"Subject slaughtered all adults in a small town, cutting all limbs off of them in the process. Then took the children and sold most into slavery while keeping some to perform twisted experiments on.... no discernable mental abnormalities"
The Foundation researchers in charge of the experiments are not there to pass moral judgement, but rather to account for variables to the beat of their abilities. Using subjects with mental abnormalities would introduce unnecessary variables into the experiments. As for the subjects themselves - something something "the banality of evil"...
I truly hope you're not actually a practicing psychologist, because your implied belief that sane people can't commit crimes is dangerous and irresponsible.
@@XH1927 I don't think that's what their implying. Just that if you had someone who suffered from hallucinations for example they would be unreliable for testing this SCP.
How else are you going to know if these things are real? The easiest way to do that is to try to have something touch it, like a tennis ball tossed from the other side of the room.
@C R They had the D-class describe the exact location of the creature prior to ordering him/her to throw tennis balls at the thing. That way they'd know if the balls are thrown in the creatures direction. What's really stupid is having the research team stand behind completely see through piece of glass. Imagine if the test chamber contained some sort of a threat, wouldn't you want to conceal the research team from it? Not to mention, it makes managing the D-class much easier if they can't actually see the science staff.
@@dakkahead517I think you have to be conciously attempting to interact with it, as the person blindly spraying the room didn’t get killed, seemingly because they weren’t aiming for that entity spesifically
I know the comment is a bit old but doesn't the shit that they give d-class before they became d-class cause them to forget who they were before they took it?
I can't believe these researchers forgot that if they didn't interact with them then they wouldn't be killed, you'd think they did enough tests to realise this.
@Stock Name Killing them doesn't keep them safe. They were warned by potential killing. And frankly, the Foundation has little care for Class-D personnel. D stands for disposable, after all.
@@WarcrimeDragon Most. It depends on the 'supply' they need. If there's not enough death row. they'll go down in degrees of horribless. Prisoners there for their life anyways, or otherwise really long terms. If its really bad. Any Prisoners, or even homeless people will be taken for D-Class
What would happen if SCP-173 wears 178? Would it stay frozen permanently, realising it's always being observed, or finally shed the performance anxiety and start snapping necks in eyesight?
Aaron W. Nichols it would depend on the results of the test that hasn't been run yet. SCP-173 does not possess an organic set of eyes, being made entirely of concrete and rebar. If the cameras in the final test are able to see the entities, then it may be possible. Although it makes me wonder, considering the Constitution of SCP-173 is concrete, whether or not it is capable of "seeing" at all, or merely can detect through some unknown other sense if it is being observed or not.
"As the subject is dead, we cannot know if the tennis ball passed through where the entity was standing." I agree scientist man, maybe the entity just really hates tennis balls.
It's a pretty important distinction, is it enough to merely attempt to interact with the creature or do you actually have to interact in order to be the target of an attack by the entity? Is it the action itself or the intent behind the action? Like, if you know that these entities exist around you and accidentally make contact, is that enough to be harmed?
@@CedarHunt and we dont know if the ball really passed though it, maybe the creature just avoided it and the ball would actually change irection if it hit him
@@k3v1n73 Exactly. One of the big questions around these creatures is whether they are actual, physical entities that we simply can't sense without using the glasses or if the anomalous effects are coming from the scp itself through some means. In practice this makes a big difference, destroying the glasses may eliminate the threat or it could merely destroy the only known means of detecting a previously unknown threat.
It could be some form of quantum mechanical effect. A tennis ball passing through an entity isn't totally different than quantum tunneling. This could also explain why they don't show up on basic imaging...you need much better computers to measure subatomic particles and many like Higgs boson are still being discovered. I'd put these things as something akin to fourth dimensional beings. I cannot answer, 'why so serious?' During interaction
Imagine if that agent hadn't found the scp so quickly. "Okay boys, pack up everything in the room and bring it to testing." "Now testing item 25, a half eaten snikers bar."
noop2doop they do do that though. That’s how they’ve found a few of them, like one of the paintings(I think it was the one with the hand/eye?)... they just took everything from the storage unit and slowly tested each one until they found the anomaly, and then discarded the rest after they were found normal.

Probably in the same way you're testing Gravity. Is it the Gravity that kills you, the fall, or the impact? Basically, was it the SCP that murdered the guy, or was it the glasses themselves responsible: maybe it was the glasses portraying someone else killing him?
It *could* be that the glasses just cause injuries to anyone nearby who interacts with the illusory creatures. That would explain why no other method the Foundation attempts actually shows the creatures; they aren't really there.
xXDeadouTXx just because an illusion interacts with the environment does not make any more real, hence the question still stands as no disturbances were detected with the divider itself.
I like to think that people redacting everything from names to dates is just an easy way to avoid thinking of fake names or having to comb through time for historical accuracy and honestly I'm all for it
That makes no sense historical accuracy for what exactly? And redacted names makes sense too, if documents got leaked to the public no one could track D class who on official papers *should* be in a prison somewhere but is instead long dead and was killed in an extremely inhumane way that would make Nazi scientist blush, in an underground top-secret foundation funded and approved by all the world’s governments. Or agents who are disguised and hiding in plain sight And scenarios like that have happened before, SCP-2137 did exactly that just to prove a point that the foundation can never and will never contain him. And if they keep trying next time he won’t purposely leak info just small enough for them to be able to fix it, but big enough for them to crap their pants. *That’s* why names and dates are redacted.
Next test: some guy goes into room with the glasses to scout entities, if there are any in there take the glasses off and leave. Then make a second guy go into the room and start breaking shit without knowing there are things in there and see if he gets attacked. Maybe chalk it up as like "we have new decontamination protocol you have to test, it involves you spraying this whole room with a flame thrower" That way, entities are guaranteed to be interacted with by someone that doesn't know they're there. If he's fine, then humanity doesn't have to worry about anything. If he dies, well, now we have to worry about every accidental stray arm flail potentially killing us.
It's confirmed the entities don't care if they get interacted with by someone who's oblivious to their presence. In the last experiment an agent basically fired his gun in its general direction and the agent was left alone. The implication of this SCP is that these dangerous entities are literally everywhere, next to us, watching us, but we just can't see them.
Unless the entities are real, they're very interesting in our stuff (like that monitor three of them were examining) for some nefarious reason, and humanity chucking SCP-178 in a box and forgetting all about them is the best thing they can hope for.
So basically the 3D lenses allow people to see these creatures, which are in a plane of existance where we normally can't see or hear. Whether if we can touch them or not wasn't proved, just that they can physically touch us. What's more, is that these creatures are intelligent. They don't like being "known". People who wore the lenses but didn't intercat directly with them, but just described them were left alone. People who tried to engage in converstations with them, tried to touch them or that knew that they were there were killed by them. This means that, to this creatures, they don't care if you stare at them... because we are all technically staring at them all the time. They, however, may find it odd that one looks at them directly using the lenses; that would imply the wearer "knows" they are there, but they won't do anything anyways if the person doesn't talk directly to them at least. To them, if you look at them, they won't find it weird. If you keep staring at them in their general position without moving, they may suspect but that still doesn't prove you know their existance; I mean, cats usually stare into the nothingness sometimes... maybe they think of us like that. If we do more than simply describe them and engage into as much of a greeting, knowing they are there, that would imply we "know them". If we interact with them physically, it would be the same. And if someone who doesn't have the lenses but knows there are creatures everywhere and is told to talk to a specific direction (the position of one of the creatures), that would also imply those people know of them. That's why the girl that simply greeted the creature and the staff died... they all knew there were creatures in the room even if they couldn't see them. It's like they don't like being acknowledged by us. And the reason the other guy survived despite firing the gun in the direction of the creature, it was because he didn't know of the creatures. Same with the detective that found the lenwses and noticed a multiple eyed creature leaning on his shoulder. It didn't attack because the detective didn't engage in a conversation with the creature nor it tried to touch it... he didn't acknowledged it, from the creature's perspective. It's like they have a sense to figure out if we know of their pressence or not. Even if we do know, they just wait for a proper signal. Even if you describe them, that's mere coincidence, but if you try to touch them or talk directly to them, they'll go berserk and attack you... It's like some sort of unwritten rule of: they must never know about our pressence. If they ever do, they must be killed.
I would have liked to see a test where one person wore the glasses and another walked round until they happened to collide with an entity, see if it has any effect on people who are unaware of its existence and haven't been told about it.
I would say demonic entities, as they tend to be unable to physically interacted with until a entity wishes to be able to physically capable of interacting, further three scratches is usually associated with demonic attacks.
Well if the person is randomly walking without knowledge of the entity around and wasn't instructed, they'd phase through it because they have no reason to even believe it's existence. Now, I wonder if someone wears them, takes them off, and then guesses to try to interact with an entity based on it's last known location. That might be interesting.
:o thats a good question. it seems the glasses allow the wearer to see these entities where ever the wearer looks, assuming the entities are present in that area. if the observed area was virtual, how would that affect the entities?
I like how SCP researchers can send clueless people to get cut up by extra-dimensional monsters but they can't write naughty words. edit: fixed a spelling error edit 2: I am fully justified in editing a coment and mentioning that it was to fix a spelling error. This second edit is just to be obnoxious and make you angry.
All D Class personnel at the time of this SCP's discovery were death row inmates for heinous crimes. She was set to be killed anyways at the end of 30 days after coming into Foundation custody. At the very least these deaths, while gruesome, are quick compared to most violent SCPs.
Marcus Yeah, and no crime listed either. Meaning it was entirely pointless. No sympathy for the researchers that got slaughtered there- they REALLY had it coming for such a senseless waste of human life, even for Foundation standards.
They don't always state their crimes. In fact, I think 2 or 3 people in this one didn't have their crimes stated, unless I wasn't paying attention. Normally they only state crimes that are particularly violent or cruel, causing us readers to have less empathy for them. It depends on the doctors/researchers writing the reports really. In some SCPs, D class personnel's names are given, while in others, not even their numbers are shown. And in some files, a mix of information is given on each D-class that was involved in the tests. Looking it up now, she could've been put on death row for just trying to kill a witness, juror, or court officer. As such it's entirely possible she, or someone she knew of, was going to be sentenced to prison, and in an attempt to ruin that case, she attempted to kill one of those people listed above. She could have also been a part of a large drug trafficking operation, treason, or espionage. In any of those cases, they'd probably refrain from explaining her crime in order to avoid unnecessary information about her getting out.
Joshua I have always thought that about this skip - I don’t think they’d trust a bunch of scumbag D-Class to hold an anomalous object. If I was a researcher I’d strap the subject to a chair and have the object lowered over their eyes mechanically 🤷🏻♂️
Having owned cats for over 20 years; when they sometimes suddenly look over at head-height at... nothing... and then watch *nothing* go across the room... yeah its kinda unnerving. Possible link.
Perhaps there's a connection. Like some sort of rule where we, humans, can't detect these creatures, but that doesn't apply to the other species. However, there may be something around these creatures that make the animals percive them as non agressive to them, or a natural warning that let the other species know they are dangerous. Like skin patterns on spiders, snakes and octopuses.
Yeah man, it's so unfair that D-class personnel whom are murderers and rapists constantly get killed by tests. It must be SOOoo satisfying for you when researchers of a corporation trying to protect mankind also get killed.
Was thinking the exact same thing. A bit disappointed to be honest. I was thrilled when I saw a 30min video pop up, unfortunately this SCP was very lazily written.
Probably because if they said, "D-Class is not mentally stable," then it's possible the faculty on hand would not allow the D-Class to participate in the experiment?
so... could these things do anything to that unkillable lizard scp? they seem to exist on another plane but fully capable of attacking anything in this dimension that tries to interact with them.
Chrono Triggerhappy I think the outcome will be similar to shy guy as lizard would be able to survive some thing as simple as lacerations, but we don't know the full potential of the entities
I'm halfway through, this seems like an scp that needs a senior researcher log at the end condemning how many d-class they're using up for a simple clarification
concept: What happens if you put SCP-178 over a video camera, then create an entirely synthetic "interaction" with a digitized voice over speakers and a CGI face over a screen? Will the entities attack the sources of the "interaction," even if that interaction is completely fake?
That's what i was wondering, if you used an inanimate object to interact with this SCP would they attack the person who caused it or the object itself. Also what happens if you locked someone into a room with no entities and showed them a recording, maybe they would see entities that were recorded but if you could then that would mean cameras could possibly be programmed to also see these entities. I wish the writer of this SCP finished writing that last experiment with putting the glasses on the camera lens
Love this SCP. I figured out how it works after watching Carl Sagan explain how different dimensions work. It's obvious these glasses reveal fourth or perhaps even higher dimensional beings by rendering them in three dimensions. While they are now visible in three dimensions, they move the same as they would in four (or higher), so they simply appear docile and slow to three dimensional onlookers. The glasses have limits it seems, so when the entities attack it cannot track their movements as they fade back into another dimension. The entities are obviously frightened by a lower dimensional being being able to perceive them, so they just kill them out of fear.
This explanation doesn't work. If the glasses let you see the fourth dimension the subject would not see the entities still moving in a 3 dimensional plane, if that was the case they could still be seen without the glasses. Furthermore, a 4D entity would be able to traverse 3D obstacles with ease (same way a 3D entity could merely step over a flat 2D object) so they would have no trouble getting passed the glass wall that was blocking them in experiment e-7.
Turdy Tootsan I don't believe the glasses let you see 4D in 3D fully. I believe that it let's you see 4D in 3D the same way we try to see 4D in the form of a tesseract, but never fully "see" it. So perhaps the entities do traverse the glass; the glasses simply aren't able to render such a thing in 3D (I stated previously that the glasses might have limits, as they were most likely created in our dimension). The entities are simply trying to understand our dimension. Again, this is just my theory.
Baroque Obama But if the entities could get past the glass partition, wouldn’t the D-Class have died way sooner? He was in there for several minutes before the experiment ended. I think the only reason he died at all was because there was an entity in the hallway or something, that was able to attack him when they opened the door to his test chamber.

"SCP-1111D Infinite D-Class Producer Object Class: Thaumiel. Secondary Class: Keter. ( [R] is redacted) Special Containment Procedures: 1111D is to be kept deep in Site [REDACTED] at approximately [REDACTED] thousand feet underground. Under supervision of Dr. Bright and Dr. [REDACTED], SCP-1111D is to be watched with infrared cameras, motion detectors, and RADAR approximately 500 meters from the entrance over and underground. At 8 PM every morning, MTF-"Wardens" will collect any creations. Description: SCP-1111D is a steel tube with a polymer coating, and lacks any markings except for a small symbol which reads 'WARNING: SMALL PARTS NOT FOR CHILDREN UNDER 3 YEARS' and 'Product of (unintelligible), 30 day warranty. See your owner's manual.' At approximately every 30 seconds (Time can vary from 10 seconds, to up to 5 minutes), the machine will close, emit a noise at ~100 decibels, and will produce a Human. These Humans have been tested and, while none appear anomalous, it has been noted ~95% are unable to be found. However, the other 5% are copies of pre-existing Humans. In some cases, these subjects are copies of a deceased person. Copier seems to lack any bias in what it creates. In some instances, however, there are copies of living Humans, who are living normal lives. Foundation members posing as police officers have found a lack of any distinct anomalous changes in subjects found in both society, and from SCP-1111D after questioning. However, in few instances, the copy will come after the original is dead, with no knowledge of their death, or the last few days. In some cases, their bodies have disappeared, as if they're being 'replaced'. In this case, Class-B and Class-H amnestics are applied to these subjects, and are to be reintroduced into their lives, unharmed. SCP members monitor for any news of their actual body being found, in which case, the body will be collected, studied, and cremated once research has finished on this body. In extreme cases, historical figures have been reproduced by the machine. Unfortunately, due to tech shock, among other things, these figures are incapable of being reintegrated into general society. The machine will, when picking historical figures, tends to pick the age their most famous actions had occurred. This hasn't stopped the machine from making elderly and children, though it favors those in the 20-50 age range. All created can take care of themselves, and know basic manners from what culture the machine is believed to pick. For example, all can eat, breathe etc. but all do more complicated things, such as using the toilet, as opposed to open public deification whenever the moment desires. However, some, like Bulgarian subjects for example, will instead exhibit nodding meaning 'no', while shaking of the head meaning 'yes'. It is currently unknown if it is sentient, possibly even sapient, though current theory stands the item was simply created and programmed with such features upon its creation. It is unknown where the materials used to create the Humans come from. The other 95% of SCP-1111D-1s lack any shared DNA of any living, missing, or deceased person. These subjects, however, are often violent, and seem to have a 'simplified' brain. Those which have been introduced into society have a much higher crime rate. To prevent their general introduction into the public sphere causing a disruption, the SCP foundation has made them 'D-Class'. Because of the rate of production, as well as the generally violent disposition, SCP-1111D has the potential for a mass starvation event, and a further IK-Class Collapse of Global Civilization Scenario. Because of this, the object must be stored underground. As it stands, disabling the device is impossible, since its activation. Repeating the original steps which turned on the device haven't worked. Engineers have found that, while it appears the button on the machine is broken, in a non-anomalous way, attempts to repair have proven futile. Because the subjects created by SCP-1111D aren't anomalous, with perhaps the exception of their abnormal behavior (former project lead, Dr. Haley, suggested the lack of memories or growing up leads to a lack of a stable decisions, meaning their behavior isn't anomalous. The children tend to lack such issues, though it may still occur.) the ethics council of the SCP foundation has protested the usage of any SCP-1111D-1s as a supplement or replacement for D-Class personnel. While this motion was, initially, ignored by the O5 council, O5-[R] modified the motion. Since, any copies of real Humans, recently deceased whether the body was found or not, is to be placed back into society, with amnestics and cover stories to be applied as needed. As it stands, however, the O5 and Ethics committee have since realized: the machine produces ~2880 Humans a day on its old rate. While it appears the anomaly has slowed to a mere thousand, SCP-1111D has, recently, increased production once more, and its unknown if this rampancy in production is normal, if the slowdown was normal, or if the anomaly is operating under its maximum speed, and may possibly escalate to proportions the foundation, and possibly Earth, cannot handle. Should this object be lost by the foundation, or moved, it's possible the Human population will be flooded with new creations. The research staff is looking for a solution to this issue, and a way to shut the anomaly down until D-class personnel are needed. Until then, researchers are instructed to make superfluous tests whenever possible to thin the numbers, even if the answer is already know. However, these tests cannot be done fast enough. Killing of SCP-1111D-1s upon creation has been proposed, but living copies may get caught and simply cannot be tested quickly enough to allow such fast thinning, so the motion is currently denied. However, this motion has had its pending status reactivated twice in the past decade. Addendum 1: [REDACTED] "So, Haley, you're saying it's because they...had no childhood?" Dr. Haley: "That's correct." "Like...like Bladerunner?" "Exactly. They have no values, no basis, no compass." "Interesting." "The children grow fine, hell, we've had some get adopted by researchers. They've grown up to be normal." "Isn't your two children--" "It was a research project at first. Ingram and Ellis came from the machine, but since...I can't give them up. Got them at 5 and 7, but now, Ingram just got into Harvard, Ellis might get that tennis scholarship..." Haley gave a small sigh, a smile creeped on his face "they haven't given me any trouble, they're like any other child. You could pick them out from a crowd, and you'd be none the wiser. They're like--no, they *are* my kids now, they're my family. I looked after them when I just joined the foundation, now I'm..." Haley takes a heavy breath "I'm head researcher on 1111D. I don't care if they're anomalies, they're...my...little...you get the point." REDACTED chuckles, taking a sip of Tea. "Lucky for you, we have no reason to believe SCP-1111D creations are anomalous." "Yeah..." Haley sighed. "Sure am. Sure am..." Addendum 2: Dr. Haley "So we're just assuming they're all evil then, huh?" Dr. Bright "Look, I don't like it any more than you. But they're statistically higher, and--" "So we're just going to let them become cannon fodder?" "Better them than us. Besides, D-Class provide valuable intel." "How does that--" "Look, I hate it as much as you, but the amount it creates a day? Earth doesn't have the food production necessary. Most of them are violent, and the good--well, the 'good' ones, we send back out, not really sure how exact a copy they are, but our intel has served us--they appear to be perfect copies, and haven't found issues yet." Dr. Haley ended his questioning. Haley was placed on a different project two months later, after a formal request.
I really do like how SCP Documents don't refer to D-Class as "He, She, Him, Her" They are "It" due to their role and eventual termination. Also... 15 counts of GBH and 2 counts of murder, yet they have NO discernible mental abnormalities? Really? xD
Discernible mental abnormalities, as in, legit mental conditions, not a short temper and homicidal attitude. Thinking murder is ok is a moral issue, thinking that your bed is on fire while you are shivering (when its just a normal bed) is a mental issue.

2:29 “Stereoscopic images viewed through the item appear three dimensional” is perhaps the funniest sentence I’ve ever heard in this context. I love that there is no distinction made between the normal functioning of 3D glasses and the horrifying anomalous properties of the item.
3D glasses may be cool and somewhat fashionable, and 4D glasses might be intellectual, futuristic, and kept strictly confidential by the government. But everyone knows that 2D glasses are where its at. They show everything how it is.
Glasses are mostly just a tool to better an optically challenged person see better. Eyes technically see everything in 2D, our brain is just able to PERCIEVE it at 3D.
If we're not using regular commercial glasses as the mentioned "2D" glasses, then 2D Glasses would be plastic and cardboard, ironically removing their purpose as glasses. If you ARE talking about regular glasses as 2D glasses, then you're simply adding on an unnecessary adjective to the word "Glasses".
What if a D-CLASS wrote "hello" on paper and just left it on the floor or taped it to a wall for the entities see? What if a D-CLASS takes off the glasses BEFORE trying to interact with an entity?
I think the second option would result in death because you still interact with the SCP-178-E. Kinda like when they used those two women during which Subject 1 Had glasses and Subject 2 interacted without glasses based on instructions from Subject 1. For the first option i think that wouldn't bring up any response from entity because i believe they don't really know out launguage and kill simply because of the subjects trying to interact with them. To them it maybe would felt like something humans do without really noticing the creatures.
Nop they are not. The most likely candidate are the 3D glasses that are a masquerade for Timelord Technology that can be used to make extradimensional things visible.
they do it to all or most of the swering, he could even have said the doctors name for some reason. "look, there's one leaning right over your fucked head" for example
I liked how thorough the experiments were. It seems like most SCP's have so many possibilities with what you can test and learn but never actually follow through. I understand that the more you learn about something the less scary it is, which is was most SCP's are aiming for, but I usually walk away from them feeling like there could have been more tests, more experiments. This SCP's however, did not leave me unsatisfied.
This SCP is widespread through out the universe, making it common. However, the entity's ability is to reproduce many accounts similar to the original one, and make comments to all videos on TH-cam. If anyone view his video report it with copyright and copystrike because of him uploading other people videos in his videos.
I’m surprised that that one was so interesting It seemed like a shitty idea for a horror movie at first but now I gotta say it’s one of my favorite SCP’s.
I don't understand how this one isent classed as safe, from my understanding of how the object classes work, they are based on ease of containment. And I don't think these glasses will run away from their cell, the locked box test says: If you put it in a box and it stays in it, then it is safe. If you put it in a box and are not sure if its still in there then it is euclid. And if you put it in a box and it easily escaped it is classed as keter. Another example on the wiki is that if you have a button that destroys the entire universe if it is pressed, it should classified as safe, but if you have a cat that can randomly switch places with any other cat on earth it should be classified as keter.
I got an ad for old person money I don't remember enough of it to explain it but it's something something tax free income something something old people
This reminds me of that game I used to play as a child where I would call out invisible monsters stating I know they are there, and would angrily stare at nothing until they went away. I'm not sure if any monsters were actually ever there, but I like to think it worked and that's the reason I'm still alive.
マイケル-TheDarkSwordsman yes that’s true, we exist in 3 space and 1 temporal dimension. I’m no expert but I heard that there can be other space dimensions too
@@tendaiball5598 Sort of, although they haven't really been able to demonstrate that time is a separate dimension and not linked with space. Current theory is that if the extra spacial dimensions exist, there would be 11 of them and they would range from sub-sub-subatomic up to maybe a centimeter that's been coiled around itself so tightly that it is roughly the same size.
The thing that freaks me out about this SCP is the potential for accidentally aggravating the entities. It’s implied that these things are pretty much everywhere, and it’s clear that you don’t need to be wearing the glasses in order to aggravate them. Even throwing a tennis ball through one was enough to make it kill someone. What if you were hanging out, seemingly alone in your yard, throwing a ball around, and you toss it through an entity by mistake? What if you decide to start talking to yourself when you’re bored and think you’re alone in your room and one of these things thinks you’re trying to talk to it? They clearly can’t tell a person who can’t see them apart from one who can, since they don’t freak out immediately when someone puts on the glasses or reacts to their presence. How many people do these things kill every year who had absolutely no idea what was going on?
Cameron McAllister Oh, that’s a good point actually. The first time I watched this I just assumed he missed the entity because he only had a rough estimate of where it was.
I like this SCP a lot. Even though I've heard it a few times, somehow the experiments still keep me on the edge of my seat. You can just imagine these horrible gouges being rent into your body over and over again when they describe the wounds clinically. One of my favorites.
Better idea: send in a D-boy, let the shadow people kill him, then execute 069 just outside the testing chamber. It should gain all of the D-class’s memories and could help explain things
Notice how the entities were watching the monitor to make sure no one could see them, it apears to me they dont want humans knowing of their existance!

One of my favorite things about this SCP is the consistent pattern of "[list of horrible crimes]" followed by "no discernible mental abnormalities."

@@halcionkoenig243 It's the impact that kills you. Unless you're falling real fast for a while and it gives you a heart attack or something.

I like to think that people redacting everything from names to dates is just an easy way to avoid thinking of fake names or having to comb through time for historical accuracy and honestly I'm all for it
Plus it would be more realistic considering they dont want their identities figured out incase of a data breach so its creative
Uhhh, no, that's TOTALLY not the reason *sweats nervously*
To an extent. Sometimes you read an scp that is full black bars
Or agents who are disguised and hiding in plain sight
And scenarios like that have happened before, SCP-2137 did exactly that just to prove a point that the foundation can never and will never contain him.

I believe they're just animals, anyways.
@@Yeeren Yeah, but it's The Foundation. They can't do that.
I would have liked to see a test where one person wore the glasses and another walked round until they happened to collide with an entity, see if it has any effect on people who are unaware of its existence and haven't been told about it.
definitely not since the agent shot at it and nothing happened to him
Incanta Clones what do you think they are and why they can’t be harm
I would say demonic entities, as they tend to be unable to physically interacted with until a entity wishes to be able to physically capable of interacting, further three scratches is usually associated with demonic attacks.
@@incantaclones5286 but the glasses was not on
Well if the person is randomly walking without knowledge of the entity around and wasn't instructed, they'd phase through it because they have no reason to even believe it's existence. Now, I wonder if someone wears them, takes them off, and then guesses to try to interact with an entity based on it's last known location. That might be interesting.

Had to double take to realize the foundation used a 19 year old kid in this experiment. She and those other D class got flayed alive.
All D Class personnel at the time of this SCP's discovery were death row inmates for heinous crimes. She was set to be killed anyways at the end of 30 days after coming into Foundation custody. At the very least these deaths, while gruesome, are quick compared to most violent SCPs.
For Science!
Dracorexion Ouranos the file did not state her crimes however, unlike the rest. Plus, there have been cases of innocent people being put on death row.
I feel like the cardboard glasses would be ruined by all that blood.
That is properly the biggest mystery on it.

@@user-tr2dh4xx6u agreed
Love this SCP. I figured out how it works after watching Carl Sagan explain how different dimensions work. It's obvious these glasses reveal fourth or perhaps even higher dimensional beings by rendering them in three dimensions. While they are now visible in three dimensions, they move the same as they would in four (or higher), so they simply appear docile and slow to three dimensional onlookers. The glasses have limits it seems, so when the entities attack it cannot track their movements as they fade back into another dimension. The entities are obviously frightened by a lower dimensional being being able to perceive them, so they just kill them out of fear.
thats a really interesting explanation.
Barrel Of Bleach Yeah, that seems the most likely explanation to me at least haha.

D-class: gets cut to [explicite]
Scientists: Write that down! Write that down!
Since they started recording in 1984, over 300,000 Americans have gone missing and are unaccounted for. One country with a population of 300 million. Just imagine every nations missing persons, and D class becomes understandable.
I feel like the SCP universe just has a full infinite universe of endless D-class prisoners to test on because the amount of dead D-class should’ve been over half the human population by now
"SCP-1111D
Infinite D-Class Producer
Object Class: Thaumiel. Secondary Class: Keter. ( [R] is redacted)
Special Containment Procedures: 1111D is to be kept deep in Site [REDACTED] at approximately [REDACTED] thousand feet underground.
See your owner's manual.'
At approximately every 30 seconds (Time can vary from 10 seconds, to up to 5 minutes), the machine will close, emit a noise at ~100 decibels, and will produce a Human.
Addendum 1:
[REDACTED] "So, Haley, you're saying it's because they...had no childhood?"
Dr. Haley: "That's correct."
"Like...like Bladerunner?"
"Exactly. They have no values, no basis, no compass."
"Interesting."
"The children grow fine, hell, we've had some get adopted by researchers. They've grown up to be normal."
"Isn't your two children--"
"It was a research project at first. I don't care if they're anomalies, they're...my...little...you get the point."
REDACTED chuckles, taking a sip of Tea. "Lucky for you, we have no reason to believe SCP-1111D creations are anomalous."
"Yeah..." Haley sighed. "Sure am. Sure am..."
Addendum 2:
Dr. Haley "So we're just assuming they're all evil then, huh?"
Dr. Bright "Look, I don't like it any more than you. But they're statistically higher, and--"
"So we're just going to let them become cannon fodder?"
"Better them than us. Besides, D-Class provide valuable intel."
"How does that--"
"Look, I hate it as much as you, but the amount it creates a day? Earth doesn't have the food production necessary. Most of them are violent, and the good--well, the 'good' ones, we send back out, not really sure how exact a copy they are, but our intel has served us--they appear to be perfect copies, and haven't found issues yet."
Dr. Haley ended his questioning. Haley was placed on a different project two months later, after a formal request.

Discernible mental abnormalities, as in, legit mental conditions, not a short temper and homicidal attitude. Thinking murder is ok is a moral issue, thinking that your bed is on fire while you are shivering (when its just a normal bed) is a mental issue.

3D glasses may be cool and somewhat fashionable, and 4D glasses might be intellectual, futuristic, and kept strictly confidential by the government.
But everyone knows that 2D glasses are where its at.
They show everything how it is.
We call those "eyes".
Oh huh.
I thought we just called them "glasses"
Glasses are mostly just a tool to better an optically challenged person see better.
Eyes technically see everything in 2D, our brain is just able to PERCIEVE it at 3D.
Yeah, but the jokes about 2D glasses.
Sorry for the confusion.
Modifying that, what if the d class placed messages around the test chamber before wearing 178, and seeing what happens

It's Euclid because the creatures still not understood and it can still kill when the glasses removed
I do know that no matter how easy something is to contain, if it can end life as we know it it's a keter.

マイケル-TheDarkSwordsman yes that’s true, we exist in 3 space and 1 temporal dimension. I’m no expert but I heard that there can be other space dimensions too
Mabye the gas mask scp is a thing like this one but more powerful so it takes you to the entire dimension instead of showing you part of it
@@tendaiball5598 Sort of, although they haven't really been able to demonstrate that time is a separate dimension and not linked with space. Current theory is that if the extra spacial dimensions exist, there would be 11 of them and they would range from sub-sub-subatomic up to maybe a centimeter that's been coiled around itself so tightly that it is roughly the same size.
I think I’m going to call this video
“Dr... with dr... and dr... assisting, date... 19...
Love that the agent who first wore the specs saw the entities and just immediately noped the glasses off again without trying to interact with them
The thing that freaks me out about this SCP is the potential for accidentally aggravating the entities.
It's pretty explicitly stated that if you don't know about the SCP's nature, you're good.
Cameron McAllister Oh, I must have missed that. Where does it say that?
When the guard shoots at where he assumes the skip to be, instead shooting the D class. Despite "Interacting" with the skip, he is not attacked.
Cameron McAllister Oh, that’s a good point actually. The first time I watched this I just assumed he missed the entity because he only had a rough estimate of where it was.
I mean, if talking to it was enough stimulus to provoke an assault, shooting anywhere near it would surely be so too.
Here’s a game: take a shot every time he says “Three sharp objects”.
I like this SCP a lot. Even though I've heard it a few times, somehow the experiments still keep me on the edge of my seat. You can just imagine these horrible gouges being rent into your body over and over again when they describe the wounds clinically. One of my favorites.
