    ***UPDATE** the SSD is socketed in so you can upgrade that and the Wifi Card can be upraded, the RAM is soldered on the motherboard and cannot be upgraded.***

    Great review! I'm surprised at the amount of ports in this laptop! I was also surprised by the quality of the webcam; it's better then any other that I've seen in any TH-cam laptop review videos.

    🙂 I would not mind replacing my old Sony VAIO with the new VAIO SX12.

    Great strides in the channel. So happy to see you getting review units of quality brands. Even more growth is definitely on the way! Quality reviews and video quality.

    Nice. My old Vaio had a fantastic screen but the keyboard was truly awful. This one looks OK.

    Hey Andrew! I've been meaning to ask you where, or how you resell all of the items you have tested that you purchased yourself but don't keep? Just curious if it would be worth looking into for me, since I don't have the money to spend on totally brand new, but am leery about buying refurbished, used items from strangers. Not a live or die question. Just wondering. Thanks for the many ❤'s you have given my comments in the past too. You make an old woman smile!

    • @andrewmarcdavid
      @andrewmarcdavid  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Lately most of the review units are on loan from the brands themselves. I have been buying very little as of late mostly because I usually take a loss on them. But when I do I usually sell on ebay or swappa or locally. I do have a bunch of items that I have been meaning to sell but just have not had the time to do so. Stay tuned I will let you know when I do sell some of the items. Best, Andrew

    No windows hello? No touch screen? Love my old sony from decades. I am looking for a ne laptop, as I have a lot of office, customer service, presentation courses. What would be a good laptop, maybe even a 2 in 1 with touch screen, detachable keyboard to buy. Maybe one with 16 GB, 1T core i5, or i7 with thunderbolt. Any suggestions under $1000

    To be an ultra-portable with full road warrior versality it needs to be USB C chargeable.
    Not having that is a purchase killer for me. Such a shame as this would otherwise have been an immediate buy. But without that - it's a no sale

    How is the lid operated? Do I need to hold the bottom half in order to open the lid? Does it feel solid and well built (no noises when opening/closing the lid)?

    Great review.
    This shows everyone that port of all kinds should be on the macbook pros and other thin and light machine.
    But then who would buy ethernet, usba, vga, hdmi, dongles.
    We have all bee n played by the big companies putting profits ahead of customer needs, looking for new revenue flowa by taking away what was included than sell you a dongle to replace what they took away.
    They created both the problem and the solution for profit.

    I would consider that display as a con. There are many laptops with much brighter diplsay, like over 400 nits. Also it's not very color accurate given its 1,100$ starting price.

    • @andrewmarcdavid
      @andrewmarcdavid  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree the numbers don't really impress all that much but the funny thing is by just looking at it you would have thought the numbers would be higher. I was surprised by the result. Bottom line, the display looks very good.

      @andrewmarcdavid  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used to demo the sound but to be honest very hard to give you a true representation on video because everyone's listening experience is different whether it be headphones, speakers etc. and of course the device they are listening on. So rather I just explain my take on the speakers. Thanks.

    con: barrel charger, VGA? VGA?!!!!! Who in this world uses VGA on a Ultraportable?! HDMI 2.0, most likely not with the UHD620. Looks like a nice keyboard, trackpad has what drivers? Overall a meh machine, they could have made it so much lighter without that terrible VGA and put in USB-c or Thunderbolt 3 or even 4. We do not need networking or hdmi any more these days, there are plenty of dongles that work much better with USB-c. This is typical VIAO, very conservative, sorry not for me.

    Great video as always Andrew! This looks like a great laptop. Too bad it's internals are soldered on there, that's a shame.
    If you ever get a chance, try to review the ASUS Q326, it's a heavily Underrated laptop with a lot of performance and it's always overlooked. Why have a VGA port in 2019?

    • @Rafayel06
      @Rafayel06 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Many places still have old projectors which connect through that VGA port. So it helps during presentations in schools or businesses.

    • @elenchus
      @elenchus 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Rafayel06 Raf's right. As much as I hate VGA, it's mostly for old projectors that tons of businesses are still using.
