Snapper lawnmower 6.5 Briggs HIFROM 15 dollar replacement carburetor install and review

So I got another free lawnmower, and yes it was not running. The carb was all clogged up from sitting and done.. I found a $14.98 replacement new carb on Amazon, and am quite pleased with the results!

I have fuel leaking somewhere on a mower I got for cheap. It's not in the gas lane so I'm guessing it's in the carburetor bulb. Thanks for the tutorial on how to change out the carburetor. 7 years later and you're still helping people with this video

I have the similar 6.5 B&S motor on my DR string trimmer about 15 years old and until this year it ran fine but not now. I cleaned the carb. and it helped but still not right. I found one on E Bay for $7.99 w/free shipping, a rebuild kit was$11. I ordered the carb. yesterday from Ca. and it should be here on Friday.It is easy to get off.

Hey man, I got mine for free as well. It's run well the past 2 seasons but started giving trouble today. I came inside after messin with the carb a bit and googled it and your vid popped up. I followed the link and got the carb, now it's $9.19. Thanks so much.

I work on cars and try to my mowers. But guess I don't know too much. I have the same mower except no bag and the throttle is old style on the right with the cable connecting near air filter.
And mine has springs on top of carb. This one seems to have none. I am trying to find out how they hook up and how many. And ideas?

Just got a new carb from Ebay for the same mower. Came with a new spark plug, air filter and primer bulb. $12.79. Installing tomorrow :-)

Good job Carl. I just picked up a curb side lawn mower the same. It runs with starter fluid. I was going to clean carb. but after seeing your' vid for 15 bucks it don't make cense. Thanks. Replaced carburator and it will not start. It started before but after 30 minutes it stops and will not start for a couple hours. So.now what?

Check that the vented gas cap is actually allowing air into the gas tank to replace what is being burned.

The old one was beyond cleaning, I gave up on it (which is not my MO)..
