As a mom of a single and the twins....embrace every freaking moment. It goes fast but also slow. My kids are now teenagers. I have not gone through their baby clothes that I saved but I can tell you this, watching my boys turn into young men is the best gift I have ever received. The simple act of watching someone become something removes my sadness of never again having a tiny human.

Hearing you talk about your mom, I was reminded of how much you relied on her when the twins were first born and how she was constantly in your home helping you to raise your babies. True, she may not be your whole world but she is a huge part of it and you need her all the same. Your kids may not see you as their whole world for very long but you will always be a safe place for them. Remember that ❤️

Hey, Colleen. You don't have to apologize for having a hard time with moving. It's totally understandable and doesn't mean you're complaining. I'm also a neuro divergent person and I have always struggled with change. Last time I moved to a new house it took me a couple of weeks to feel like myself again. I tend to get really emotional and anxious when I'm in an unfamiliar environment. It's not a lack of gratitude, it's just hard to readjust yourself.

    • @umopapisdn123
      @umopapisdn123 ปีที่แล้ว

I had the same feeling Colleen, give yourself grace. It’s not always necessary to place your own struggles on a spectrum of all possible problems and justify the scale might not compare to something tragic or life altering. You still deserve to both feel and express your negative emotions including complaining when you are frustrated or challenged. If folks try to minimize you by comparing to someone else’s larger pain, or pointing out your blessings they are simply trying to regulate you - ummm nope! Each person should mind their own feelings and when someone shares theirs, empathize, show compassion and grace and that’s it - no need to police another persons feelings and similarity no need for you to apologize.

I am pretty sure you will find more than enough storage space in this "Villa" of a home. It saddens me to think you are crying over your previous house while you move into a place that has so much potential and building future memories. Hire a good decorator, have your personal touch and enjoy living close to family and friends behind a safe gate. Expand your kitchen over time, make it like you want it, spend the $$ you earned it and enjoy getting out of LA and enjoy your very own orchards and gardens.

Moves can be really hard for ppl with ADHD because a new environment means starting the process of creating new habits and flows, which are often so connected to our environment setup. A lack of a familiarity can be super disruptive to progress and positive habits and stuff. It may take more time to feel in your element there. Talking about the struggle isn’t complaining- it’s normalizing this feeling for other ppl. ❤

You should try living in the 700 sq ft one bedroom upper flat I’m trying to raise my two kids in. We have four half-closets in the whole place, and their bunk bed is squashed next to my bed in the same room. That’s four closets for everything…clothes, food, blankets, wrapping paper, vacuum. My kids deserve better, but working a regular full time job after three spinal surgeries is the best I can do. Usually I adore these vids…but lately the complaining about the new house is hitting a very raw nerve. I’m just here for the adorable baby giggles…

Oh, it's so nice to see other moms be emotional. I'm absolutely that mom that cries at everything. My older kids are in marching band and they killed it this season and got grand champion of the smaller class bands (out of 19 bands) at their last competition. I cried when they performed because they put their whole hearts in it and you could tell and it was an amazing performance. I always record their performances to put in the car and jam out to because we are all nerds. We have all my marching band show recordings in the car to sing along to. Every single time I hear that specific performance, I cry. It makes me so emotional. :) You are not alone. Emotional mommas unite! And we can cry about it!

hey colleen I’m not usually someone who comments on your videos but I’ve been watching you since I was 13 and I’m now 22. You and your family have helped me more than I can even express in one little comment. I had the worst day of my life so seeing your vlog notification literally made me cry happy tears. Long story short I’m currently sitting in my cousins empty apartment (she’s out of town for thanksgiving) bc I came to see my family for thanksgiving and as soon as I got here I started feeling sick😭 I tested positive for Covid, the flu, and I have an ear infection. I have to stay here by myself until I’m negative so I can fly home. It’s super annoying but I’ve been crying all day bc I have to spend thanksgiving all by myself for the first time in my whole life. Im so happy i get to keep my family safe especially with my grandma at the house who just got over breast cancer and my aunt who’s in town who has lupus and Myasthenia Gravis. As soon as I heard you say the onesies were sold out and preorder wouldn’t get here until January, I SOBBED. All I could think of was, I got paid today I can order a onesie and have it to wear on Christmas morning bc even though thanksgiving is the worst ever, at least I had a little something extra for Christmas. Don’t get me wrong, Christmas will still be amazing and I’m still going to order your onesie but I just wanted someone to talk to. And your comment section is always the best. I’m definitely just word vomiting at this point but thank you SO much from the bottom of my heart for doing what you do because I honestly don’t know if I’d still be here without your videos. The house is over 6 THOUSAND square feet. The average American home is 1600sq ft. That is almost 4 times the size that most families live in and you're complaining about no storage space? Turn one of the 6 bedrooms into a storage room. Or use the wine cellar.

Colleen, I am coming from the best loving place as I say this and it is out of true concern as a Momma Bear. If you had to move because your last house was discovered and you felt unsafe and violated, why are you showing so much of this house? I understand this is your family vlog and personally I love watching you and your family. But showing your entire new home complete with bedroom location is putting you back into the position you just left. If I came to your home as a guest would you allow me into your bedroom or your children's rooms? Would you feel comfortable if I just went into these rooms? The same boundaries should be in place for your virtual guests as well. People are strange and take advantage of wonderful, open, loving people like you. You put people at such ease with your fun loving open personality and some will they feel they know you and feel that they are as familiar to you as you are to them. I know we are all curious and want to see absolutely everything but again, if I showed up at your home as a guest you would be mortified if I entered those rooms. Maybe limit filming to your office and kitchen but leave bedrooms and private areas you wouldn't allow guests off limits. The internet is full of people that do not have your best interests at heart and use this type of information for nefarious reasons. Please, take this from a place of love as that is my true intention. And if my advice does not sit well with you or apply please disregard.
    Signed,
A concerned fan and Momma Bear

With all due respect if you’re stressed about clutter why don’t you donate/get rid of stuff? Like for example, a box of pregnancy clothes - why do you need that when you’ve already decided you’re done having kids? And honestly if the kids aren’t crying for the toys that are stored in boxes then they probably don’t really need nor want them that much!

I cried at everything you mentioned and I still cry with pride when they do certain things. My oldest is 30 and was in a band that performed a lot and toured until covid started, but I cried watching him play in stage and when he plays for us. I feel like I can burst with pride every single time I watch all of my kids doing what they are passionate about. Also cut bangs, I love them on you, most importantly you want them ❤love to you all.?happy Thanksgiving everyone.

My mother was really emotional too but it wasn't just in tears. She was easy to laugh, easy to love. I got that from her and I appreciate her allowing her emotions to flow easily because it taught me that my home is a safe place for all and any emotions. I am open with my emotions because of my mom. Don't worry about the "constant" tears for some of us tears is how our body expresses all emotion.

Hi Colleen, love your vlogs so much, thank you for giving me my daily dose of joy when things are rough.
    **TIPS FOR SENSITIVE SKIN!!**
You briefly mentioned Wesley has sensitive skin.
I've been struggling with that my whole life. Some kids grow out of it, others, like me, don't. So here are some tips to make life easier while he still struggles with it - if you, or anyone else, want them.
(Just to preface: 1. I am not a medical professional, just someone with personal experience - always consult and listen to your medical professionals and 2. Everyone is different so always take it slow and test what works for you).
    1. The more natural, the better. In my case, sometimes, even if a product claims to be for sensitive skin, if it's more synthetic it still causes flare ups.
However, products that aren't always marketed for sensitive skin, but are made from 100% natural ingredients work very well (typically found on the "eco-friendly, organic, biodegradable" type websites). For example, essential oils are typically safer than fragrances if you want something that smells nice.
Which sounds obvious, I guess: putting orange slices in your bath won't cause a skin flare up, but using commercial orange fragranced soap or perfume will. But it took me forever to figure out naturally scented bath and body products don't cause issues, so I thought I'd mention it for anyone else who hasn't made the connection either.
I spent so long using bland, unscented products only to discover recently that it doesn't have to be that way. I was even able to find nice smelling, natural bubble bath that I can use.
(This tip will be especially helpful if his skin allergies last until puberty, because finding deodorant that doesn't cause skin irritation and still manages BO can be very challenging).
(** But once again - different strokes for different folks - if your allergies are caused by something else this may not work for you. Also, natural doesn't automatically = safe. Bee venom, Belladonna and poison ivy are also 100% natural but they most certainly aren't safe - so be careful which plants and ingredients you use, especially in DIY cases, even if they are 100% natural **).
    2. Just a little bit of Lavender essential oil and Rooibos in your bath is said to be really good for allergy prone skin (but Rooibos is indigenous to South Africa, where I'm from, so maybe you can find something closer to home that works better). Other ideas I haven't personally tried include oatmeal water, chamomile, coconut oil or olive oil.
    3. In bad skin flare ups, bathe with non-scented cream / oitment instead of soap. Keep skin very well moisturised to reduce itchiness - especially in winter.
    4. Flare ups can come from unexpected places - a change in laundry detergent, shampoo, some room sprays or room diffusers etc. Once again, it may sound obvious now, but you'll be surprised how long it can take to figure it out when you aren't looking at it from an outside perspective.
    5. Try to avoid using too much allergy medicine for mild flare ups or for long term use - if you can. In my experience, and that of those around me, it looks like you can build up a tolerance to many of the over the counter antihistamines which makes them ineffective later on. Which means, when you do really need medicine for really bad flare ups, it won't work anymore because your body will have gotten accustomed to it. So use allergy medicine sparingly in mild cases. Also, cortisone creams can make your skin very thin and fragile if used long term, which also isn't ideal.
I hope this helps someone ♡
