    It’s funny how new people think that the loads pay $2 or more a mile when in truth you have to almost always partial your way to that kind of rate in hotshot. Nothing is easy when it comes to booking freight and even harder in the current market.

  • @johnh.caydler4285
    @johnh.caydler4285 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    In relation to previous problems you have had with trailer axles.First of all do not buy u-bolts from a car parts store.These are not rated for Hot Shot use.Second you have to torque the u-bolts on installation,And re-torque after at least 200 miles.This accounts for the stretch factor.I would recommend buying a set of u-bolts from a spring shop and carry a spare set.Also the actual diameter of the bolts should be addressed.This should help to avoid breakdowns.I am a recent subscriber and very interested in your plans.A bit of caution,Dont speed be carefull in your expansion plans.You worked very hard for yourself and family.Dont ruin it.There are many snakes in the road.Good luck God Bless and be safe........

    I also saw a comment about talking to brokers. I thought it was a tough process and I hate being on the phone so I was thinking maybe this isn’t for me. But you don’t have to say much to the broker.
    Hey just looking into the load from Arizona to PA.
    Then they take the conversation.
    Not that bad. I thought you’d have to be “Hey I’m Billy. I’m trying to reach Jess.”
    Billy from where? What’s this in regards to?
    “I own Bills Trucking and saw a tow/haul on this website that Jess posted.”

      Things are certainly starting to pickup, rates are still very cheap though. One week in March I sat because I couldn’t find a load

    SO, 1000 miles for $1 a mile.
    10 mpg so about 400-ish in fuel leaves $600.
    20 hours-ish drive time so $600 divided by 2 days is $300 a day and you have to pay insurance, depreciation and monthly payment on the truck and trailer? Sounds like it's no better than tractor box trailer loads.
