We live in America. I pay $928 for the privilege of living around junkies, mice, and roaches in the apartment. The owners and managers won't take measures needed to get rid of all three. We would live to live in this apartment for $500 with that incredible shower. We wouldn't care about the washer/dryer in the dining area.
PS: Our cat would love the balcony and windows.

Wow. How did you end up in Bishkek of all places? It's probably worth mentioning that this is a remote mountainous area. It looks very very quiet, birds singing, no disturbances of any kind, seems very peaceful and nice trees everywhere. From what I know this area is also fairly warm, so you might feel at home there. It is probably not as hot as Australia, but I imagine much warmer than Moscow. In UK such buildings are called "gated communities" and they are exactly the same. Have fence, gate, door entry for residents only. But in UK you would pay £5K for this. Not $500. The flat looks really spacious and with lots of light. Considering you are in a remote area, there's every possible convenience there. And seeing apricots is much nicer than a busy nasty road with car fumes which is what you'd get in cities like London :-)

I refer to the engineered floors as ‘laminate’ floors. Really smart apart with that large lounge and tall ceilings. The decor reminds me of the villa my folks had when they lived in Dubai for a few years. $500 per month is the same as £398 per month here in the UK and that’s the bargain of the century! £398 per month here will barely get you a single room bedsit. This spacious apartment would cost you at least $2.5-3k here! And that’s being conservative. Mind blowing. Great video!

Yes. Laminate flooring. My house is wall to wall laminate. Vacuuming is easier because all you have to do is vacuumed, but it's a bite when carpet gets dirty. Laminate cleaning? First sweep. Then wash (with very little water).

I can see why this is called a luxury apartment. The marble foyer, elaborate woodwork and ceilings, and super jacuzzi shower are special.
In my opinion the dining room is sitting in the perfect location for a large kitchen which would explain why the washing machine sits there. The dining table should be shifted to part of the living/lounge area and the TV located there as well. The glass door cabinet could be split and rearranged to serve both the dining room and kitchen.

It looks like the buildings around would give a beautiful night time city scape with all the lights of the city. That is such a big thing if you live in a large city in the USA, the lights from the city. Of course those of us that live in the Country, it's the quiet peacefulness, and not having a ton of city lights.

A very lovely apartment for sure. I would rent it on a temporary basis but I would not buy it as it is now. The space is huge but it was poorly designed in my opinion. That kitchen is way too small and the washer does not belong in the dining room. There is so much room in the couch area and that could've been a little smaller to allow the kitchen more room. I do love all the windows in the couch area and I would have that filled with plants. It seems like a lovely area as well. Some you showed in Moscow seemed a little run down, or not kept up. It looked tired. It badly needed some landscaping. But here seems a little brighter, happier maybe? But I did overall like this apartment.

These kinds of apartments are called "Elite" opposed to soviet apartments. Usually cheaply built and often not properly maintained, as shown in this video. There are actually good apartment complexes/condos here in Bishkek, these would set you back 2-3-4 times the price of the one shown. Pretty much every newer(2000s and up) apartment building, regardless of price and quality here in Bishkek is called "Elite" for some reason.

@@edennis8578 What you said is only partially true. First, most Kyrgyzstanis own their homes/apartments. Second, the salaries in Bishkek are above contry averages (not to mention the grey economy reality of this country, meaning that a big part of peoples income isn't accounted for). Third, the rent prices are still inflated by the influx of Russians fleeing from mobilization and political stuff. Still, the place looks somewhat run-down and poorly maintained, which conflicts with the "elite" or "luxury" status people assign to this kind of property.

Great tour, Russell! Loved the bath and built in cabinets. The column in the living room is odd. That room needs to be an open space. The washing machine in the dining room is different, but easily solved. There should be a second bath with room for a washing machine. While we’re at it, why aren’t there dryers? The kitchen is cute, but I agree that it’s too small.

It seems a bit odd that with all the storage around the apartment they could have made a cabinet around the washer machine to hide it. If they could hide the dishwasher they could've made steps for it too. Also as for the oddly placed furniture the living room it's pretty big, it could be broken up to make a proper office space towards the windows where the pillar sits.

That is a Steam Shower (about $5K just for the unit in the USA) - they take a LOT of water pressure and hot water to run well. I suspect that is why they put the hot water heater up above it. (it also will have a "steam generator" as well)
I am not sure why they aren't more popular in the USA given they aren't THAT expensive compared to a house.

Those doors looks more like a security door than just a simply sturdy door….and the double key is (or was) a standard in most countries whenever you install(ed) a security door instead of a normal one - I remember my house from when I was a teenager (over 20 years ago) having a security door with the double key. Back then security doors were quite expensive, but since today the newer ones are likely more smart-home getting a basic one with double key (if they still exist) should be not that costly anymore.

Russell, you would make a fortune if you could import stackable washer and dryer units. And it would fit where you have the washer. Or import a washer/dryer in a single unit.
