I was panicked when you were magic magnetting the ramp to the base and left the "magnet" blocks wood. You were upgrading in case of cop explosions and such and my brain went yeah but your ramp is borrowing stability from the side. XD All that said, the base look epic as heck. I love this design. I know they're not everyone's cup of tea, but I think the base building episodes are my favorite. I love seeing the creativity on display.
Of all the major 7 days creators (that I know), you always have the coolest builds! It feels like there's potential for a lot more 7 days build content, but so few do it.
It's because a lot of the creators tend to focus on survival. They do some pretty cool base building, Glock9 does some great stuff. Also, JaWoodle is another great base builder. I do like Tem's builds, but sometimes they can be complicated. He does some great work though.
The potential for crazy creative and pretty bases are not just for creators though. We could all build some creative stuff if the Devs would give us easy survival access to all the POI exclusive blocks right? No clue why its still limited to the cheat menu to get all this decorative stuff they use for the POIS :(
Tem’s builds are more complicated than basically anyone else’s I’ve seen. Especially for so early on in his play throughs. I prefer brutal effectiveness and efficiency to start, and then expanding into decorations and looks once your horde base can comfortably weather a horde. It’s less exciting that way. But especially for a one lie challenge type of thing- survival is first. Everything that isn’t survival has to come second.
If you want to see some crazy builds, go check @JCsChannel . He's been making content since A1 and built up an entire universe with ZRI (Zombie Research Initiative), Gladis (a sassy AI) and good old Mike Gordon Freeman (who can say anything, with only two sentences).
Can we appreciate the editing that GNS put into these videos. The camera placements and angles, the music. The cinematic feel makes it more entertaining to watch.
Your video was uploaded 9 mins ago but already I'll say it was amazing before I've even watched it lol. Keep them coming dude and as always your video editing is the best of anyone I watch for 7DTD content ☺️👍
Speaking of that, he just posted an update on his Patreon. He hopes to have an experimental version out sometime in the near future 2024 barring any major setbacks
You could use plates on top of the fighting position in order to keep the zombies from hitting the roof and ducking down. Also plate corners would be an idea 🤌
I just wanna say great job on the editing and time you put into your videos! that by far makes you so different in your content, was a pleasure watching!
One of the aspects I enjoy the most in your series is your base builds Tem! I actually get alot of inspiration from watching all the base builds that you do and then building my own base. Often with some designs that use yours as a start :D
Thrilled to see a big 7DTD youtuber embracing the challenge of the harder biomes. At some point, seeing pros building the same old base in the forest gets old. I'm testing a pipe weapons only challenge in the snow biome right now. I might even record and upload it
Thanks for that @GNS, that got my adrenaline pumping, now I wanna play. That cheeky Molotov was priceless. I'm on day 21 in an Army Base (t7) wish me luck. Subscribed for more excitement !
i have yet to see a video on this channel that i DIDNT like. Such an awesome channel to just chill and watch in my spare time and even during my works slow hours. Much appreciated sir! Great content!
Hi Tem. For your fighting position, if you orient the front railing ( 30:59 ) horizontally , you can repair it much easier during the horde & also see more clearly if it breaks.
also, might be a bad idea to have storages on the side the base defense is on, i forsee cops and demolishers blowing up the wall and storages @GunsNerdsandSteel
I know ur not on strength but the knockdown from sledgehammers is amazing for the base idea that u came up with. I think u might need to pull it one block away from the base for the ramp up but besides that it is a cool design.
keep up the great work man... awesome content and really amusing.. cant wait to see to the next upload. really loving the new 7d2d update and getting back into the game because i lost interest a year ago and now i find myself enjoying the game again. especially watching you and learning new techniques and strategies.
The snow biome has always been my favorite biome to play in. The bonus to loot is just too nice, and the challenge is at just the right level to make me work for my safety while not being overwhelming. When I learned how to do it (before the pimps added the biome slider) I would basically make my entire random gen maps snow with small patches for the needed materials like oil shale sprinkled here and there. Just to save me from having to spend my first day walking to find the snow biome lol. But with how they seem to have bumped up the horde night challenge in this new version I might have to rethink my choice.
If you had a sledge hammer or stun baton then you could knock off all of the zombies and make them cycle back up again. This is the perfect base design for that and you would save on resources every time that you knock off all of the zombies because they would cycle back to you.
36:17 The spear would be a better choice then the knife there for more distance (You can hit the zombies but they cant hit you) Also where they fall down you could build a pit so with spikecones so they cant get up again
I’ve been playing with base ideas after watching Glocks horde night. When they have a block over their heads they constantly go into a crouch after a jump making them hard to hit and smack the bars at waste level. They are doing that at your base. They can stack up without the block over their heads so you just need to watch the condition of the blocks they stack to but they are easy to reach since it’s technically over your head.
I discovered your channel on this update. I have been loving it several days in 50 minutes it's great I hate 30 minutes episode just for one day and wait for the next day
I think that base/position would really do wonders with a dart trap on the end shooting at the platform from air side. Or a sledge turret to start giving them knockoff.
The zombies are crouching due to the pillar in front of your plate. As soon as the railing is gone, they'll try crouching under it. Sometimes even with the railing still intact, since the pillar is bigger. You can prevent this with the smaller pipeshapes, but it ain't looking great.
Yeah, I always build my trader outposts off the road, stay out of his exclusion area. 10:00 mark... I wonder if the lack of bedroll will come back to bite you? Almost did, that was CLOSE!
Love the series! Your base design from Borderline series is so good that it's hard for me to try something new ^^ and yes, hordes in snow/wastelands are extremely difficult, expect radiated/demos on the next one :P and since loot bags are so meh I'm doing my bases on forest biome, boost to zombie hp made t4+ poi's much more dangerous that even on warrior is easy to die.
The reason the ramp on the right went red before the ramp on the left, is because stability is calculated by the shortest path to bedrock. Because of the shape of your base, the ramps had to connect back to base and then to the left to find a block with nothing below it but straight unbroken column to bedrock. The path on the right was a couple of blocks longer than the path on the left.
The zombies have some insane reach against blocks when they're in a position behind a sideways dor or a hatch on the floor, it's very annoying! The zombies can hit blocks that are 5 blocks above them if they're squeezed in a 2x2 area! The fun pimps need to fix this!
I think that's going to be a tough position to knife-fight hordes from. The machete might come in handy with it's higher primary attack dmg though, since I think bleeds arent going to be enough. I might experiment with putting the door on a short timer to auto dump them and clear your plate a bit. Will be an interesting watch!
Half blocks (or 3/4 blocks) over the fighting position might reduce ducking. Inclines/wedges may increase ducking though. You need to make the path to the ramp longer (like the first base, but maybe not AS long). Once they get within range they will auto-enter destroy area mode after falling, which is what seems to be happening. I had this same issue recently in a21, they took out a two wide ramp at the same point each time.
What are you using for doing your "cinematic shots" like when you drove on your bike towards the snow biome at the beginning and such. Is this some mod? (like the "replay mod" in minecraft?)
I can imagine Trader Hugh watching this build go up from his compound with a pair of binoculars: "Visitors? What the hell is he doing? There goes the neighbourhood!"
My buddy and I turned the difficulty up, warrior or maybe nomad, but kept most things at normal settings. We decided to move to the biome of the new trader when it is introduced through the missions. Its a fun challenge. I'm dreading getting to the snow biome with only tier 4 missions allowed.
The early jump to a harder biome and the custom crafting base is the move. I love the first horde base for day 7 but I see alot of trouble in this one could see something more like the darkness falls horde base mirrored on the left and right but instead of 3 redundancies have a dual left and right if that makes sense.
When you were building your base and it collapsed, i honestly had a flashback when i was a beginner. Lol. When that happened i instinctly closed the game and maybe played a few days later haha
So the 4 meters of snow is due to that the POI Editor puts all Top Soil as the default dirt. Then a POI is created and saved. This means that all of the top soil is replaced with Snow when in the snow biome. My friend found this issue in A21 and its pretty much an issue in all of the new POI's. If you go out to the random gen ground that is not part of a POI then snow only goes down 1 meter.
Hey tem, 7:05 maybe the lion was able to hit you because you placed the bars at the top of the 2nd block. Maybe if you try the bottom of the 3rd you might be out of range? We all know that anything sitting 2 blocks tall can be hit by zombies and animals. (Your pinky toe might be clipping the 2nd block and they still hit you... idk lol) Also you could try the "middle bars" (dont know their real name). Those would put you half a block higher, but also it would sacrifice your range, specially with your knife. There is room for experimentation!
Also, the zombies were crawling because the gap is not quite 2 blocks high (because you put the railings on top of the 2nd block). I think they need the full 2 blocks to stand straight.
What do we think about this move? Too soon? Or worth the trouble... 💰🤑🤔
He who dares wins.
I was panicked when you were magic magnetting the ramp to the base and left the "magnet" blocks wood. You were upgrading in case of cop explosions and such and my brain went yeah but your ramp is borrowing stability from the side. XD All that said, the base look epic as heck. I love this design. Always worth the trouble 🤘
worth the trouble my guy keep up the series rolling
Great series as always Tem. You can handle the snow biome, you got this. Just be VERY wary of infestation quests out there. You have been warned 🫡
The gratuitous molotov during the road trip made me giggle into my coffee :)
Talk about a drive by lol
It would have been better if he was playing with the fire mod. Burn that place to the ground
Was that the place he almost died at? That would explain why.😅

A punchy turret on the outside corner to send off overflowing zombies might be a fun addition.
Storytelling 10/10! Very creative, and the base blueprints are a nice touch. Thank you for the content.😍

Made me chuckle when he lobbed a molotov at it :)
Jen for the win.
She sure is a sight for sore eyes 😍
Jen, what an Angel
@@GunsNerdsandSteelI’ve been playing warzuk and it’s always shocking. But Jen is my fave even almost naked.
love u firebombing that death trap poi
I think that wide, horizontal fighting position, with large clusters of zombies, is ideally suited to the sledgehammer, not the knife.
Yeah, that's what Glock found out.
Reminds me I need to catch up with Glock's channel!
I think machete also has wide swings as well, at least for the power attacks. Been while since I did Agi though, so no idea if it has any splash/aoe.

There is no surprise why you are so popular. Good, fun, and nice. A triple threat. Good at the game, fun cinematic, and a nice guy. Kudos man.
32:30 good idea for the ventilation on the forges. Just be careful as coal tends to spit out from time to time.
i appreciate your content because you are logical in your build structures and not in god mode building concrete bases on day 1
How the hell does he come up with these ideas. Whatever you are doing keep on doing it. Well done sir
Been thinking about this base for a LONG time. I wanted to tie in the base to the intro logo/series title 😊
The base was definetly worth the trouble. Love to see how the base design keeps evolving

This whole update has been insane. Much harder zombies and progression... BUT IN A GOOD WAY
You should use upside down wedge blocks! that way when they start stacking up it'll knock them back and off the edge
The challenges are absurdly fun
