It's amazing how her videos tackle about the more common but not addressed problem areas of non-native speakers when it comes to learning the language. Not a lot of teachers could really grasp what are the difficult things to learn for a student. Thank you! 😊

8:18 - that explanation clarifies the distinction (I was sorta lost before that). I think Te Kara is more like "following" or "right after" - at least for me that is how I will lodge it into my slow brain.

Very good explanation and example sentences! I came to realize 手を洗ってから食べよう translates to English "not until" or German "erst" like in:
English:
We don't eat until you washed your hands.
Inversion: Not until you washed your hands do we eat.
German:
Erst wenn du deine Hände gewaschen hast, essen wir. (Wir essen erst, wenn du...)

Hi! I'm sorry but I don't quite agree with you. "Not until" / "erst" in this sentence seems to be too harsh for me because it imposes a condition, whereas 食べよう is in fact a polite suggestion, an invitation. So I would say instead: Let's eat after you have washed your hands! Lass uns essen, nachdem du dir die Hände gewaschen hast! Auf jeden Fall finde ich deine Sätze auf Englisch ziemlich sperrig bzw. sie sind grammatikalisch falsch.

I find that sometimes it's easier to reverse before/after to keep the word order.
Here, I usually translate てから as "before" instead of "after" and keep the Japanese word order...

I have one big question about expression when Japanese people asking someone. In some situations, some people add "の" at the end of the sentence, especially when they are asking. I don't know if they use it to speak casually.
Miku Sensei, could you please make a video about this subject? Maybe if some people use the other expression at the end of "interrogative sentence" or maybe use "の" at the end of the sentence in order to "emphasis" something that we want to ask about, could you explain about this later?

I'm a little confused on when to use たあとで. た form is past tense so how would you say you did it specifically in the past, rather than doing it generally? Would something like this make sense .... 今朝, コーヒーお飲んだあとで仕事に行きました ... ?

Does omitting the から change the meaning/nuance at all?
Pretty sure てから emphasizes that you do action 2 after action 1 like 夜ご飯を食べてから寝る - "I will sleep after eating dinner", whereas only て form would more work as 'and' in combining things so 夜ご飯を食べて寝る would mean "I will eat dinner and sleep".

Yes, It's one of meanings of たら but there are some limits/restrictions . For example you can't use it when you say something about past .

hai I like your vids but can you also translate it to romaji because sometimes it confused to pronounce it without seeing it with Latin alphabet
Dna Dayana it's confusing with romaji...since it's not really how you pronounce the Japanese it's not really correct if she adds it I think it should be in like subtitles not fully on the video ..it's best to just learn hiragana and katakana if you want to be able to read Japanese ..don't depend on romaji get used to actual Japanese writing if you want to read it.. reading hiragana and katakana is easier than reading romaji which runs together without kanji and makes the meanings hard to understand with words that sound the same so are the same in romaji like there are two (or more )kaze's how would you know the difference ? There are two (or more ) yasui's it adds more difficulty in the long run. I'm so used to reading Japanese in hiragana and katakana and kanji that romaji is confusing and I have to try harder to read it. Hiragana and katakana are very easy to learn ...
