I would definitely need an architect and engineer to undo Dr. Frankenstein's creation! LMAO😂😂😂
This house gives me updated-retro "Brady Bunch" vibes. But it's kinda cool. 🤷🏾♀️
I immediately thought Brady Bunch. LOL
@@bford3977 Me too after I saw that yellow kitchen counter😁
This house is CRAZY! I got dizzy trying to follow you.
Who was the architect Rick James
"Cocaine Isa hellava drug"
$895k is a steal. These layouts though! Good Lord! I would still be in there trying to get out LOL That house needs an additional HVAC system. One is not enough.
Yes, this is definitely a teardown and renovate situation.
This is literally the house to die for with all those glass doors that you can open and potentially plunge to your death. That house would not have passed city code where I live. If one wants to maintain the exterior esthetics, then they would have to put a lot of money into removing the doors and making windows instead. If they are not concerned with maintaining the looks of the structure they can also build balcony's off of each of the rooms with the doors, it might be cheaper. However, I find the house quite interesting.
🤣
lol Talk about your 70's party pad. I can't believe that house was built in '81. I that back ... there was probably a lot of "A Flock of Seagulls" blasting out of that house, with a roofline to match. Just like them, I'd run. I'd run so far away. 🤣😂🤣
I actually like this house. Even though the house needs some upgrades, everything seems to be well taken care. If you just installed new countertops in the kitchen, it will look so much more updated. I kinda like the cabinets.
Same! I like the cabinets. Just painting the finger-pulls would help. Floors are great. That second bathroom (with the dark tub) is too big for the size vanity they installed.
I like the house as is. Except I would add a deck and balcony to the back. And a walk out patio under the deck.
This house is cool. It probably had a continuous wood deck that had to be torn down due to decay. This home was well maintained. It's a gem for someone who wants to bring it into this millennium.
You’re probably right about the deck. I think this house has the potential to be really cool
You walk in the front door, take a few steps, and trip over the meager wall into the depths of the house below. Huge safety issue.
You walk out the sliding doors in the living room, and you'd need a parachute. It needs a deck. Even while they're selling the house, they should put dowels in the door runners.
There is a safety issue with the single step ups and step downs; those floors are pretty, though.
The interior doors are low-end: they need replacing. Easy fix.
Look at all that storage area in the attic! What's not to like?
That room with the bankettes would make a great workout room if there's built-in air circulation.
I don't think that court is for pickleball. It's for racquetball.
It needs landscaping and a fence. The yard is big enough for a dog, without overdoing on yard work. The latter is a HUGE plus. Mature trees.
I'm with Jonathan: I like this house. And it's been very well kept.
That house is a steal!
The exterior of this home along with the surrounding wooded area remind me of homes you might see in the mountains. As for the interior, the house has been very well taken care of over the years. The kitchen is probably my favorite. I like the layout and the island eating area is very cool along with the bar stools. I would not change the cabinets because they look really nice. The appliances would need to be updated and maybe change the countertops. The living area along with the bedrooms are of a good size. The bathrooms need updating although the giant jacuzzi tub and walk in shower are really cool. Things that definitely need addressing are the cheap hollow doors, windows, and sliding doors. A deck on the back of the house would have to be built just to ensure your safety. I just don't understand what they were thinking with those sliding doors. New exterior and interior paint would really update this house immensely. I would love to buy this house if I had the additional $300,000 it would cost to update. Great job showing us the house, Jonathan!!
I agree with all your ideas and observations. And would add, the wood floors seem really nice too!
Beautiful, but the bathrooms must go! Add some balconies outside those floor-to-ceiling windows. The "pickleball court" would be converted to a grilling area/sanctuary for outdoor living. Exterior paint needs to be changed also.
This is a renovator’s dream. Whoever buys this house will need to renovate it from the ground up!
With a bulldozer.
I like the house. It has a unique design. I agree with Jonathan; I would love to see how the new owners will transform the retro house.
That attic 🫢🫣😬
I love this house! This is my vibe I’d just gut the bathrooms!
The house is a neat home....Feels like it was kept dated on purpose but updated what needed to be updated. In the right hands it could be a great home with some more changes/updates....
I enjoyed the room-by-room commentary, especially where you wonder why doors lead out to nothing. The house has potential. If I owned it, I would get rid of the shark fins.
I hate, hate cooking ranges on top islands. Don’t care if the kitchen is brand new with all the bells and whistles. All I can see, kids reaching over and touching the hot stove. That’s just how my mind works 😂😂
I love it. I'm a sucka for unique designs. It has a lot of character. Some things I would definitely change to modernize it like the kitchen and bathrooms. I would add a patio and balcony and do the rest that is unfinished.
Congratulations to you on your 7,000+ subscribers!! Cheers to many more.
My daughter and I love your videos.
Thank you for the love
Nice house. Build decks off of all sliding doors. Replace all windows. Update Kitchen & Baths. Great house!
Come for the scenery. Stay for the suicide drop room. Super awesome house! Thank you.
I love it!!!!❤ That attic could be such a fun spot for kids with proper ac. That primary bedroom was amazing. Those doors were probably a cheaper alternative in the 80s to pane glass we have today. It is a shame it doesn't have land though. Yes, it needs work but I really hope the people who buy this don't put in cookie-cutter trendy bathrooms and kitchens. Thanks so much for showing this ❤
My pleasure!
I would use the dining room as the living room, and use the family room in back as the dining room.
I love all things retro and I love that house. I would leave the kitchen as is and just get a new cooktop, dishwasher and take out the trash compactor. Update the bathrooms, put in a wrap around deck and new windows. Plus the price is great too. Humm do I want to move to the east coast???
Jonathan, that upper attic is good for storage only, not for hanging out. The house is huge and quirk. Will take lots of money to make modern and functional.
Yeah you’re probably right.
LOVE the kitchen cabinets. Great kitchen. The whole house isn’t for me but deserves to be left alone for historical sake. Obviously needs a deck outside of the family rooms and there are issues with the windows. What’s interesting is that outside looks total 80s, but inside has a mid century vibe.
I totally agree!
1 acre in Columbia under a mill😮....SOLD!!!!...weird or not....kind of a HOT MESS 2 me....but it's livable
I like the kitchen as-is!
I would take out the trash compactor, but I agree!!!
Fin house is definitely UNIQUE. Love the wooded neighborhood, total plus. I would cut the fins down a foot above the roofline. I love all the wood in the house, would leave that as is. The first thing I would do is spend the money and build a deck that expands the whole length of the house, I like nature. Doesn’t have to be huge since yard not deep. I would paint all the walls a warm color, beige, taupe whatever goes best with the wood. I think some art work placed in certain places to cut the hard angles wood work. I wouldn’t change the kitchen or bathrooms now, but would later on. The color of the house is dating, should be maybe earthy tones color. Definitely a house for a lot of kids and it is possible you may not hear a lot of noise with all the angles. I would like this house, major possibilities, never bored here, but gotta have a deck outside kitchen and even on ground level needs a deck. Not sure comps in the area but could need money for upgrades. Cool.
I love this house. If I had the money and the lot were bigger, I would buy it in a heartbeat. There is very little that I would change. I would of course change the safety issue with the sliders and replace the window that needed replacing. In the kitchen, I would change out the ceramic tile countertops but the rest of the kitchen would stay as is.
I wonder if the sliding doors were originally supposed to be just glass windows, but maybe the doors were cheaper than the glass for the windows.
There is a house that looks remarkably like this, located just outside Tucson Arizona in Pima County. It was built in 1968. My lifelong friend's parents had the house built and he still resides in it. His mother was an architect at an architectural firm. She was the lead designer on the project. The couple did not ultimately build the home as the husband was transferred. Several years later the couple contacted her about obtaining a copy of the drawings.
Old counter tops & cabinets, the first thing new owner will do is get rid of the spider leg flying fins on the roof. Extremely dangerous sliding glass doors that you can practice sky diving from🤔 Awkward😳 Thanks for sharing 👍🏾
This house is interesting! So many nooks and crannies going on! I would love to see the renovations of this house🤔🧐
OMG I love this house! It's different! Wish this was in California! The fins are for the sun, keep it off the windows. There had to be a deck for all those sliders. Would change the shower back to a shower in the master. Love it!
I totally agree!
😊This house gave me group home vibes or something like that. The door upstairs that lead to nowhere was acutely peculiar. 😮
Not my style house, but it's beautiful! It's artistic without being too overwhelming or gaudy. Some safety concerns that can be addressed without disrupting the overall design. Seeing that sharp corner upon entering gave me low key anxiety. It was like being presented with a weapon. It gave a FAFO vibe. There's a lot of energy moving in that house with all of those angled edges, and it's kinda of chaotic. The natural wood tones help slow the flow giving one time to process the unconventional appearance. The kitchen was my favorite. It's very inviting. It surprisingly grounds the energy. The whole house is very artistic. The fact that each house in the neighborhood is different is the type of area I would buy in to.
Dope house and Price right....this won't last on the market. Best wishes to the buyer!!😍
Cool house! I see a long pationto go under those sliding doors.
This house is the stuff of nightmares. Perfect to film a horror movie in. I could not hate it more. 😂
Sitting nook
😂😂😂
J its called a conversation pit
Other comments notwithstanding, I don’t think this house is nearly as confusing as most other houses Jonathan has shown! Once it has relevant furniture in it all the rooms, I don’t think you’d get mixed up.
The mature landscape is very appealing.
This house is unique and it needs a lot of TLC and your own touch too. But it's a nice house.😮
I love it !!!
Not much I would change, but put a balcony up, and make the attic into a fantastic playroom for kids.
Guestrooms in the basement
Good price and Columbia Maryland is a very desirable location. Too many rooms for me. Save the plant.
It can be a beautiful house, but you're going to have to invest about $400K to get it to the next level
The house's flaws are too pervasive fix.
The buyer will most definitely would need to invest in an engineer and architect.
Please let us know if this house sells. I could never. The windows and my vertigo would never blend.
I love this house!
It’s very cool, but requires so much upgrading (kitchen, windows and bathrooms at a minimum) that will add hundreds of thousands to the total cost. I, too, would love to see what the future owners do with it. Definitely for the more creative and artsy types (with tons of expendable income). Thanks for the tour!
I would still try to keep the retro vibes of the house, but it does need a lot work. There is not enough outside space to do anything. I would try to create a covered patio downstairs. Put rails across the windows upstairs to give a Juliet balcony effect.
Lets get this channel to 10,000 by the 4th of july !
Yes!!
The angles are neat, I see nothing wrong, very geometrical, like you said, appreciate it. However, the walls of sliding doors with no deck, are very ODD and it looks like there was never a deck but functional sliding doors. As they would say in Alice in Wonderland, curiouser and curiouser.
Security risk maze house that needs updating.
Can you say M A Z E?😮
It gives an older vibe with modern fixes… it needs to be gutted and remodeled to take out the sections when you walk in. It has potential.
Confusing, but cute.
This is a modern day Winchester House. Put a sign outside and make up ghost stories.
A little room for change..but it's definitely got potential if you have the money to make just a few changes like for one change the windows 🪟 those sliding doors/windows gotta go..that upstairs area for me would be closed off..among a few other things..I like the house cause it's different 😉
It’s giving ASIAN Theme.not bad but not for me that upstairs gave me CREEY / SCAREY MOVIE VIBE
It's a "no" for me 😂
Hello, this house overall is a good house. Definitely has an eclectic vibe. Not a lot of yard space. Definitely can put a pool by the pickle ball court. I love the big tub in the master bedroom. I would Defintely do some updates regarding flooring, bathrooms etc, kitchen change the countertops but overall I like it. Not for me put I can see someone buying it. I would definitely update the outside color as well. lol! Cool house
Not my style but those that like it will have to really love this house because all those little projects will add up.
Does anyone know if its even legal for all of these "sliding door" on second floor as windows? I wouldn't put this as an Air BnB for that alone. It only takes one fool to bankrupt you.
This house is why DIYers need to hire a licenced archetict. It feels like a set on the Twilight Zone. The definition of form over function. A virtual escher drawing of oddly shaped rooms and spaces. What a nighmare to furnish or live in. So much unusable or wasted spaces. Adding to the visual and functional chaos are all those floor step ups and step downs. It's like the owners hired Picasso as their architect. Your poor guests are going to be leaving either strapped to a gurney or wearing a straight jacket with so many tripping and falling hazards waiting them. Building a large desk running the length of the house would certainly improve the mainlevel function and safety. But it would need to be balcony narrow, to prevent spoiling the light to the lower floor. I would think the novelty of living in such functional chaos would be short lived for most potential buyers..
I don't like the look when you walk in...Gut job the kitchen for sure.
You can’t use that house as an AirBnB with those sliding doors leading to nowhere 🤷🏽♀️
The staging was done nicely. The inside has too many sectional areas..
Did anyone other than me notice the door to the right of the primary suite sliding door when looking out. Which room has that exit door to a sudden drop?
Pass, I don't like the style of this home. But outside is very nice
This house….it’s giving me anxiety. 😂
I can live with the inside with many updates but I don't like the outside....I don't like the shark fin.
😬My OCD brain is in super distress with this home with so many odd-angled rooms and sharp corners. It's a no from me. I'm out. 😔
I disagree. The house more than likely had decks and balconys to begin within. They probably were in bad shape or not up to code and had to be removed. The sellers are probably selling the property as is and letting any potential buyers decide what kind of deck they wish to install.
Too many angles. House has a creepy vibe.
Hated it! Just NO!
I think it's called minimalist.
Where exactly is this house? Not necessarily the address, but the locale.
I like its uniqueness and space, but I could do without the top floor and the lower basement.
I love it and it's worth it
Any sliding doors in the attic?
To much unusable space.
GLORY!!!'m favoured, $140K every 3weeks! And am retired i can now give back to the locals in my community and also support God's work and the church. God bless America 🇺🇸 ❤️
I'm in a similar situation where should I look to increase income? Do you have any advice? What did you do? Thank you
Really feel your pain, when I was even almost down my God sent to me Elizabeth Ann Larson services cryp to to me and changed the game automatically
YES!!! That's exactly her name (Elizabeth Ann Larson) so many people have recommended highly about her and am just starting with her 😊 from Brisbane Australia🇦🇺
Same here, with my current portfolio made from my investments with my personal financial advisor (Elizabeth Ann Larson) I totally agree with you
Such a genuine personality!!, Sincerely speaking.
I will continue to trade and stick to Elizabeth Ann daily signals and guides as long as it works well for me.
The house is crazy, I like crazy, it works in a weird way.
Money pit.
I'm speechless .............. And not in a good way! lol
lol
Too much going on for me.
Is Avant- guard a style? This is form someone who wants a one of a kind house.
Not worth almost a million dollars.
HEY
Demolish
Very nice home but it's missing my favorite fixture which is a big disco ball and I love your channel.
OMG! CAN YOU SAY TOTAL DISASTER! NOTHING ABOUT THE HOUSE IS APPEALING! WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY AND ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN! EVERYTHING ABOUT THE HOUSE IS CONFUSING!
It is different.
As soon as you opened the door it was a no for me. Because of the layout.
I did like that island in the kitchen
