When you take good care of rodents they can live waaaaaaaaay past their normal lifespan so its great to see him enjoying his life, and man thats a sweet setup he has!

Zoos are terrible, anyone could do better for sure. Animals should have huge pieces of lands and zoos can't even bother with that even if they have the money to increase their space.

Male mice are incredibly territorial and are not supposed to kept with other males. So it would not be a good idea to to get him a new cage mate. Sucks that his sibling passed away though. 😢

Should have left it.. Natural mothers come back nothing was wrong with them before and mice survive winter on its own. They killed one and almost this one.. They think they did the right thing but they took a piece of nature home...

You'd have to have such a dedicated schedule to take care of any baby, and rodents, since they grow so much faster, are extremely demanding. This woman clearly had NOTHING else she was doing. lol
This was my favorite video. Her dedication to keeping his habitat mentally stimulating and fresh with healthy stuff is just astonishingly compassionate. Love them both!!
Are you feeding your snakes live mice? Because that's dangerous to your snake. The mouse can injure your snake, so it's better to feed them frozen mice.
Don't feel too bad. Snakes deserve to eat too. It's not their fault that they're carnivores. Just think of it as giving them the best life they can have, just like this woman has done with her mouse. :)
I did the same thing a few years back. I work as a bridge construction inspector and found three baby mice on my job. Their Mother was dead. I kept them with me all day on the job, caring for them and cared for them at home as well. The men also brought me a hummingbird. Did the same thing with her.
I wish I was a genie and could bless souls such as her with everything that they've ever desired. I hope and pray and wish you have the best life that has ever been lived. When I was in grad school, I had a lab rat. At the end of the study I was told that all of the rats would be "sacrificed." I had developed a relationship with my rat, who I called, "Max." I took him home with me and enjoyed his company. He was sit on my shoulder, and often run around but come when I called. He was very friendly with guests and loved to hang out, eat Cheetos, and get head rubs. He was very smart, and learned tricks.
Thats great! I have owned..oh geez 12 or 14 pet rats. All rescued. We had a classroom rat in grade 8. I took it home on weekends to care for it. Likely where my weird animal/pet thing began lol Anything a dog can do a mouse or rat can be trained to do..just on a smaller scale of course :)
Omg that's so horrible they are "sacrificed"... I understand we need to test things for science, but I don't think it's worth it if we are going to treat these animals like objects. Like humans just use these critters for our own purposes and then throw them away as if their lives mean nothing. It's so horrible. But I'm really glad you rescued him, thank you. They are very intelligent and deserve a chance at a life.
Damn she really went above and beyond for this mouse very few people would put in this much effort and then give him such a great home to continue to keep as much love and care after he's better it's clear he trusts her and is very happy
When I was a kid a pet store let me take home a little butterscotch colored feeder mouse that was not thriving. Well named her Tabitha and for two and a half years she was my best buddy one of the oldest mice ever. Ended up with arthritis and a kinky tail. Got to travel from Denver to Seattle and back again. She was pretty awesome Mouse.
I kinda know what you mean. My mother bought us 2 beta fish once and they had a tank that had 2 separate enclosures for them so that they couldn't get each other. Beta fish don't get along, so they had to be kept this way. My sister named them Joe Frazier and George Forman because they were prize fighters in real life. Anyway, for some reason, George had the best personality of any fish I'd ever encountered. He used to open and close his tiny mouth when he wanted to be fed. And, sometimes, he'd get so excited about getting food, that he'd almost jump out of the fishbowl😳. Also, oddly enough, he used to let us pet him with our fingers. Of course, we were gentle with him. He really appeared to love life too as he always swam around in his fishbowl like he was so happy. We all just feel in love with our little buddy. But Betas do not live long either. But we enjoyed him as long as we could. Shortly after he passed away, Joe died too. Maybe he ended up missing seeing George too. So yes, I agree that these little ones can be just as much fun as owning other animals, mice and fish can be so much fun. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my story as much as I do yours.😉🌹🙂

@@european-one I'm just pointing out a mistake that they made. I don't hate them for it, I don't know how'd you make a wire wheel safe but it is easier to just get a better wheel. Also I just don't want people to make care mistakes because almost every small animal is given improper care such as:rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs,Betta fish, goldfish,birds and yup mice. Even if she did Remove it i educate people on animal Care every chance I get because of all the improper care that is passed around. sorry if this came off as agressive and that this is so long.I'm just really passionate about this topic.

When I was with my ex girlfriend, we had 5 mice, one day, one of the cats managed to knock their cage off the table they were on... (not sure how this happened, cats weren't meant to be able to get into that room) We came home from work, the cage was in peices, one of the mice was hiding inside the broken cage, three were missing and we found one dead. We assumed the missing ones were eaten, because there were nine cats and 6 dogs in the house. Fast-forward about three months, my ex was laying on the bed, when she heard some scratching... She pulled the bed to the side ever so slightly. Right down below our bed near the wall, was one of the mice, he had made a small nest out of random scrap, and had peices of dog food from the dog bowl downstairs! This little warrior mouse had managed to survive three months in a house with nine cats and six dogs! Somehow managing to get peices of dog food from the kitchen all the way up to our bedroom. Needless to say, we quickly recaptured him, (he let us pick him up with no fuss) and put him back into his cage with his sister. They seemed very happy to see each other. I don't know the rest of their story as I left my ex girlfriend, let's just say, her obsessions with animals was manic to the point of destructive. To be with her you had to be rich or not mind living in perpetual poverty. It wasn't a healthy way to live. Plus, after all I sacrificed to be with her for five years, she cheated on me. In a way I'm glad she did, because it gave me enough fire to have the strength to leave her.

@Aly Honestly, it's nowhere near as bad as it sounds, everything was clean and well looked after... There were just a lot of animals everywhere, every animal met its daily interaction needs, we did nothing but look after the animals, it was sheer madness. I do feel like I have changed as a person from the experience of such a relationship, glad to be free!
I usually don't but I smashed a spider a few weeks ago and I saw its life force leave its body. It was like a golden sparkly beam of light. Im not stopping life again.

i love this so much! it's amazing to me that such a little creature has a completely unique personality and is so smart and self aware. I love how she put her hand down and he just ran up to her and crawled on it. this is just so sweet and makes you think about the infinite amount of little creatures that are Fighting to survive just like we are. it's absolutely heartbreaking but quite beautiful at the same time.

When I was a kid a pet store let me take home a little butterscotch colored feeder mouse that was not thriving. Well named her Tabitha and for two and a half years she was my best buddy one of the oldest mice ever. Ended up with arthritis and a kinky tail. Got to travel from Denver to Seattle and back again. She was pretty awesome Mouse.

I kinda know what you mean. My mother bought us 2 beta fish once and they had a tank that had 2 separate enclosures for them so that they couldn't get each other. Beta fish don't get along, so they had to be kept this way. My sister named them Joe Frazier and George Forman because they were prize fighters in real life. Anyway, for some reason, George had the best personality of any fish I'd ever encountered. He used to open and close his tiny mouth when he wanted to be fed. And, sometimes, he'd get so excited about getting food, that he'd almost jump out of the fishbowl😳. Also, oddly enough, he used to let us pet him with our fingers. Of course, we were gentle with him. He really appeared to love life too as he always swam around in his fishbowl like he was so happy. We all just feel in love with our little buddy. But Betas do not live long either. But we enjoyed him as long as we could. Shortly after he passed away, Joe died too. Maybe he ended up missing seeing George too. So yes, I agree that these little ones can be just as much fun as owning other animals, mice and fish can be so much fun. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my story as much as I do yours.😉🌹🙂

@@european-one I'm just pointing out a mistake that they made. I don't hate them for it, I don't know how'd you make a wire wheel safe but it is easier to just get a better wheel. Also I just don't want people to make care mistakes because almost every small animal is given improper care such as:rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs,Betta fish, goldfish,birds and yup mice. Even if she did Remove it i educate people on animal Care every chance I get because of all the improper care that is passed around. sorry if this came off as agressive and that this is so long.I'm just really passionate about this topic.
@@iigoofylucyii8103 you could make it safe by lining it. Card, plastic, wooden slats even. The wire would just be the shape mesh at that point.
Alternatively you could just replace it with one of the many wooden ones you can find in shops
@@european-one that's a smart idea! but if done improperly could not work and may reduce the size of the wheel which can cause complications. I would love to actually see that done properly I but I still think it's less work and cheaper to get a plastic one for like 12 dollars

When I was with my ex girlfriend, we had 5 mice, one day, one of the cats managed to knock their cage off the table they were on... (not sure how this happened, cats weren't meant to be able to get into that room)
We came home from work, the cage was in peices, one of the mice was hiding inside the broken cage, three were missing and we found one dead.
We assumed the missing ones were eaten, because there were nine cats and 6 dogs in the house.
Fast-forward about three months, my ex was laying on the bed, when she heard some scratching... She pulled the bed to the side ever so slightly. Right down below our bed near the wall, was one of the mice, he had made a small nest out of random scrap, and had peices of dog food from the dog bowl downstairs!
This little warrior mouse had managed to survive three months in a house with nine cats and six dogs! Somehow managing to get peices of dog food from the kitchen all the way up to our bedroom.
Needless to say, we quickly recaptured him, (he let us pick him up with no fuss) and put him back into his cage with his sister. They seemed very happy to see each other.
I don't know the rest of their story as I left my ex girlfriend, let's just say, her obsessions with animals was manic to the point of destructive. To be with her you had to be rich or not mind living in perpetual poverty. It wasn't a healthy way to live. Plus, after all I sacrificed to be with her for five years, she cheated on me. In a way I'm glad she did, because it gave me enough fire to have the strength to leave her.
I would have named him "Martin the Warrior" - its a Redwall ref.
But damn. There's a fine line between animal lover and hoarder. She seemed to be the latter. Glad you got out when you did

Honestly, it's nowhere near as bad as it sounds, everything was clean and well looked after... There were just a lot of animals everywhere, every animal met its daily interaction needs, we did nothing but look after the animals, it was sheer madness.
I do feel like I have changed as a person from the experience of such a relationship, glad to be free!

@@MANiKiN3 I was thinking the same thing. It was a hobo spider and it was on my living room. I have 2 kids. I guess spiders have a spirit/energy too. I haven't killed another one. I just put a cup over them and let my husband put them out.
i love this so much! it's amazing to me that such a little creature has a completely unique personality and is so smart and self aware. I love how she put her hand down and he just ran up to her and crawled on it. this is just so sweet and makes you think about the infinite amount of little creatures that are Fighting to survive just like we are. it's absolutely heartbreaking but quite beautiful at the same time.
