Great video! I do a fair amount of fly fishing in this same spot so thank you for sharing but not spot burning. The long way in makes it a very rewarding spot once you get there and I’ve never seen another person while fishing.
Sub'd instantly. Cali boy here and grew up fishing the ocean, but really want to explore fishing our freshwaters. Absolutely beautiful place. Thank you sir!
Thanks Jeff! I swear it feels like tenkara was made for the Sierra. Such a great way to fish up there. But it is really nice having places in socal that are also great for it
Thanks for starting this channel, Terry. I was fascinated with tenkara while doing some expat work in Korea. Haven't considered trying in LA, but now I wonder about the possibilities. Thank you.
Awesome brotha! heading to norcal from the east coast over the next couple weeks, getting ready to guide up on the freather in plumas forest next spring, stoked to see some nice trout fishing in socal!
Great Tenkara experience and very nice Channel. I recognize you from Kurenai Klub, did not see the Kurenai II AR 39 F did you ever get replacement sections? You sure put the Traveler 39 and Itoshiro to good work. Incredible Tenkara action here in So.Cal !!! You ROCK!!
I definitely recommend going downstream from where you accessed the stream and fishing the area from there to the confluence below if you haven't tried it yet. Such a nice area and nice vid!
Thanks so much for the kind words and compliment Aaron. What kind of water do you regularly fish? If its a small-medium sized creek with open air (like in this video), take a look at the Dragontail Shadowfire 365. Great entry-level all-rounder. If you plan on fishing very small creeks with lots of overhead tree cover/less space, check out the Dragontail Kaida. Its a shorter rod yet has 2 zoomable lengths. If you have any more questions feel free to ask, Id be happy to help out
Thank you. Here on this channel, I will name some bodies of water that I fish and many will go unnamed. This is for conservation and preservation purposes, as places that see a lot of traffic here in LA get trashed (you’ll see in upcoming videos what happens to heavily traveled bodies of water). What I do is mainly use Google satellite to find bodies of water out here that I want to try fishing, and most videos that I post will be in water found this way. It’s also a more rewarding way of discovering what’s out here in SoCal. Thanks for watching!
Wow dude some of those fish are tanks ! Looks like a fun outing trout fishing not far from town !

Thank you for the support and kind words! The more I fish tenkara the more I’m convinced that it’s suitable anywhere
@IHikeandFish makes sense, especially with no room for full casts
This is in socal! Incredible! I usually travel to Wyoming every summer for fly fishing, but I might have to check this place out.
Thanks! We actually have some pretty amazing waters down here in Socal

Nice fish for such small water. Not sure if I have fished that creek.

Feather looks amazing. Would love to head out there one day. Hope it's an incredible experience for you!
Nice, started doing tenkara near mount Baldy, nothing big but they make up for it in color.
Sweet, just went out there a couple weeks ago! Same experience for me, but it was a really nice creek
I will have to try Tenkara method someday :) It looks fun!

Is that area open now? After checking I see it’s open on weekends and Federal holidays. How far back did you go?
I've made my way back about 4 miles at the furthest
Lytle?
Why happy but u let the fish go?
I've fished my whole life and have released 99% of my fish. The rest i eat and give away. It's not about keeping everything we catch.
Nice video! Sunscribed
I've been fishing Tenkara for a few yrs when im out in the backcountry along 395 Light weight and minimal gear. 👌 Thx 4 video
Thank you for the support. Tenkara feels like it was made for the 395 backcountry!
