Not all of it but the abeka curriculum is way batter than what’s offered in belizian public schools. I myself have experienced this first hand as a student at many public. I had to switch schools due to getting bullied, and due to my attentiveness to what I am being taught I can confidently say ALL schools should have it. I was and still am miles ahead of public school students.

Unfortunately, it's already there. It's been there for at least a couple of decades. That is why the teaching model has changed and politics has gotten into education. It would be too much to type here, but I can show you schools where management has accepted donations, laptops given to teachers, etc. As a matter of fact, many of your schools in the districts, remote areas have been upkept by ex-pats and foreigners. You guys need to pay more attention to what's going on in Belize and not being so nonchalant. The Ministry of Education and Education Department are a waste of time. I won't even bother with watching what Patrick Faber has to say because it was under his watch with him being the Minister of Education that this mess started. He forgot that he took money from the US, changed the educational model, put politics into education by forcing principals to retain underperforming and unruly kids, especially those in his constituency, had relationships with relatives of and some of these same young women who got educational financial help. The perfect example was the same young lady who is now a doctor who he physically abused. Anyone with sense, when that young lady did her report and made a public declaration, the timeline showed that he was having relations with this woman from she was a teenager. So, he's a big hypocrite.

Thanks so much for your broadcasts. There has not ever really been a government in Belize. It has always been an opportunists delight. To be sold out, neglected, abused and kept backwards in its thinking. 5th world Belize. From public transport, to medical facilities, or embarrassingly the blatant lack thereof, roads, cost of living, to an ex convict running for PM, I could go on and on, my country is a joke. Even traffic wardens can have attitude. So many facilities there to serve the people, that think the people are there only to serve them. 250 mill will settle in the back pockets of few, with minimum novelty spending on our declining economy, and lavish lifestyles for a handful. We were sold out from the very beginning, it will only get worse. Exploiters prey on narrow minds.

WOW, that is a great comment...... I agree with everything you just said.... It is really sad. I grew up with government corruption in the states as a child but over the years things got better as they did more for the people while hiding more of the corruption from public eye. Here it seems as if they just put it right in peoples faces as if there is nothing can be done. The gap between have and have not in Belize blows my mind, I came here to have a slower pace of life which I have now but it strikes a nerve with me to see what people in power and public office do here right out in the open. I stand with the people of Belize and will continue to put information out there that is important for people to know. Thanks for watching...

I couldn't agree with you more. Belize could have really been a true jewel, a shining beacon of prosperity & affluence surrounded by these Spanish speaking republics. But alas, the leaders of Belize's two main political parties would not have it so. Instead, they focused on self enrichment and ensnared the citizens in costly party politics in a bid to retain power which all but perpetuated corruption and stalled development. I hereby curse Johnny Briceño, Dean O. Barrow, Said Musa, Ralph Fonseca and each and every one of these corrupt, rotten men who led Belize to poverty. May all of their descendants be cursed as well, with all sorts of maladies and discomforts, amen.

@@Digicam-gy9kx Belize needs more people to speak their mind. To hold the so called fathers of this country accountable for joining in the seemingly never ending, rape and pillage of this fake jewel. Stand for the National Anthem. Por que. Invest in our youth, build proper facilities to develop our national and international stance in sport, charge ALL peoples tax. Improve the roads, both inner city and main. Better equipped hospitals, better public transport, more jobs, tighter controls over pricing of consumer goods. Easier for Belizeans to order from Amazon and Ebay. Stop destroying Belizeans when they bring things into the country. A reliable electricity establishment, that doesn't burn out the nations appliances. On and on and on I could go.

And be under no illusion Sir, if left unchecked in any way, Belize and Belizeans will not see very much benefit. Yeah, the MCC is more around combating China's influence in the region. GOB, besides taking this money they should ensure money is spent in areas that produce some type of multiplier effect. Otherwise, the grant becomes a drug and creates dependency on foreign investment. GOB should ensure a proper plan outlined in what is to be achieved with this investment. If a plan doesn't exist, then it'll fail. The GOB should also outline and identify how improvements is measured.
Hopefully the GOB puts forth a public accessible plan on how the money will be used. If the MCC dictates how it'll be used with respect to energy and education that doesn't fit Belize, then it's not the type of investment Belize needs and should look to cancel.

I am here in the US, interested in Belize as a possible retirement location. (Not sure yet, just looking around.) I would only say two thing about this video. One, it is perfectly fine to ask what strings are attached to a gift like this. Let everything be put in writing so it can be tracked over time. Be diligent, but don't be paranoid. Yes, the history is that the US exploited the hell out of smaller countries around the world. The US is one of the "empires" of the world (not the only one) and it has done some horrible things. But the US is more than its plutocracy. There is variety of opinion in the US about all kinds of things. This $250 million may simply mean that somebody in power in the US sees that Belize is geographically close and they want it to thrive. $250 million? It sounds like a lot, but that is not out of line with the standard US foreign aid. Just keep records and don't let it get drained off by any corrupt people. That happens even with domestic spending in the US!
