    I really appreciate all you guys that you tube these videos from ICAST, who else is with me?

      Thanks so much. I am trying to kick out these videos daily. Fell behind today...my air conditioner at house went out and we are in the middle of a remodel. Dad is visiting also from Iowa so trying to not work him too hard. 😉
      I will have a bunch of iCAST videos this week. 👍👍

      Cool I try to kick out videos, I want to do more salt videos but my schedule keeps me driving a few 100 miles a week to fish.

    The last few minutes of on water footage was bad ass. Love that they highlight where the boats are made and the people behind the Feelfree brand in Thailand. It’s not just an oversees factory pumping out plastic. These guys live fishing just like the rest of us.

      I have footage of their plant operations in Thailand. It looks like a VERY clean well maintained facility with a good crew of rotomolders. Just as clean and well done if not better than some of the rotomolding facilities I worked in the U.S. I was impressed with how skilled they are on post mold prepping. They provided me nearly 30min of footage to work with for editing that last Thailand scene. I just chose to not share the rotomolding footage.

      That Thailand footage at end turned out great. Took me few hours to find copyright free music to match with footage setting. Fun editing. This kayak is a show stopper. It stands out more so than any kayak at iCAST.

    • @KayakDIY
      @KayakDIY  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      This kayak was definitely the most popular kayak at iCAST last year. Hopefully this one is well liked as well. The last 2 minutes were fun to edit. I spent hours trying to find music to fit those scenes.

    Thanks for the update on the dorado. I was curious what your opinion is of the sea eagle inflatable FS126 with the swivel seat. Seems like an incredible deal with all that is included. Was it at icast and what are your thoughts? Thanks in advance.

      I didn’t see it there, but I like the SeaEagle products. They had a boat that had two seats and outboard on it. The boat was $2k.

    Thanks Justin,
    Any more info on how the peddle drive and motor drive work together? Can you switch instantly from peddle to power?

    • @KayakDIY
      @KayakDIY  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      KretzOAR the motor simply pops in and out of the pedal drive. It is almost like a clutch. So it is super quick transition.

    Some one replied to me. Price, length, in water demo, time on battery, speed, extra battery price. I want something stealth like this so I don't have to register it and keep paying for ever for life.

  • @Elthenar
    @Elthenar 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I ordered one, and I think I am going to love it. I have to say though, no way would I buy the motor drive system. None, no chance at all. For the same 1400 dollars, I could buy a high end, GPS enabled saltwater trolling motor with more thrust and an order of magnitude more functionality. If you buy a compatible fish finder to pair with it, you can set an autopilot to follow waypoints and drive you to the fishing hole on it's own while you eat a ham sandwich, drink a and watch Netflix on your phone. Or, look up anchor mode and wish you had it on windy days where you are trying to stay over the honey hole.

    • @KayakDIY
      @KayakDIY  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      😂 can’t say I blame you. That sounds like great time. I too want ham sandwiches,Netflix, drinks and fishing!

    • @Elthenar
      @Elthenar 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KayakDIY The capabilities of a modern GPS trolling motor is just ridiculous. Set it to cruise you at like 1 MPH down a mangrove line while you cast and troll a live bait at the same time. It's a whole new world lol.

    • @KayakDIY

      Elthenar I played with it some at iCAST. I believe the company was called ProNav. They had a few units installed on Nucanoe kayaks.

    • @cup_and_cone
      @cup_and_cone 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It costs vendors money for outdoor demos. Probably was not 'worth it' to them. There's only so much for users to learn in a tiny drainage pond.

      thechosendude probably right. Looks fishy when they don’t tho. Bonafide and OT were more than happy to show theirs on the water, and even tho the RS117 was just a prototype.

    Made with pride in Thailand. Meh...I think I'll stick to kayaks made in the USA, thanks.

    • @KayakDIY
      @KayakDIY  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Options are limited...but nothing wrong supporting American products. Some folks support American made in other ways. I doubt all the things you own are made in USA. I buy all my tools from American companies. Options get limited with kayaks. I own US kayaks, New Zealand kayaks, Chinese, Thailand, Canadian, South African, and more. Just depends what type of kayak I want and need. The options for offshore kayaks dwindles if I stick to just USA made kayaks. Easier said than done.

      @@minutesagoedited9761 It doesn't cost 3k to build this thing, true. You have to consider that they aren't selling a million of these things, that means they have to recoup RnD money, building the tools to make it, pay employees and still try and turn a profit. Any small batch, high quality item is going to suffer from that.
