Popping sorghum grain dry, without oil, on the stovetop without using a popcorn popper.
You're right, for anyone lucky enough to have an Indian Market or Grocery Store nearby, that certainly is an option. I believe in India the Sorghum is called Jowar, and yes, it is a very common food there.
We now sell a Hot Air Popper that will pop the Sorghum very quickly and easily so you don't have to bother with a pot on the stove (video to come). This way you can make your own Popped Sorghum at home. There's nothing like freshly popped Sorghum! Yum!
have you tried this with a copper pot?
Hi there! We haven't tried popping Sorghum in a copper pot, but it should work very well, considering copper is an excellent conductor of heat.

why bother? You can buy them cheaply in Indian grocery stores...yes, the air popped ones...they are commonly eaten by Indians (the real ones, those from India)
