First Time I listened to his voice was this album during the Flight of Emirates Airlines, and immediately love his voice & put him one of my favourite of Tenors.
To be very honest, I am starting to be fed up with the overanalizing thing in terms of technics. Of course there are mistakes, but those make us human. And if someone enjoys this performance - as everything is really subjective- then I think technical issues are not crucially important. Its music, just enjoy it or listen to something else. Btw I think its good.
He must have been so proud to sing in his home land. His voice is different to anyone else's. It's completely individual and you can never mistake his voice for anyone else. I think that is the ultimate compliment!
That's the right repertory for him. Much better than Puccini, Verdi, Bizet... also, he sounds better with a proper microphone and a childrens' choir for backup. Never mind the sharp note in the end. Bravo.

We are cultured Down Under but don't have the exposure available in Europe. Our broadcasters need to wake up and spend money on worthwhile projects.
This song is not sung by many artists for a reason. Andrea Bocelli blew it out the park about 20 years ago, one can not sing it better. The song is a pop song, not an operatic piece. Andrea's vulnerability and emotion is what makes the song, not technical ability. I love Joseph Calleja, but not this piece.

This was an open air concert so the acoustics will never be perfect. He is a great singer.

Heard him live at the Met twice, and once in Chicago. You have to hear him live to get it.
Forget the technics. This man has a great voice. , and I am a Welsh Australian.
I accept your right to have an opinion but listen to him sing some more, his technique,control and resonance is as good as any of the best.
