We had way too much fun working on rooms for @PsychoSoprano's 3-year-old, Flynn, and her newborn twins, Wesley & Maisy.
We let Flynn be in control of his new room, and his request was: trucks... trucks... TRUCKS! To start, we used an Etsy design to build Flynn his very own bulldozer bed -- the main attraction! We also incorporated some colorful artwork, extra storage for toys & books, and a secret door leading to his sibling's nursery. We made sure that all of Flynn's most-loved cars & trucks could be on display, turning this space into the ultimate toddler room!

Flynn's nursery by Mr Kate was very cute, but this is so his personality!! I'm glad they kept the wood feature wall.
Yeah, they didn’t know who Flynn was when they did his nursery, he’s not a huge dinosaur fan, trucks are his thing!

I love how Drew was down to make the truck bed but also recommended not doing too many permanent fixtures that would be hard to change as flynn grows up! I feel like makeover shows run with the kids obsession too much sometimes and it’s hard to change when they grow out of it! This was an amazing makeover with simple and functional fixtures!
I couldn't agree more.
I have worked on makeover shows as a field producer. The reason we run with what the subject is into (cars, trucks, nature, animals etc) is because of the reactions captured on camera. I guess we don't really think long term, it's just what benefits the programme and makes the recipients happy at that time.
@@kylescheele5500 oh sure! Extreme Makeover: Home Edition made for amazing reactions and great TV! It’s just that what is good for TV isn’t always practical in the long run.

I BEGGED for one of these to connect from my closet to the guest room closet so I could visit my cousins. But sadly my parents said no. My future children are going to have a treehouse and a secret tunnel
I’m almost 100% sure this is something me and my sisters DIYed in our connected closet via a hole in the wall that hands could pass stuff.
When Flynn started jumping on the bed the mom in me immediately went “omg those corners by the wheels 😳” but I love that Drew thought ahead!

Drew thought ahead but I highly doubt Coalleen will always use them, from what she shows she doesn't always have her kids safety in mind

Just came from Colleen’s channel!! Thank you so much for doing this for her. I couldn’t think of a more deserving person to collab with DREW FROM THE PROPERTY BROTHERS. Have you ever made a treehouse-esque kids room? With the bed lofted and the kid can slide down from his bed and either use a ladder to climb up or a climbing wall? 🤔 I always thought that that would be such an awesome kids room design.
That sounds really fun but maybe not the best for as they age out of it. Probably expensive and in a few years they’ll be over it and want something different. Once they hit teens they’ll probably want something more simple.

Flynn loves and talks about trucks so much that I've learned all I know about trucks from him. I didn't even know what a snowplow, skid steer, and cement mixer were until I watched Colleen's vlog channel.
I feel so bad for the designer that Colleen spoiled the bed surprise. You could tell he was heartbroken over that. 😭

@@lucyinthesky199 Flynn had a lot of changes going on, with his parents all of a sudden being gone for hours at a time without him (going to the hospital both to have the babies and then back and forth to the NICU). I'm sure they wanted him to have some sort of normalcy. Not to mention Colleen was up every 3 hours pumping for the twins, I'm sure they didn't want to disturb his sleep.

I love this truck room! So glad you have pads for the sharp dozer arms. A floating pool water noodle, they have different sizes, cut on one side, can slip over the 2x4, which will give protection. Otherwise I see a big bump on Finns head in the future! 😟…Just one other thing I noticed was the floor lamp. Those with kids or even adults can get knocked over very easily and have been known to start fires. I had not only read this information, but tried with 4 kids to have one in my house. It was a total failure.

They did an amazing job on the twin's room and did Flynn's room to a t! I loved Eric's idea for the little door and between the rooms that is gonna be so special for the kids and I love that he remembers it from his childhood

This is so adorable. And I can only imagine Flynn is going to grow up and say Mom, Wesley an Maisy won’t leave me alone. They keep coming into my room! But that is so cool. I wish I had had that. My siblings were much older and I was the unplanned baby so I’m sure my siblings never would’ve allowed it!

Absolutely the most amazing bulldozer bed in a truck themed bedroom for one of the most amazing toddlers I know, and his definitely most amazing parents! Thank You for doing all of this for them! We tend to be a little protective over our Colleen and her family, especially with this pregnancy and all she has gone through with that… and then the traumatic birth and all that has happened since. It’s Fabulous to see wonderful people like you and your wife and your other workers helping to get the job done ✅

His reaction was the cutest. That kinda sucks it wasn’t waited for the big reveal. I would have been disappointed tbh as the designer the vocal point got revealed early.
She had family come from out of town for a few weeks around Thanksgiving. I'm sure she needed the spare bed in the podcast room for her guests to stay and had Flynn sleep in his own room while they were there. There was also over a month from when they filmed the first part and when the rooms were actually finished.
At least she filmed the reaction so they could still have it in the video.
This is increeedible. I think it will take a really long time for Flynn to "outgrow" this bedroom because it would still look cool when he's already in school too

I think it is the greatest thing that you asked Flynn what he wanted in his room. It was so sweet that you wanted to do something for Flynn and not leave him out. That bed is awesome! My Son-in-Law got the plans also, and built the exact one for my Grandson, and he loves it! My Grandson chose to paint his bed green. I love the reaction from Flynn. I'm sure my Grandson had the same reaction.

Omg I had a secret door from my wardrobe to my sisters wardrobe when we were younger! We called it our trap door and we use to confuse visitors by going into my room and coming out of my sisters or vice versa. It was also easier to stay up late and sneak into each other’s rooms without getting caught.
Both rooms are so amazing!

As a child once upon a time myself, they’re gonna need a lock on the small door. I HATED naps and was a slight mastermind at escaping sleeping. You think he’s in his room and BOOM he’s standing in the fridge.
