the circle around the islands was the war zone, meaning any ship from any country may become a target, similar to the Germans sinking ships near Britain in both world wars. argentine ships were still enemies and ripe for attack inside and outside the circle. on top of that, the survivors of the ship admitted they were heading inside the circle to attack British ships. but a fun fact for most (maybe not Americans) that ship was the last survivor from japans attack on pearl harbour.....sorry about that.
Oh yes, I try to do Sabaton songs every Friday and Saturday but I have been currently busy :/ lots of work due to holidays but I'm coming back to videos on Monday!
@Clouded_Reactions great, looking forward to it. Yes I know what you mean about lot of extra work, not related to holidays but... there has been a bit of trouble here forcing us to do so much overtime HR and safety guys started questioning things... and we all love that kind of stuff right (heh)
Just to be clear, the British task force sent to the Falklands had 127 ships in it, but not all of them were warships. There were 43 ships of the Royal Navy, mostly the Aircraft Carriers, destroyers, frigates, and submarines...those were the "warships." Then there were 22 Royal Fleet Auxiliary ships, which had the task of supporting the task force itself or carrying the Royal Marines and their equipment, and finally there were 62 merchant ships, which were mostly there to supply British forces ashore and at sea. As for civilians killed, reportedly the number was only 3...they are said to have been accidentally killed by British artillery fire. Also, the latest referendum on whether the people of the Falklands want to be British or Argentinian, in 2013 they voted 99.8% in favor of remaining a British Overseas Territory. 👍😁
on your comment about Argentina having a few more troops stationed there. that wouldn't have changed anything. they were conscripts vs a fully trained professional volunteer army, the only equivalent Argentina had was on the border with Chile, who they also had bad relations with and were worried would take advantage so placed their regular troops on that border. Chile also being the only south American country that backed Britain in this war, even letting British planes use their airports to refuel.
The geopolitics falklands war video is also really good actually much better then sabaton history video The general belgrano ship was a fair target it was a military ship it showed hostile behaviour so the british sank it and the captain of the ship even said it was a fair target as he had orders to ambush the british fleet and sink one of the carriers in war you are gonna get casualties you are gonna fight back and this war was not about Britain taking the islands back for the sole purpose of it's imperial history but rather for the people living there they were british people after the invasion they were treated horribly by the Argentinean troops And Argentina had no claim the british forced the spanish out that was common these empires fought all the time it wasn't seen as wrong and even so they remained under british rule for the next 100+ years Also after the war they asked the people who do you want to be under and only 3 people voted for Argentina and before the war Britain tried to give up the falklands to Argentina a few times because it was expensive to have them but it was blocked because falkland people protested to remsin under british rule
I think you have less views on history vids just because most of us already saw it. ^^ I watch it again, but always something that needs to be refreshed.
That's true lol I have to keep that in mind. Plus, most people don't like to sit through 20+ minute videos, that truly makes me appreciate those that actually do watch them ❤️
@@FemaleSniper86 I really do appreciate you, I think you're my number one commenter xD busy? Same, holidays are coming up and work is hectic to say the least
@@Clouded_Reactions Yeah my work is piling up, and my second job as a moderator is... well... people can be difficult sometimes. And that is on top of my regular job, and no timetable, so... 24/7. I just finished designing my upcoming tattoo, though. So... I have that to look forward to. A Christmas gift for myself. I hope you are doing alright. :)

I have to point out that the British claim on the island go back to the 1600s long before Argentina ever existed.
Ahh, is that so? Very interesting...

The general belgrano ship was a fair target it was a military ship it showed hostile behaviour so the british sank it and the captain of the ship even said it was a fair target as he had orders to ambush the british fleet and sink one of the carriers in war you are gonna get casualties you are gonna fight back and this war was not about Britain taking the islands back for the sole purpose of it's imperial history but rather for the people living there they were british people after the invasion they were treated horribly by the Argentinean troops
And Argentina had no claim the british forced the spanish out that was common these empires fought all the time it wasn't seen as wrong and even so they remained under british rule for the next 100+ years
Also after the war they asked the people who do you want to be under and only 3 people voted for Argentina and before the war Britain tried to give up the falklands to Argentina a few times because it was expensive to have them but it was blocked because falkland people protested to remsin under british rule
