This is a Keno $1 million dollar ticket(before taxes) home that the owners tried to emulate the style of a Powerball winning ticket home. To built this so close to a strip mall, on that tiny lot with all of the tacky chandeliers means these the owners were definitely Hood Rich for a hot second!

I had a friend in high school whos mom was from Italy. They had a kitchen in their basement (nothing like THAT kitchen! LOL) but that was the mom's "cooking kitchen." And she was an AMAZING cook! The upstairs/main kitchen was like "just for show" and was always immaculate. The real cooking happened downstairs. LOL

It needs a savvy realtor who will convince the seller to spend about 150k to get the house ready for market. Start by removing all the chandeliers, stage the entire house with tasteful, high-end furniture. Clean up the outside. Remove the drapery and any other "personal taste" features like the vanity sinks. Refinish the bedrooms wood flooring to match the rest of the house. Paint the kitchen cabinets white.Figure out a better location for both fridges. Enlarge the master bedroom closet.

There’s definitely a story behind this house. The number of dining areas are excessive. I don’t know what to think. Was this a spontaneous project? Did the owners win or inherit a large amount of money? Did they eventually run out of money? Were they given bad advice? Did the contractor swindle them or go along with questionable building practices? I would talk to the neighbors.

In a reverse universe the house would have been there first and the smaller houses were bringing the numbers down in the neighborhood. That railing leading to the lower level was scary, it literally was a death trap. I do not think anyone is going to buy that house anytime soon. If it does sell they would have to price it between six and seven hundred thousand dollars. Or, maybe give it away in a raffle. We crack you up Jonathan, it is the other way around, you crack us up. You make our day. Please let us know in one of your videos when the house does sell, even if it 2 years from now. I do not think your followers will ever forget this tour.

Design wise first thing that popped in my head was gone with the wind but the space itself is awesome. I noticed in every room it had a it extra wasted space. The house is too big and so out of place for this neighborhood. There is hardly any backyard space. As for the indoor pool, it looks just like one of those lap pools. The kids won't like it. I had a second thought. There is probably no other single family home in the area that would compare at this selling price. I thought the rule was never over improve your home, check the comps in the area before you agree to build or over improve your property unless you plan to live in the home for life. If you sell comps have to be considered for setting a selling price or take your chances ask high but know you may lose a lot of money.

  • @sleuththewild

The self-indulgence of these homes blows my mind. Selfish, too. I see no effort to limit power use: no solar, no mini-splits, no heat pumps, no extensive insulation, no efficient water heaters.... Instead, this is another example of a gas guzzler: colossal rooms, extremely high ceilings, too many rooms unless you're indulging in large parties,.
The bathrooms have no style or elegance. The fake floors. The faux pilasters. And the Victorian curtains are just oh-so-no. That tub looks like an outsize toilet.
This house is not current any way to Sundays. It's not just that it's the wrong house on the wrong road and dated, but it's thoughtless: there's no indication that the designers or owners ever sided with the rest of us in being concerned with climate change and the need for energy efficiencies.
It's a Roman party palace, right out of the Satyricon. Why, it's even got a hang-out pool. Just needs drunk and drugged partiers in togas.

This won't sell for more than1.75 and that's being very generous.
I think the previous owners did a lot of personalization and maybe had an elder living with them so mom had her own basement kitchen/pool for rehab and there was lots of space for family visits. But there's too much indoor space and not enough outdoor space and houses at this price point shouldn't have doors banging into each other to enter the bathroom.
If they can move this house to a different lot and start over with a house scaled for the neighborhood then it may be worth the investment. Otherwise, the amount of money needed to fix this house may be better spent on a new build elsewhere.

The inconsistencies in flooring, lighting, and location of appliances are minor concerns. The additional/duplicating spaces should simply be appreciated, as they invite creativity. Unless they do a big reduction this house will sit for over a year. There's a lot of work that needs to be done, both kitchens needs a lot of work, it look like they may have had carpet in the bedrooms and took it out and put in whatever flooring was available. I feel like the home owners did not think a head for when they wanted to sell the property. From the neighborhood, and questionable taste of styles inside the house,I find it to be tacky and a complete eyesore for the neighborhood. I know everyone’s tastes are different but I would not buy this property.

This house is going to be hard to sell considering its location. Its out of place in that neighborhood. The small backyard and patio are abysmal. They Very downstairs layout is very odd. I'm confused by the various bedroom flooring. I like the master bedroom flooring, and that would be my choice throughout the home. The master bedroom/bathroom/closet needs to be completely reconfigured. For a house that size it is lacking in storage/closet space. The basement is horrible, except for the flooring. The house is a great big disappointing waste of space.

When the basement fridge breaks down, how will they replace it 🤔. You definitely can’t get it out easily if you can’t even open the doors completely.

If you want, you could buy up the whole cul-de-sac and they could all move away and then you would have a bigger lot :-) put in a pond - enough said -you’re close to town

I’m going to try to be as nice as I can, it seems to me that the builder had an end to builder’s surplus. At first glance, the exterior had flagstone at the gates but walls of cider block. Too much hodge podge.

Cut it up into apartments. I usually hate that, but in this case, there aren’t many options.

18:40 - this house was DEFINITELY built by a handyman/owner/resident/general contractor. Nothing matches because they used leftovers from client projects. I would love to see if any of this work was permitted.

It looks like the people who built the house came into a large sum of money and just wanted to get everything in a home that they ever imagined they would get if they had the money so they just shoved it all in there regardless of what it look like. They may have also wanted to flex a little bit by building a house of that size in a neighborhood like that. I feel like I would drop 1.5 mil off the asking price because of the location and the personalization alone. So much of it would have to be redone anyway to work for whoever would move in next. It could be an Airbnb if they decide not to change it but even then, it stands that this is a very very personalized house.
