We sold everything except a 20-year-old jeep, some tools, some keepsakes and loaded up everything into a very small single axle tear drop (will it make it) trailer a couple years ago and headed South to Central America. With ourselves our fur babies (two cats and one dog) and our dreams.

We have always had a yearning for something different in our lives and more meaningful than the RAT RACE way of life. A dream come true for us and out of pure luck of the housing market, we sold everything and left, and haven't looked back. We noticed a lot of off grid sites but not many for EXPATS living off grid in Central America, so we decided to share our story and progress, the good and bad with you, in hopes of giving others the courage or knowledge to take the leap one day and go off grid and outside your comfort zone.
