RE: Marketing. Get a big metal A-frame sign at the front of the street while you're working. At least a couple people will stop, ask a couple questions and grab a business card. Some book straight away. The best is when you're almost done the detail and you can show them the work you did. When I talk to people in person I get a lot of new business. Whereas if I go door to door with flyers it tends to be a complete waste of time. If you have a nice A-frame sign tho, you'll easily get 30% more business :)
Loved how in depth you guys went with this. I've been detailing at high end shops for 4 years and been wanting to start my own and I am finally making the move to start. With my knowledge I still learned a TON from this video. Going to dive into google my business 100%!
Crazy! I run Rinsed Out LLC out here in NC and we are in a very similar spot! 11 employees, 3 dealers, along with mobile and it’s very interesting. Very aggressive with marketing and staying motivated definitely get you were you need to be!
My shop pulls in 50k every 2 weeks that’s a bare minimum. I own a professional mechanic shop in a small town with 4 employees. Good for you. For detailing alone that is impressive! Good job!
TH-cam is really a God sent blessing to all of us people. Imagine those old people having very less knowledge about stuffs and they see this now, for sure they would wish they were young again to do stuffs when can be learned through youtube shared videos. Thank you youtube♥️
Awesome video. Love car detailing I’ve learned a lot from TH-cam as well. I spend 3 hours just detailing my truck every other weekend. I’m interested in going mobile as well just find it hard for people to pay even 100+ in Chicago. It’s a very small percentage of ppl that’ll pay or care for their cars like that here in the Midwest
This dude definitely is going places. Much respect for him. My only critique is I kind of cringed at 18:47 when the person used a rag on dirt instead of power washing it off first. Im big into detailing my own vehicles so I know that doing that can cause swirls in the paint. Other than that I liked everything else.
Chances are most of the clients that request mobile detailing lease their vehicles. Usually have disposable income. If they’re really worried about their own ride they do it their self.
Yeah most of these mobile detailer don't really care about detail or doing things the right way, just turning a profit. It takes me an average of 4 hours to do a car by myself. I don't make much, and I can only do 1 car a day, but I do it right.
Love that people are sharing with everyone, so many people hold all this information close to their chest it makes it very hard to even break into business. One note, his second helping on that car needs to remove the chain around his wrist while working on someone's car.
This is one of the best channels on youtube, Instead of just discussing random pie in the sky 100k/yr "side hustles" you actually look at the real businesses and learn what they're doing.

Walker. Keep killing it, Alan. You're an inspiration to us all.

This is an awesome hustle. Tip: If you have not branched out to this: Try to do detailing for 18 wheelers within the Transportation/Trucking Industry. I have a company with over 200 trucks and we pay about $200-$300 USD to have our trucks detailed about 2-3 times a month depending on how fast our drivers switch trucks.
We really appreciate you stopping by the channel and leaving such great feedback today Julius. @@detailpreneurpodcast Fantastic job! It certainly is a privilege and you’re making the most of it. Your ability to learn and grow so fast is admirable. Glad I found this video, very inspiring!
The thing i hated about doing mobile detailing was the money I left on the table. I’m in DFW so there’s a lot of traffic. The time it takes to setup/breakdown, traffic and time it takes to go to every location I left around 450 a day on the table vs doing it out of my garage. I can tell clients to drop off their vehicles the night before or early morning and then start on them around 6am. No extra money on a shop since I’m doing it from home. No money on gas, vehicles or extra insurance. I will be getting a shop down the line as we grow. When it comes to tools get you a BLO AIR-S, Mytee extractor, McCulloch steamer, Koch Chemie chemicals and make sure you get microfiber wash. This guy is a genius in marketing. Gonna start taking his route
We appreciate the feedback Rezzo. These are some great ideas. Every business goes through a phase of learning and growing but as long as you keep going everything will work itself out. How long have you been in the detailing business?
@@rezzo_6fn659 Yeah it does add up compared to the house set up. You'll just have different clients for each. Make sure to check the margins on shop ownership. This dude in the video was very smart to simply lease a space where his guys can operate maybe do something like that when you're ready.

@@detailpreneurpodcast If you are mobile having a van/trailer with generator and water tank it’s a must. I never heard of any of your products, I saw your colleague scrubbing the lower side of the car with a dirty mitt and than…he was on the roof…no two bucket wash, mitt rinse…or multiple mitts…so safe wash must be a new concept. I saw you cleaning the glass on the outside without checking for any streaks…leaving the window down to clean the top as well…so many things..Don’t take it as an offence, I’m actually happy for your success but i highly recommend you going for some trainings and get certified. TH-cam is a great source of information but you can’t get everything from TH-cam. All the best man!
@Detail Forward he made his company himself and yet its because of his well off family? He may have had a good example from his family (mentioning his father is an entrepreneur), but he seems to have done this all himself. You can come from a rich family and still be self made. It seems he has earned and worked for everything his has achieved. Don't knock him on his success
@Detail Forward you totally could lol Assuming you live at home (which most people do in their early 20s and late teens), a hard working individual could easily save up the money to do it. He even said it himself, it only costs about $500 to get going. It's just about being smart with how you spend your money from other (probably part time jobs). Most young people who work part time spend all of their money whereas a financially smarter person would probably save most of it. It's pretty simple. Starting a business at 18 or 22 has nothing to do with being fed by the silver spoon.
And even if his parents helped out a bit with his initial investment, it's not that big of a deal. He just worked hard to get where he is. It's not like his dad started and ran the business for him. Based on what i see, this was all his own work
Thxxxx to the TH-cam algorithm hahahaha. Greeting from Chile mate... Love this video, for sure I'm going to see more content of you. And for the business man, damn! I just hope you keep growing and growing... We need more motivated, genuine and high standard people.
Thanks for sharing the video. As a fellow detailer and detailer who watches videos about detailing daily I was entertained ,but figured id give my 2 cents about a few factors going on here with this supposed 600k a year business... Factor1: You don't even offer your own power and water from a tank ? factor2: Doesn't it become a hassle continuously pull out and pack up your whole setup out of these soccer mom mini vans (not to mention it is messy to have all these things scattered in someone's driveway. Not that it matter just an opinion) factor3: i understand everyone budgets and allocates capital differently but your turning 600k a year and you don't have the room in the budget to outfit proper vans? atleast for your guys sake?? maybe wrap them all the same? outfit them with generator, hose reels, compressors ? you might as well invest in a new set of vans instead of paying the irs 60-100k in taxes every year maybe chop that number in half by re investing in proper equipment just some thoughts from coming from a small 1-2 man detailing op nowhere near your scale.
Same thinking here. I’m mobile in So Cal with a 2014 Promaster 1500 Low Roof, carry everything all the time and everything is on locking & self retracting hose reels. It probably saves me an hour per detail. I make more having the van in time saved than it ever cost me to purchase. What I’m wondering is how does he have such an intense amount of calls coming in? He doesn’t even have any commercial equipment and it’s hard to believe he genuinely keeps up at least 40K a month. But what do I know? I could just be hating. I’m just kind of unconvinced. He’s got a nice wash bay! Hope he proves me wrong in 5 years.
Hey there. Wanted to help answer some questions! We never thought we would get this big so fast. We started with the mini vans and it has been working great for us! People love us and how we operate. We are going to stick with what’s working for us and there’s no way we are changing our formula unless we think of something better. Crazy to see what was able to come of this since I hired my first employee just 6 months time ago. We love what we do and strive for perfection however spending $60k on a rig isn’t something anyone needs to do starting out. Wish you and your partner all the best and hope some of my tips were helpful!
@@Ichabod_Jericho best of luck to you my friend! There’s more than enough cars to go around. Lifetime learner is what I strive for. Learning new things each day! One day we might get those rigs but for now we are going to stick with what’s been working for us!
If you're making money through a business, you should definitely set up a business as a separate entity and file taxes Capovibn. How long have you been in business?

How's it going so far?
Just subscribed today and I have to say, this is a great channel. This video in particular is amazing. A very humble guy who loves his job.
Crazy! I run Rinsed Out LLC out here in NC and we are in a very similar spot! 11 employees, 3 dealers, along with mobile and it’s very interesting. Very aggressive with marketing and staying motivated definitely get you were you need to be!
How much are u making a month?
That’s crazy, looked y’all up and you’re based in my city
How much do you pay your guys and what’s the charge per detail at a dealership and how many do you do a day?
My shop pulls in 50k every 2 weeks that’s a bare minimum. I own a professional mechanic shop in a small town with 4 employees.
Good for you. For detailing alone that is impressive! Good job!
How difficult is it for you to get parts right now? I sell parts at a dealership and it is a nightmare trying to source parts for customers and shops.
TH-cam is really a God sent blessing to all of us people. Imagine those old people having very less knowledge about stuffs and they see this now, for sure they would wish they were young again to do stuffs when can be learned through youtube shared videos. Thank you youtube♥️
TH-cam can be a good place to learn new things Ron. What's one of the most memorable things you've learned on youtube?
Awesome video. Love car detailing I’ve learned a lot from TH-cam as well. I spend 3 hours just detailing my truck every other weekend. I’m interested in going mobile as well just find it hard for people to pay even 100+ in Chicago. It’s a very small percentage of ppl that’ll pay or care for their cars like that here in the Midwest
Definitely not true.just google detailers near you and ask them for their prices or check their sites and go from there
How’s the market there?
Same here, even people with luxury cars are not willing to pay so much for detailing theirs. Cheap car wash shops are the norm here.
This dude definitely is going places. Much respect for him. My only critique is I kind of cringed at 18:47 when the person used a rag on dirt instead of power washing it off first. Im big into detailing my own vehicles so I know that doing that can cause swirls in the paint. Other than that I liked everything else.
Oh yeah, that’s a big error there. I’m not sure if it was for the camera to get a “dirt being wiped away shot”, but that wouldn’t happen on my car.
Do not think it was dirt. Very clean all around but just that spot? Nah
@@mrs.h4484 Im sorry if you don’t think that was dirt but it was in fact dirt😂 its clearly visible

@@UpFlip only a couple of months. Still learning and still growing

@@CaBdosdos but that’s more money spent compared to what I can have at the house. Two more guys, another vehicle, insurance and gas. It adds up.
@@rezzo_6fn659 Yeah it does add up compared to the house set up. You'll just have different clients for each. Make sure to check the margins on shop ownership. This dude in the video was very smart to simply lease a space where his guys can operate maybe do something like that when you're ready.

@Detail Forward you totally could lol
Assuming you live at home (which most people do in their early 20s and late teens), a hard working individual could easily save up the money to do it.
Based on what i see, this was all his own work
the content of this video is really great , the interviewer question is really on point, detailed and the owner is really humble and informative

Not that it matter just an opinion)
factor3: i understand everyone budgets and allocates capital differently but your turning 600k a year and you don't have the room in the budget to outfit proper vans? atleast for your guys sake?? maybe wrap them all the same? outfit them with generator, hose reels, compressors ?
you might as well invest in a new set of vans instead of paying the irs 60-100k in taxes every year maybe chop that number in half by re investing in proper equipment
just some thoughts from coming from a small 1-2 man detailing op nowhere near your scale.
