- Hey Guys! Octane Restorations back here with another Motorcycle restoration! Today we have a 1988 Goldwing GL1500 in the shop that has been sitting for over a decade. This is actually a motorcycle I bought for myself and plan on riding after I get it running! Today's video is the twelth step in that process, removing the starter. Thanks for watching, please consider liking and subscribing if you enjoyed the video!

I own a 1989 gl1500 that i"m going to have to do a starter R&R on. I've owned this bike since 1999, was riding it till three years ago, then the starter failed.
Appreciate the video!!
Anytime, thank you very much for watching! Hope all goes well!!
thank you for the vid , I have a 95 and my starter started to click , i may have to remove mine and this helped
now going to check my solenoid
@@curttabor2827 I would check that first, best of luck!
Might check your battery voltage as well
I would have ended up throwing my tools across the shop trying to get that out!
It definitely was not fun, would not recommend! But I finally got it 🤣
I felt your pain not easy at all and well done.
Thank you very much Steven!
I hope I don't run into those problems for a long, long time.
I would not wish these problems on anyone!
Thanks for your vidéo, I have to dismantle my starter motor also, what a hassle! I was able to remove 2 bolts, I can't see the 3rd
According to the video it would be +/- down.. I'll watch it tomorrow then, because right now I just feel like scrapping the bike..
Normally when powering the motor directly from the battery it should spin, mine doesn't. So, I think it's unfortunately the starter that no longer works.
The next video I posted about it showed how i fixed my starter not working! Now it works great! It really is a pain in the butt to remove
I think I just bought it's twin?
Hopefully these problems don't run in its family! 😂
You fiddle and babble to much!
Thank you for the comment!
