How I Lost 20kg in 9 Weeks with No Exercise - and Why

  • On Dec 31, 2021 I finally made that cliché New Year's resolution - There's no such thing as being Obese and being healthy. My weight was at 96kg and getting worse. I was getting headspins, high blood pressure and feeling overall, absolutely dreadful. Spinal surgery last year meant that my body was limited in movement and exercise for the most part just hasn't been possible.
I knew how to lose weight, but for some reason, I'd let myself go - and the ravine between being a healthy weight, or a permanent obese fat middle aged guy was growing.
I thought to myself - "You don't see a lot of fat old people - because most of the fat ones passed before their time." ... someone had mentioned that to me years ago, and as I looked at my health, I could understand why that statement might have some truth to it.
I don't want to die before my time - I want to enjoy my family and get every ounce out of this life that I can. It started on the 1st of Jan and in 9 weeks, I lost 20kg and am at my target weight now.
Many people have been following on Social media asking how to do it. I have been PM'd by over 100 people - so I thought I'd put this clip out for everyone - I hope it can help some people out there.

No matter which way you follow or what kind of diet you prefer: At the end it's all about burning more calories than you ingest!!

That is very true. However the thing most people miss, is that the kind of foods you eat, and how you eat, affects how well your metabolism works and inturn how many calories you burn. This is why some folks just can't seem to lose weight even though they are eating very few calories, because their metabolism is so slow that they aren't burning many either.

Throughout my fasting experience I realized that once you have disassociated the brain signal of "hunger" with "empty stomach", you can pretty much fast in any kind of diet. Calorie dense food does help by taking lesser space in stomach which prevents gas problem later.

Nothing can stop you Stu , you even healed your voice back and your arm. I’ve always admired the way you learn. Connecting sound with color just amazing stuff to Morse code with your grandfather listening to the radio in different languages trying to figure out what they are speaking. It makes me believe I can learn a new way to use my mind and body. It’s a little bit affected from a fracture in my c3 vertebrate that caused a artery dissection that cause a mini stroke that cause a bit of damage in the cerebellum. The only side effect was some neck and pack pain that I could tolerate most of the time. But randomly after 5 years my vision has gotten blurry/double easily lose my balance (even on a escalator), it’s impossible to express myself with words because I can not think of the words I want to use, I forget how to spell basic words, I blank out with short term memory, so ofcourse my anxiety is crippling when I go out. I’m actually don’t think it’s from the car accident because I was fine after a year and I believe the artery dissection saved me since normally the do immediate surgery but because of the blood thinners I was taking they couldn’t cut me open. And by the time they were going to take me to surgery the said My neck was actually healing itself. Who knows what pain or complications could’ve happen if in those kind of surgeries. Anyways I feel like maybe I can learn to use brain, eyes, body etc differently I can learn to function. I only appear normal when people see me because I have some awareness and plus the doctors and neurologists haven’t found anything . It feels like a 24/7 mini stroke non stop, some days worse than others. This definitely stopped me for so long learning Thai as progress seems non existent. I love how CTF is different than the standard language learning books , like learning the map of the mouth to create the sounds. Maybe I just need to install a new operating system. The way I learn things now is kinda like making the mistake a thousand times till my body learns it and you do it with out thinking like brushing your teeth lol as you can imagine not every employer is going to have this patience especially when I can’t even explain myself and can point to anything, am just like a really dumbed down version of my old self. I’m also go to lose some weight and I am going to your MindKraft classes 100% my only question is , is there a deadline to the payment or can I purchase it about 5 days before April 25 ? Thank you , very inspiring

Super! Resonates with my experience these past two months. I have Ankylosing Spondylitis with range of symptoms and expressions. Eliminating processed foods, starches, sugars and seed oils, incorporating healthy oils/fats, natural proteins and more cruciferous vegetables, along with time restricted eating/fasting. I"ve lost weight radically and have fewer, less intense Spondylo-arthritis flare-ups. I experience satiety and have no cravings. Thanks for the affirmation and encouraging share.

Good video, thanks man. I'm also trying to lose some weight. Like you, I broke the process into several steps.
First, I dropped junk fatty food like burgers, pizza and drinks like soda.
Second, I exercise more. At least twice a week.
Third, I eat more healthy. Whole eggs, more vegetables and such.
Fourth, I try to get more sleep and make it more quality sleep, at least 7 hours a night.
Fifth, my current step, I try to extend the intermittent fasting window. I try no to eat past 9 pm, 3 hours before I go to bed, but last meal I probably should have a lot earlier than that.
I haven't had such spectacular effects like you, but my weight is slowly going down.

Being hungry is intolerable. So the solution is to eat really bulky things full of water that'll take forever to digest. Combine that with loads of low level activity. Walk six miles or more a day. Ten miles is a bit over 1,000 kcals for most people. If you eat a really, really bulky diet - porridge with hardly any oats and loads of water and chopped apple, made and left overnight, lentil or split pea soup, chicken and fish with tons of greens and pulses - it's only 1600 kcals, and you're never hungry. If your basal metabolic rate is 2,500 and you consume 1600 that's full of fibre it'll only be worth 1350 in the body. Stuff comes out of your butt undigested. If your 2,500 basal is added to 1,000 by walking it's basically a pound of pure bodyfat lost every two days. Imagine that. 40lbs of pure lard in eighty days. That's how (sane) bodybuilders used to do it.

  • @sokaiya1
    @sokaiya1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

I really like your content and cheers to your weight loss. However, i will say this: you are over complicating the weight loss objective. You lost weight not because of ketosis, cutting our carbs or alcohol. You lost weight simply because you consumed less energy than what you burned. If you ate a high protein diet then you had a much higher thermic effect of food (protein calories get a 20% discount).
The issue with IF is that you lose lean body mass. This was shown in a study published 28/Sept/20. You can eat everything as long as you don't consume more than what you burn. How will you know? You need to count your calories. I eat bread bread everyday, fruit, and even some sweets and i'm in my mid 40s and maintain single digit body fat year round.

    • @saka3960

Who says he's in surplus. Raging metabolism that's all. Thats what I.F. and Keto does. I would be more inclined to say that he's also over-estimating his calorie intake as well.
I lost 10kg in 8 weeks without adding any extra exercise, while eating well at the same time.

ระวังอ้วน 5555 I gained loads of weight smashing street food roti 5kg in 1 month gained. Trans fats in that as well with the margarine they cook it in, nasty, never thought about it at the time. Lost quite a bit now but never 2kg a week.

Yeah... When I was in my 20s, there was a period where I'd have1 or 2 packs of โรตีสายไหม a day ...if I did that now, I'd be over 100kg. Food here is delicious and lethal

@@StuartJayRaj For sure, easy to balloon in Thailand with the huge variety of food, and those sweets haha, ขนมครก are lower carb I think though... actually they still have sugar thinking about it :/ oh well.

Wow. Weight always just falls off me when I'm in Asia. I never got into the rotis and don't usually drink much so I guess I just tend to mostly prefer Thai foods which are pretty healthy. Even though I have too many of those sugary กาแฟเย็น.

I actually appreciate the frequent อ้วนขึ้นรึป่าววว jibes... It means I can't just sit there and pretend I'm not fat and that everything is okay. There's nothing positive that can come From obesity... Their directness while jarring, gave the necessary jolt

This is the how-to-die-fast101. The recommended % of weight to lose per WEEK is 0.5%-1%. you stated your weight was 96kg, which means 960gr MAX/Week, but you claimed to have lost 317gr/day = 2,1kg per week, so more than double (way more actually because I'm assuming here your weight as a constant which isn't true). Other than have totally lost for sure muscles (worst mistake to do because muscles burns more energy and should be preserved), you just put too much risks on the plate. This is exactly what people should not follow and dislike. Worst example ever.

never felt fitter, blood work is good. All in all happy with my results for myself - and using myself as a lab, showing that it is possible.

If Master Stuart comes to Thailand, you will lose weight very difficult. Because Thai food is delicious and very spicy, haha.
