Hi I bought it just last week, do you know how many km the twin engine in hybrid mode works? It seem that it si spending more electricity that in pure mode
Reliable safety XC40! I drove an PHEV version and sometimes the car accelerated so fast :) The garage have just tuned driving feature in my car and now really I enjoy in hybrid mode by its comfort drivability. Power mode is still fast and power as it was.
Purchased a ‘22 GLA and could not be more pleased. This review leaves out a TON of useful information regarding the pros and cons of all the cars mentioned - like reliability and overall maintenance costs (spoiler - MB wins these categories). After doing a ton of research myself against all these vehicles, GLA was a clear winner for the ride quality, modern and luxurious interior, and the interior space. Def recommend you look around at other videos 😉
how is the transmission hump? I've watched many vids that shoe the GLA has a high hump. But it seems to differ from vid to vid. how is it for your 22 GLA?
Hi! I want to get a used 2021 gla250 with low miles but I’m afraid that it might fail me. I’ve been doing tons of research and having a car with low miles seems like the advantage here. I’m planning on financing the car and want to be sure that I’m financing a vehicle that is going to be reliable. I don’t drive much. I stay very local. Friends that have MB have told me that the maintenance is only expensive if the car has a lot of miles on it…. Other than that I’ve heard that it’s very safe and reliable.
I own a Mercedes GLA for a few years now and I don’t like it as much as my husband GLC 300 sedan. Have been thinking about a switch to either BMW X1 or Q3 for a while now. I just hate to go for a test drive cz we are one of those suckers that when we walk into a dealership, we couldn’t walk away empty hands. 😣 Thank you for this great comparison! 👍👍
I would agree but take a look and drive of the 21 - 22 it’s much like the glc.. I dumbed my bmw computer nightmares mine spent half a year at the dealer before dumping that garbage
Totally agree with this. I looked at all these as well as the Porsche Macan before getting the xc40. Had for almost 3 years and love it like it’s new still
OMG! Thank you for making this video and pointing the obvious that the Passport, CRVs, Rav4s, and CX5 are treading on the lower-end price range for these luxury models! You've just saved me 2 days worth of research!!! I can now focus on checking out Audi Q3 and the XC-40 vs the Passport. The one other issue I heard about the xc-40 was the screen going black while driving. Even though this was reported 2 yrs ago, when I heard the model first came out, I wonder if Volvo got that fixed. However, I just saw another review that said the 2021 Passport had a similar issue w/the screen and the speedometer going black while the vehicle was being driven. The reviewers got it fixed but still, I can't imagine that was a great experience!
As an XC40 2020 owner I can confirm that no they haven’t eliminated that problem. Mine goes black on a weekly basis leaving me with no sat nav or phone for a 30 minute journey.
Not had that problem with my 2020 XC40 (actually zero problem in 12 months)......however I don’t think it would be a major problem as it’s not necessary to be looking at the screen all the time!
We had these four vehicles on our shopping list and ended up getting a fully loaded 2021 Audi Q3. So far, we couldn’t be happier. It’s solid feeling on the road, with just enough sportiness and looks we found appealing. We ruled out the GLA after a test drive that revealed some interior ‘creaks’ that left us wondering about its quality. The XC40 was nice, but we didn’t like having to use the touch screen to control everything (can you say distracted driving). The X1 was off the list early because of a negative dealership experience. Our seven year old BMW 4-Series has been a trouble free joy to own, but the dealership has pissed us off a couple of times.
I was seriously considering the 2021 Audi Q3 but was not happy about the middle back seat being too small that technically won’t even fit a booster seat so I ended up getting a BMW X1 which is more roomier.

Ride confort is directly related to the rim size and tires. Never go over 19'' rims and you´ll be fine. Continental PremiumContact 6 SSR 235/50 R19 99W is the sweet spot.

I am not very familiar with Volvo products. I have always known they are safe vehicles, but what about reliability? I know that is a weird question to ask when we are talking about 3 german cars, but I heard the Merc is the most reliable against the Audi and BMW (I guess it depends on which source you are looking at), but how does Volvo stack up?
Test drove all besides the GLA and got the X1. The handling felt great, like a proper BMW, while the Audi and the Volvo felt boring and without character.
Hi Shari, You mentioned on another video that the new Prime RAV4 goes 65kms on one charge. How much does Lexus nx300 hybrid go on one charge before it switches to gasoline?
The Lexus NX300h is a standard hybrid so it always uses both gas and electric power. It does not have a dedicated electric range like plug-in hybrids, which is what the RAV4 Prime is. The NX300h is comparable to the regular RAV4 Hybrid.
These cars all are “mild hybrids”. Unlike full hybrids where government regulations demand a long term warranty (10 yrs 10,000miles) replacement of the “mild hybrid” 48 V batteries are owner’s $3400 -$4000 responsibility and do not have a government required long -term warranty.
