@@leslieannvanhumbeck9444 Hamsters still belong in the same phylum as rats & mice js.. they're all in the rodent family. Hamsters just seem to be kept more as pets in house holds compared to mice... a small amount of people make rats and mice pets atleast where I'm at.

@@brandan5708 _First remember, a racoon, and it's family, are wild animals and cannot be domesticated from the wild. Raccoons typically like cat food but they will eat many things, even Pringles. If you put a bowl of food out and gradually , very gradually, introduce yourself to the coon, he will eventually eat out of your hand and you will have a new buddy. They are fascinating. If you come across a racoon easily in the day time please _*_RUN..._*_ They are late evening/nighttime animals most active in the spring, summer and fall._

Try raising mantids,mine last for only seven or eight months! I get so attached to them and it’s always hard to say goodbye,luckily they always reproduce so I have plenty new ones next year
Usually it’s 1.5-2.5 years really. It’s so sad. It’s worth it when you know you’ve given them the best life possible, though!!
@@audreyhogancamp1239 This is true! We had a Parakeet we raised, and taught it to talk. He had a vocabulary of 30 words, pretty good for this breed. He became ill one day, and I had $3000 in my bank account, and was ready to spend any amount to save this bird. I couldn't find a qualified vet to treat him, and he died that night. He was about 5 years old. I later found out this breed only lives 5-8 years which is also way to short. Certain breeds of Parakeet do live up to 15 so pick one of those folks, do your research, unlike me. 😁👍✌

This reminds me of our hamster,
“Pebbles” 💕. She loved to eat just about everything and would stuff her cheeks to the max!
She got so big and strong that overnight she escaped. We would leave food and water in different places and never found her. We really loved her and miss her to this day…
One of our hamsters (years ago) escaped and fell down the cold air return of our furnace. We looked all around the house, and finally, we heard him scratching the metal compartment at the bottom of the cold air return shaft.
My dad took apart the compartment, which had one surface duct taped on.

Ok I honestly love hamsters as well as this channel, and this guy seems like a very good owner, but he shouldn’t be feeding his hamster cheesecake or pop tart. It may be safe, but it’s definitely not good for them. One grape is a whole lot of sugar for a hamster, imagine what pop tarts and cheesecake would do.

I don’t think it was real cake, people do make animal safe treats that look like our human snacks.
You can make safe treats for your hamsters. I, for example, have made banana pancakes for my hamster. It's harmless if you don't overdo it. I doubt that this guy feeds his hamster big treats every day.
Since dogs have been living with humans for a long time, they are said to be able to read our emotions. Many dog owners may have some idea of what they are feeling, such as going to the side of someone who is sad and comforting them with a lick, or wagging their tails vigorously when they are happy. Dogs have excellent senses and cognitive abilities, and can distinguish the slightest sounds of breathing, heartbeats, and tone of voice, and respond to human emotions

Another varmint (hamster) loved Top Ramen. Like Mr. Marshmallow on the video, he took one end of a ramen strand into his mouth and sucked the rest of the strand up into his mouth! So cute & silly! 🍜🐭 Nom, nom, nom!
All of our hamsters loved to sit on my dad and crawl all over him, discovering pocket to crawl into 😆 and burrowing between the buttons on his shirt and underneath it. 😂 I suspect it was because he loved nuts and sometimes had a packet of nuts in his pocket, which left the scent of nuts.
They were thrilled when they "discovered" an open bag of nuts in a pocket.
They loved all the predictable rodent favorite foods: cheese 🧀, bacon, chocolate🍫, seeds, nuts, plus plenty of human treats as well: ice cream🍦, corn🌽, chicken🍗, apples🍎, watermelon🍉, grapes🍇, beef🍔, pizza🍕, fries🍟, cookies🍪, popcorn🍿, ramen & spaghetti🍜🍝, cake🎂. Wow! Thatsa lotta food!💥😉

For anyone who purchases or owns a hamster, please, I urge you to check out Victoria Rachel's TH-cam channel. She provides alot of useful information on the proper way to care for these little guys. Never feed your hamster big pieces of sugary fruit because they get diabetes and suffer.

As much as I thought it was nice for him to prepare all his food, I think you need to be mindful of quantities. Animals shouldn't have more food that what fits in their stomachs. Just like humans.. Can't deny he's a cute little thing. Please, please don't over feed animals!

I feel like it should be properly mentioned that this isn't a suitable diet for a hamster. Their diet needs to mainly consist of seeds and grains, keeping fruits and dairy as a rare treat. You will surely kill your hamster if you feed them this stuff daily, especially the really sweet things like jam and fruits.
I'm assuming this guy fed the little one over a long period of time but it seems irresponsible to compile it into one video and not mention this. Also, be careful when giving your hamster soft/wet foods as it can get stuck in their cheeks. My friends hamster got boiled pasta stuck in her cheeks and had to get it removed at the vets.
Usually pasta is fine but I'd just avoid bread and soft things like that completely because they aren't usually worth the risk. If you really want to give them bread though, I'd try toasting it a bit first so it's less soft.
Honestly, my little lady never has fruit. Her treats come in the form of the occasional mealworm and/or some pasta. In the wild, hamsters aren't really living off of fruits, egg and dairy. Hamsters are prone to diabetes as well, so this much sugar is pretty terrible.
