Interesting thing for the tree stumps in AfterLife - when you chop down a full-grown tree, you might get a stump left over.
If you leave that stump alone, in a couple of days, it might attract a bee colony.
You can then harvest the honey with an empty container.
does this affect trees you plant too or just wild/natural ones?

It’s the workload, a 4 hour stream takes 4 hours, where as every hour of edited content probably takes him 10 hours
An amazing start to this series, I'm super hyped to watch it. One tip I had that worked in the previous version of Afterlife (I haven't tried 1.0 yet) you could butcher zombie corpses with a knife which gave you lots of bones and flesh but most importantly it gave butchering XP! I leveled up butchering quickly and I think that also gave some finesse with all it's attendant bonuses. Also golden rod tea is great for countering food poisoning %. I'd nom some sham sammies and then toss down a golden rod tea to even it out as food poisoning has a knock on effect against your vitality rating. Keeping vitality up was always a hard struggle for me. As always thank you for the amazing content.
Best thing about a new series. The story telling and editing, it’s so damn good! The downside, waiting for the next episode 😅😂 💜

I do think it's kind of funny how the supposedly more "realistic" mods are just unrealistic in different ways.
The only thing that really bothers me about this mod is the "incurable infection" part, even past death. That just seems annoying, rather than an interesting mechanic. It might be cool playing with a bunch of friends, maybe, but not solo.
@@liastaob Even worse is the 'Random passing out' that counts as death. I still don't know wtf causes that, cause it doesn't TELL YOU. Even in the log it just says 'xxxxxx died'. Uh...FROM WHAT!?!?!?!?!
I mean it is more realistic. It acts like escape from Tarkov. Where you eat to much and your gonna vomit. Just like real life. It’s not unrealistic. The infection I mean whatever. It’s lame mechanic in the game anyways. Has ANYONE DIED FROM AN INFECTION? Outside maybe, maybe your first play of 7 days and even then a zombie will probably kill you before an infection. Infection mechanic doesn’t work for the og game. It just doesn’t. I always have meds full of bandages, med kits, pills, etc. infection is not a problem in this game one bit. Nightmare/insane difficulty. Me and a couple mates played afterlife and it’s fun for sure. Should give it a go! 💜
Pull up the escape from Tarkov nutrition page for the characters if you wanna see real food mechanics. Lol, it will make you nauseous looking at everything. Damn near need a med degree to just figure out what you’re looking at 🤣
@@bannankev Afterlife is the first time I've died from the infection since A18 War3zuk's and that was one of the 'new' kind of infection from that mod. Mostly cause I didn't know the mechanics introduced in either mod that delt with infections.
i tried this mod but comming from 2 yr of Undead legacy i cant enjoy the limitation like slow progress and no broadcast storage ability.
I should have known. Don't really know why but I never liked TemCam... there is something about his face that makes me suspicious about him! GO GET TemCam

i was excited to try AfterLife but after seeing you totally assaulted 24/7 by zombies im no longer interested. thats just an obscene amount of zombies for early game.
If I have to choose between many soft zombies or few tanky zombies, I'll take the former any day

If they were going for realism the lanterns and flashlights should be take-able, but in the same token they should also be out of fuel/batteries if they've been there for any length of time.

I liked the symmetry of beating the cop with a baton.
Two pots, two campfires to speed up water production.
Well, you can drink 5 liters of water at once and still be moderately thirsty, not to mention the zombies constantly teleporting to your location, as well as an incredible amount of wildlife just casually being hunted by said zombies.
All very realistic.
This mod is great, but, there are critical bugs.
The game starts crashing if you open the fabric armor crafting, and also, although it's probably not a bug, I was disappointed by the lack of stun baton in the crafting. I understand it was cut?

The constant pour harassments of zombies if very annoying . i wish it was like in vanilla . they are like dam feralsense on , but is off ....
They can't sense you more than in vanilla, there is just many of them, they spawn constantly and they chase the many animals that also spawn constantly, so you get some on you all the time.

Okay... i'm restarting my playthrough of this mod. My start compared to this is insanely lacking lol. The loot you are getting is insanely good compared to what I have been able to come up with. I am also going to do another map gen with towns/poi's maxed. Not being able to find a city is a slow death waiting to happen heh.
One thing I really miss about having glass jars is completely impractical and useless, but the dang things are PRETTY. I love how, when empty, they've got patterns on them like the ones in my pantry. Tiny little detail, but I always got a kick out of that. That's one change that bugs me a little. I could understand glass jars being bloody RARE, most of them being broken. I could even see needing a bit of a special something (early-ish forge mod after the bellows?) to craft them. But eliminated? Hmm.
I tried this mod. Played 8 game days could not find the last 3 blueberries to craft a map but most importantly I almost went blind playing with FULL Z-Virus infection because it makes your graphics look worse than Minecraft on ULTRA LOW and could not explore with so low vision and no map to find the 3 berries and then my way back to base!
Decent mod but they truly have to rework the Z virus mechanic otherwise its extremely cancerous to the player!!!

Playing yesterday this felt quite unbalanced, somehow zombies were just raining over me nonstop. As in not even 10 seconds of pause nonstop. On downtown, though, it's barely 5 seconds lol

Sadly this mod seems pretty unstable. Must have froze or closed down five times. Kept shutting down Steam repeatedly too . . . addit after a vanilla game update it works fine!

There are a few strange decisions in this mod pack (wildlife not fleeing, zombies ragdolling like crazy, no vendors), but it seems interesting enough to try it out.
Peas=pea soup, corn meal = corn bread and tortillas, raw meat - Many options! Of course, in 7d2d your options are limited!
I'm loving the story narrative you've got going on with this playthrough, plus the editing is top notch!
What is kind of annoying is that you cannot scrap a good chunk of items. There is no way to sell items either.
They just collect space or you discard them somewhere and they encumber you in the meantime.
A recycling station to turn weapons, tools, etc into respective parts for alternate use would be pretty cool but its like the Lathe in darkness falls where its loot only? 🤔
So the story continues. Can't wait for this series. Maybe I'll pick up afterlife too since I reached the 'now what' point in my latest 7 days play through.
How do I enable the option to see the POI names?
Hope they didnt remove that as I dont know every POI of by heart, so unsure of how difficult some are in comparison to others.

I installed this and did start playing it a bit but I really don't like the UI that much, it feels like it's squished and doesn't fit the normal aspect ratio. That paired with all the unfamiliar icons and intermediate clutter in the inventory just makes it hard to navigate.

Chopping a tree down so the timber hits and kill your game is the finest and most unexpected way of hunting I've seen in a long time 😅

I tried this and it is crazy hard. Day 2 in the forest trying to find a town and i run into a pack of 3 irradiated zombies. On day 2.

No map and no compass. Does anyone know if you spawn on the same spot in MP? Because if not, it could take weeks to finally find each other.

This is one of my favorite overhauls. Without giving anything away let me just say collect every scrap of paper you can. Also 5000 dukes is 50 pounds so...
I am also loving this overhaul. I told him to start collecting those glowing mushrooms at night...but, of course, didn't say why 😄
I like the vitality and weight system and many other aspects but I hate that it has fantasy zombies. Shooting fireballs.
I just want a realistic zombie apocalypse sim mod. Oh well, time to keep waiting for Undead Legacy at the end of the year.

Why the insistence with needing magazines to craft essentials? Undead Legacy handled it better with the research station to get what you need, instead of hoping to find it.

you needed to keep that scrap sledgehammer to bust open that reward chest , i keep always those sledgehammers as long i don't have a better tool to open up chests( loot loooot loooooooottttt ) 😉 . i do have to say some recipes make no cense ( scrap paper to make a workbench ) love the content looking forward to see more .

My boyfriend and I have been playing this and are on Day 20. It was hard turning to this incredibly slow progression after we played War of the Walkers where progression is so fast.

@@jennifercrittendon6062 To anyone reading this, don't even bother. You get barely any water, waste time or constantly bump into zombies and terrain and it forces you to get wet instead of seeking shelter and keeping your vitality up. Drinking rain is one of the least time-efficient things you can do, only useful if you are for some reason stuck outside and can't move. Seek plastic barrels and water fountains in buildings instead, they have a chance to contain water.
I'm not positive, but do they even appear before you find the note telling you about them? I don't remember seeing any while he was running around on that first night.
@@jennifercrittendon6062 Yeah, I didn't figure that out until I died from dehydration a few times cause I didn't realize the 'Notes' you find actually show up in the journal rather than being 'read' off the dang pages themselves.
