In Russia, apartments are classifyed with different names or class levels. Depending on the building, the facilities or even the location. As this apartment was currently tenanted until Febuary, I didn't put the link to the listing because the family wish to remain anonymous. Which is very normal in Russia with apartments like this. What do you think of a place like this? Could you live there??

@@TravellingwithRussell While there may not be a ban to traveling to the Russian Federation it is morally corrupt. No corporation that is law abiding and sticking with the sanctions wants to sponsor a man who is spreading Russian Federation propaganda saying how cheap and wonderful it is and look what it has to offer while almost a Million Russians have died and well over 1 million have fled. It is not surprising that no one wants any part of that is it now?

@@TravellingwithRussell Of course this channel is BANNED in the Russian Federation! Most companies abide by the sanctions. It would be hard to find a company who would be willing to sponsor an Aussie walking around Russia and showing how great it is when the average wage of a Russian is 250-350 Rubles an hour and Surgeons make 350,000 a month. Very understandable why a legit company with any kind of conscious would not want to support your station when literally over a million probably closer to 2 million have died or fled the Russian Federation while you post your videos like everything is rosy. Nice job getting my previous comment pulled. Hope you cannot get this one pulled. People need to know the truth about your station.

You can't see the parade itself, no such buildings around Red Square. But before the parade the tanks and other machines are stationed at Tverskaya Street waiting to make their entrance. So, people who live at Tverskaya usually stay on their balconies and watch. I may have heard there were certain owners who rented their balconies to those who were willing to pay 😂. Not sure how it is now though.
Also, many people, especially with children, usually come to the center early in the morning before the metro exits are closed, and stand along the streets, again to watch the tanks and other vehicles.

The foyer is too large, the dining table is in the middle of the entry, the "kitchen" is a breakfast bar, that sauna is a waste of space and the bedrooms are all clustered together. The important things like a kitchen are minimized and the Not do important things, master bedroom & living room, are huge.

In the US a master bedroom means a bedroom with an attached private full bathroom. Every average house or townhouse in the US has one, or at least newer houses built within the last 50 years or so. Some houses, especially ones meant more as vacation rentals, can sometimes have two or more master bedrooms, which enables multiple families or couples that are friends to rent large houses together for a vacation at the shore, for example. But in that case a master bedroom with a bath for each is a must. Kids of couse can share hall bathrooms. So I see this room does have an attached bathroom so i guess it is a master. The balcony would be better suited to be off a livingroom or family room where it can be easier shared by the whole family.

Location is everything and I prefer to be closer to the city but for big families it makes sense.
An apartment that big would cost double if it’s closer to the inner ring.
Everyone has different stages of their life so in the west once kids grow up and move out parents often sell and buy a smaller place closer to the cafe or city areas or beaches.

I would want a larger TV room/lounge as you call it and a smaller kitchen table space. I get the feeling everyone hangs out around the dining table in RU. Thank you for showing all the different housing options. If you can show one of those townhouses near your apt that would be great.

I think you'll find that to be case in most countries in Europe as well. I think built-in closets are a pretty uniquely American thing, maybe Canadian too, not sure. In general i think Americans on the average own far more clothes and shoes than anywhere else in the world. Years ago i remember being surprised to learn in Europe that people there typically wear the same outfit for a week, not a different one every day. I mean they might change their underwear or even shirt, that i don't know, but the same jacket, skirt, trowsers, etc. And so they travel on business with half the luggage that an American might. In America this kind of imperative to have so much clothes was probably promoted for the sake of business revenue.

We do not have laundry rooms in the basements, at all. We all own our own washing machines in the apartments. We have self-serving laundries, mostly used by those who want to wash/clean big pieces like bed covers, etc, and spare money. And we have "dry cleaning" companies, who would take everything you want to clean/wash and do it at their laundry facilities.

For one, that steam room that isn't being used is about the same square footage as the kitchen. I would have a smaller steam room and allocate that square footage to the kitchen. Also, the layout seems very choppy and that hallway is a waste of space. I would try to redo it to get rid of that long hallway.

Not clear how many underground parking spots are included, lockers? Is there a community center with recreation/fitness rooms, swimming pool, etc.? One of the main benefits of living in such a place comparing a standalone house would be having all these amenities in close proximity, not needing to drive there every time. As for the apartment itself, it definitely lacks a ground or rooftop patio, or at least an extra-large open balcony to put there a barbeque, etc.

This. Is. Awful. I am always disappointed at Soviet style/design regarding rooms - long and narrow. This never seems to change regardless of income/luxury levels. I am sorry, Russell. This ₽400K/$4100 a month, not including utilities, "Russian Elite" apartment has so many issues for me. I find the kitchen to be ridiculously small; the layout is just awful; the bathroom/hammam opening into the kitchen/dining room; the pillar in the dining room; the size and layout of the bathrooms; the old fashioned toilets; the electrical panels located in a room adjacent to the hammam; the use of a balcony off the master bedroom as a "Russian refrigerator"; and the rainshower head in the master bath on the left side of the shower rather than on the right or center; the recessed entry into the living area; and the location of the air conditioning units. OMG. Who laid this out? The architect should be whipped with those banya tree branches for this.
As to the interior design of the owner... Definitely not to my taste. I feel like the owners are trying to convey wealth and taste with the chandeliers, heavy carved furniture, brocade, and so on. This is juxtaposed with the Ikea vanities in the bathrooms. WT...?
The transoms (windows above doors, windows in that dining room, etc.) show exactly how awful this entire apartment has been laid out.
