    I am so like you. I am vegan to the extreme. I prep everything from scratch myself. I don’t buy anything vegan out there. I do it all myself. My family and friends, even my husband think that I am exaggerating. I don’t use oils, I do my own broth powder, etc. And I don’t know how I got your site, but I am so loving it. thank you so much for all you do.

    • @maureens2812
      @maureens2812 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@L4TRUTH Going oil free was so much easier than I thought. Just Google whatever you want to do and someone will show you. Basically using this site and a few others will give you oil free recipes. But for example if you are trying to brown onions just use broth instead of oil to not have them stick. But onions have a lot of water and you may not need the broth. Also, once your taste buds change and they will, you can use water if you prefer.

    I love the talk show idea. It’s needed. My daughter at the age of 12 asked if we could become vegans. I didn’t even know what that was. 😂 I supported her, but I realize she was God sent and so was her message. I’m 51 and my vitals are always fantastic. My doctor said once that she wouldn’t have any patients if they all did what I was doing. Of course I exercise and get 8 hours a sleep. I don’t just feel great physically but emotionally and mentally. I feel more focused and in control. My body is a temple and my health is my wealth.

    I never missed the animal protein at all. What I missed was the dairy, milk in my coffee, and cheese. Now there are so many wonderful plant-based dairy products, problem solved. Been vegan since June 2006, I can easily improvise any recipe from standard to vegan, even with baking.

    Excellent interview. It's weird because I somehow stumbled onto Charlie's IG page about six months ago & I have watched several of his & his wife's interviews & just last night I stumbled on Javant's IG page in a similar manner. I've been eating a WFPBD for nearly nineteen years now but I still need to dial it in a bit & Javant, your recipes, outlook, & enthusiasm is just the ticket to motivate me. We're on a very similar path you & me. I read the same books, became a certified holistic nutritionist, etc. I just need to exercise more, plain & simple. Now, the problem I have with discovering folks like Charlie & Javant is that we are all living in different corners of the world. Wouldn't be nice if we could all be neighbors? I live in a part of the southeast that does not eat this way, nor are they too quick to want to learn about it making it difficult to find certain foods. Anyway, great interview guys, much appreciated.

    I really didn't know about the "vegan" products not being healthy. Thank you for the information. What do you use instead of oil for cooking.

    Would you avoid unsweetened coconut, hazelnuts, or vegan butter? I hope that when you create your cookbook, you have information that adds to the healthy way of eating. Love your recipes. Thank you

      I don't use any vegan butter. Coconut, like Nutritional Yeast, is a food I only eat a few times per year, if at all. I prefer to keep my saturated fat consumption low, and coconut has lots of it.

    IT IS YOU KNOW YOU NEED AND WANT TO EAT BETTER BUT I HEAR AND SEE IN THESE PLANT BASED VIDEOS ABOUT WHY YOU SHOULD SWITCH BUT MOST OF US HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO COOK OR EVEN WHAT THE INGREDIENTS USED ARE WHAT AND HOW TO USE LIKE MAKING AND WHAT TO USE FOR A BALANCED DIET FOR INSTANCE PROTEIN ETC….WHAT I WISH FOR IS A TRULY TOTALLY BEGINNER I MEAN TOTALLY BEGINNER FRIENDLY. IF I EVER GET THERE I WILL MAKE VIDEOS THAT I WISH I COULD HAVE SEEN…. I AM SURE A GOOD VIDEO I WILL GO UNTIL I FIND THE ONE FOR ME THAT WILL HELP ME AND OTHERS…

    Why eliminate nutritional yeast? At a Vegan restaurant, I had very good vegan mac and cheese that was made with nutritional yeast. Also, At a vegan food truck, I have had a delicious vegan crab cake made with green jackfruit. Do you have a good recipe for crab cakes using green jackfruit?

    • @healthyveganeating
      @healthyveganeating  ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I actually decided to continue using a certain type of nutritional yeast that is certified organic. I have made delicious crab cakes and will be posting them here. I used hearts of palms.

    One of my friends recommended you to me today, as I have been searching for a healthy recipe (without coconut oil) for a margarine substitute. I have already watched a lot of your videos, and you’re doing a fantastic job! Does Charlie Johnson also have a TH-cam channel? Thank you!

      I do use it occasionally for making recipes, but i only eat it then.

      @@healthyveganeating Like it or not - you are my vegan "guru". After a year of my resisting my doctor encouraging me to go plant-based because of my rising cholesterol numbers, your Instagram slowly planted the seed and one too many Netflix food documentaries pushed me over the edge. I have been eating plant based since the start of the new year, I haven't missed meat once and I'm having the time of my life eating delicious plant-based meals, thanks to your recipes and recommendations. So all of that is in preparation of my asking if I can probe a little deeper into the "why" of the occasional use of nutritional yeast. It sounds like you have some reservations to frequent use of it. I ask because it is in so many recipes of other vegan chefs. Thanks!

    I am persuaded, if more people ate like you, our prisons would empty out considerably. Wish someone (you?) could start a prison program with this kind of healthy food, perhaps partly grown on prison grounds.

    Great interview ! I’m so happy I found your channel today ! I can’t wait to start this vegan journey, but some people say to stay away from mushrooms cuz it can cause candida or fungus in the body so of course someone like myself with health anxiety makes me scared to eat mushrooms 🙈🥲 also does Mr. Johnson have a utube channel as well ?
    Thank you !

    • @healthyveganeating

      Store bought mushrooms are super healthy foods and don’t cause those things. However, do what resonates as truth to you.
