Idk about other people but i’ve always done Advent starting with number 1 ending with 24/25 because typically the 24/25 is more unique/bigger than day 1-23 so to me its always made sense to have the special thing at the end of Advent rather than at the start

Idk about that coop Colleen. Raccoons are going to make quick work of it, the skunks will dig right under. It just looks like your backyard probly attracts a lot of wild life that will be looking to eat your eggs and chickens.

Hear me out... if you and Erik still want to have a wedding party with your friends/family to celebrate you getting married, that archway in your backyard would make for the BEST wedding photos with a few string lights. Also so happy for you and your little family with this big move! Sending hugs from another neurodivergent brain, time heals all and the change will start to feel like the new normal soon, I promise!

As a peds oncology nurse.. I can’t wait for the livestream 💛 everyday I go to work and watch these kids fight for their lives, and yes, it can be tough. But I also have learned so much from these sweet kids, like how to live, how to appreciate everyday, and that’s just to name a few. They are truly the most resilient people I have ever cared for as a nurse, and so are their families. So many families have given up EVERYTHING to be by their kids side. They have been through hell and back, but are still the most kind, caring souls. So if you have a little extra, consider donating! It really does help so much.
You do an amazing job and your amazing never forget that! You and all of those beautiful kids deserve the best

As a Canadian I couldn’t imagine growing up without snow! I literally went home from the hospital in a baby snow suit 😂 So cute you guys took them to see the ‘snow’ love it seeing snow for the first time is magical 💗

I just bought my tickets for your fundraiser! I lost both parents by the time I was 16 to cancer and my step son is currently fighting AML. I always try to donate whenever possible and I’m so happy and thankful that you do this every year!! Thank you for always focusing so much on giving back. I can’t wait!

Colleen, I’m SURE that you have but I just have to say something because of my mama anxiety. Please make sure you secure the new bookshelves that Rachel and Abby put together to the walls. Specially because they are heavy and full of books now, I worry about the babies pulling up on them. I know they’re never left alone but accidents happen and it would be my worst fear for one to topple over.
Colleen saying 56 degrees is cold when this morning I woke up for work at 445 and when I left at 615 it had warmed up to 9 degrees. That's a warm spell lol. Last week we had almost half a foot in parts. Lots of love from this Northern Michigan Momma ❤️

Hi Colleen, just wanted to say that anything that can fit inside of a toilet paper roll, is considered a choking hazard for babies. I was nervous seeing Maisy with your lip stick tube. I just took a CPR class this morning where we talked about babies and choking, so I felt like I should say something :)
I'm so disappointed! The Portland, OR theatre won't be able to accommodate my wheelchair for the orchestra level. I paid for the VIP Meet & Greet back in July.
The box office said that the production company told the theatre too late that there needs to be stairs from the stage to the floor...and so there's no way to accommodate my wheelchair. I'm so sad!!
I'm glad I called the theatre, otherwise this would be a huge shock when I arrived.
I've been waiting nearly 15 years to see this show and am beyond frustrated that they can't accommodate my wheelchair

I think its so interesting how people who live in different parts of the country get accustomed to their weather. I live in Omaha Nebraska and today it was 28 degrees and I thought it felt really nice out.

Oh honey you dont know cold. 56 here isn't shorts weather but its still t-shirt and no coat. Thats the temp we had today and I left work without my coat on. But Im in Iowa. We will return to the 30s tomorrow and snow before the week is out.

Humans are adaptable… I guess that the no sleep habit contributes to her being so skinny though. Her body has to be under a lot of stress.

Advent for Christians started last Sunday. Advent means “The Coming”. When Jesus was born but also when HE is coming back. I love the addition of light when lighting the Advent candles.🤠❤️
24/25 day advent calendars you start at one and count up. That’s why the 24/25th is often a larger little gift, cuz it’s finally Christmas
Colleen and her family are so amazing. They give me a daily dose of happiness that I didn’t know I needed! I also LOVE the fact that we are our her little “extended family”!

56 degrees is beautiful here in Massachusetts. We really had an exceptionally warm fall this year too. I loved it!!!! I get it if you come from the west coast, though. I am sure it is on the chilly side for you all.
Hi Collen - you got a lovely back garden - but just a little bit concern for the kids and your animals - i see (not a 100% sure) you have Pencil cactus in the walk way (6:39) - be very careful of them - PLEASE - if the kids handle it or pick a piece - it burns like hell and can blind you if the white sap get into your eyes - so if it is Pencil cactus - please take it out of your garden - for the kids and animals sake - PLEASE - PLEASE - just saying!

I thought about it for a bit and as I live in New Zealand I figured it's a better idea to donate to foundations here in my country. I truly love that this is something you do every year and you are so inspiring to me. Since watching you I've donated blood for those that need it supported local charities and fundraisers and grown to be more thankful for the life I have and to give more to others ❤️

It usually only snows if it’s below 32 degrees. 40 degrees can also have snow because it’s colder in the atmosphere but it’ll melt pretty fast

With advent calendars you go from 1-24 or 25. The last one is usually the biggest prize, on christmas eve or christmas day.

That yaaaardddd.... it looks like a botanical garden! So lovely! A grape trellis? Chickens are a great idea - if you trap the wild cats or get a guard animal like maybe a mini goat? A coyote or fox could get the chickens if they don't hide in the coop quick enough....

Hey! Just a heads up, chickens will be able to fly over that fence. You'll need to make it much higher (and probably add a roof over the run).
In Germany, most advent calendars are 1-24 days and then on the 6th (st Nikolaus day) the kids get candy, oranges, nuts, etc in their stocking or shoe.

For advent calendars I always open the number that corresponds to the current day. So on Dec 17 I open #17. I think they are designed to go in that order because usually the best things are in the higher numbers...
The twelve days of Christmas are traditionally after Christmas. It between Christmas and epiphany (when the Magi visited baby Jesus). So if you do it before then it doesn’t really matter, whatever will make you the most happy.

I always go 1->24. At least with cheapo chocolate ones the 24th one is bigger than the others. And sometimes there’s a story and it goes 1->24 as well. So I always do 1 first
