonio Texas to Sunray Texas is $1,297. Granted thier is not much in terms of finding backhaul as of yet because I just started looking but many opportunities to do a triangle if you know what I mean, just sharing what I have seen, God Bless you and your family and stay safe.
I guess we're from different schools of thought. I am all for running as hard as you need to to break even in hard times. That said, running at a loss not only hurts you when the times are hard it hurts you for a time when things turn good as you try to remove the build up of red ink. My philosophy is times are never good and I never have excess cash. Save, save save when times are good for the cushion you'll need when it all goes to sh*t. I owned 15 class 8 tractors leased on to 5 carriers back when diesel spiked over $4.00. There were days I hated the mail box more than my ex. In the end I had good men and women who were consumate professionals that knew we were all in it together. In the end try to make it 75% preparation and 25% perspiration. Best wishes,
Mark.
i should have watched this video sooner. Carlisle/ Insulfoam in fredrickson, WA ships roofing foam to Utah and Cali for good prices. Plus it's ~6k lbs for a 53' trailer. I've seen hotshots there all the time. We've gotten rates for ~$2/mile
That scout is worth some money!!!!
One of your better videos thanks man
Great work 👍
Just found your channel a few days ago. Man I thought some of the creators I watched were the nicest people. But let me just say this: you my friend blow those people out of the water. You seem like one of the nicest, most down to earth person I’ve watched on TH-cam. Just wanted to thank you for being such a great person from what I can tell. Definitely gonna keep watching your vids.
If you haven’t already done an update to this video, then you should. And by update, I mean if covid is still affecting hot shot to where you shouldn’t jump into it yet
I feel sick now. I just delivered yesterday in Seattle and now on my 34 reset. I hope I can get a load out of here Monday headed to the southeast. Need to get to the house to pick up my tag renewal. Its sitting at the house waiting on me. Only came here cause I got $2 a mile for the run here. Also thought Seattle would be big enough to have some good loads out of it.
look in the Portland area. I have a hard time getting loads in Seattle.
TP, i did the CDL route, and can say that in the last 2 weeks, the rates have plummeted to almost the point that I will be happy to cover my costs for now. my thoughts are with you brother.
My boy Alex, lol, getting it,I run mostly dedicated and had to take a step back but was able to recoup on a lost day by burning up the local scene, hint(plumbing supplies)guys busier than ever
They do have alot of hotshots steal and lumber but its regenal in washington St.
I did the same deadhead from WA to CA back when everything start and never went back to west since
It's not getting worse I've been getting loads everywhere.
Pt. Its not a bed, its the body of a international scout. Similer to a chevy blazer..😊
how much are they worth though.. 1700$ just for shipping it sheeesh
Great and informative video, Alex.
Alex great content......Could you start each episode of your VLOG with the date and your location? Thank you...
I will be in Tacoma today, delivering to Westrock just down the road from you.
Good to know. Keep us posted
I has been running bay Area to Seattle area for about five weeks, loads back were always bad except for containers to Oakland two weeks in a row. I deadheaded home to Foresthill, CA from Seattle 25-26 March, no loads. Got my truck serviced, needed rear brakes and changed oil in engine, both differentials and transfer case. March 30 loaded to Pasco, WA, delivered then loaded in Hubbard, OR for Missoula, MT, went off the road on ice 8:30 on the night of April 1 in St Regis, MT, totalled, out of business, BK. Now I'm an employee for a hotshot and stepdeck outfit with about 20 drivers.
THANKS FOR THE INFO,,,,,,GOOD LOOKING OUT! STAY SAFE
I'm going into Hotshoting with a f250 and 30ft trailer, yes its short but I can make like 1 a mile and be all guchie cuz I dont gave a 60k truck and a 25k trailer to pay for.
its better to work at walmart.
In 15 years, I’ve never dead headed 800 miles! That’s fucking insane... this is why you pay 10% to a good dispatcher!
I shutdown to next year or to get better. I working for A-Z lawn care for this year.
Looks like you got big balls.(ha ha)I used a place called showtime when I couldn't find anything on central or my broker didnt have anything. I hope it may help in a pinch.
Your positive attitude is a must in hot shoting
Nice one Alex! Keep them coming !!
Ahhhhhh my guy good morning. Tow piglet for president 2020🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
This is really inspiring 👍🏿
My whole family has had Covid over 3 times we still think it’s a bunch of bs but it’s ruined everything around here
Question for you Alex how would you have moved that rear piece if you needed to in order to get that partial on there? It was my first thought when you pulled up to a residential area. Not sure how heavy it was or if you have a winch maybe use the straps to pull it over?
Good job alex stay safe bud
Great content as always Alex. Stay safe bud.
You are doing what you have to do. Stay safe
Have you seen a significant gain with fuel prices going down on a week to week basis.
I dont know what you talking about. I do Boeing loads on my hotshot on regular basis in Seattle WA.
As I'm getting into hot shot setup hitting the engine brake thinking forget them rates lol looking into a construction contract instead 😅
By law 2 strips need on anything on the bed. Even if you have only 2, 2x8's. Why, if one strip breaks, there's a back-up security stirp. Don't run into a hard nose Dot or a Dot that's training someone.
I live right next to Tacoma
Your a badass dude u inspired me Forsure💯🙏
Hey Alex, like your channel. Can you maybe explain what you are hauling if it's something odd that we may no know what it is?
Just take what you can get no matter where it goes .and yes Boeing does i used to haul all kinds of shit oh wait gotta jave a contract just seems like all these scabs dont want to look into it cause once your in your set
You said you have two new employees. One for 600 and one for 400. What do they do?
Its been tough here in the uk too im still rolling but for how long as all car dealers are currently shut here so im relying on the individuals
Great video. You have to do what you have to do. Getting another Ford or are you going back to a RAM? I tried a 2020 RAM and was not impressed at all. I’d like to see you rent a GMC or Chevy and then put your review on TFL truck.
you should've done seattle-portland then portland - California
Alex you must really hate Loves, to fuel at that dump mini pilot. Could have had Chester's chicken at Loves. Also one of our pneumatic truck and trailer in the background.
I will drive past a Pilot to get any where else. But I also keep telling him to stop paying truck stop prices and fuel at the larger convenience stores. Even some Walmart's are putting in truck pumps and many have truck parking spaces.
@@happypappy6371 I'll drop by the garden center and fuel up at the Walmarts, saves me $100-150 a week.
Pilots are all disgusting,I look for loves for showers/overnight parking
Plot twist: There's ALWAYS construction on I-5 near Tacoma
Do you follow the 55mph posted speed limit for vehicles towing trailers in California?
Its great for me no traffic im breaking all kinds of time records yea your boards might be cheap and suck but im fine i have government contracts easy as fk gotta have your twit card cause alot goes to ports vehicles i do hummers and busses
Best thing to do right now if you wanna get in this field is get employed with a company. Honestly I wouldn't recommend being an OO at this time. It's been tough
WTF small town??? I live in Tacoma. I feel offended you called it small and that you didn't say hi :)
This is what I wanted to see on how much you can make during a pandemic
Not a pandemic.
Morning stay safe and be prosperous
So you don’t have to have DOT numbers!? Or you do? I’m paying cash for my truck and trailer for my start company which we also have a airplane repair biz as well so I’m Trying to get all my I’s dotted and t’s crossed...so do I need a new truck or at least a 2015 and how many axles so I don’t have to have a cdl
You just passed my on chrisman and Schulte in Tracy. I was the red F-450 lol
Awesome , your truck looked good bro
Tow Piglet thanks bro! Headed to Lodi and Fresno, both headed to Spokane. Where you headed?
SUPER Valuable video!!
