Religion has served its purpose of uniting people in the past. But... It is also a "great" divider. Nothing has created so much pain and suffering as religion has. Or rather, because it is USED as a symbol in time of war, it takes the blame for wars that in reality is about power and not religion. But I do personally believe in the "god" called Evolution, and Mother Earth is its judge. P.S. I think the song is more like a hit towards the power of religion, and that we should turn our eyes to science instead. Not to view science as a "god" or scientists for that matter, but that we can't pray to god and hope for the better, we need to act to make things better. Btw... Sweden has a 46-85% population claiming they are atheists. We are the top country in the world of least religious people. ^^

Well to be fair... the Ringwraiths also ride black horses.... When they are chasing after Frodo in the beginning.... when - in the movie - Arwen carries him on a horse.... Man....... I wish they hadn't used Arwen there, it makes no sense... if she can be that bad-ass, why is she not there to help later= Nah, she is withering away in sorrow in her room...... while Elrond plans to depart Middle Earth... MEH...... But I get it.... one less character to introduce to the story... I like this song ^^ It is a proper story song!

The problem with Sabaton is that we are so used to there being a story behind the song that we forget that their early work wasn't thought through and they hadn't found their groove as a "history band" This is definitely one of those early songs where the music came first and the lyrics were almost improvised. Have you done their track "Metal Machine"? That one comes with a drinking game a drink for every quote from metal lyrics you recognize If you drink alcohol it would lethal LOL

And to answer your questions, the opening part starts with a timpani roll, and those plucking sounds are, well - plucking on stringed instruments. That's called pizzicato. The sound I think you were asking about though is I believe exactly what you said - a xylophone. That's my guess anyway. And regarding the language, no Japanese is nothing like English or any of the other languages that came from latin. They are mixing English in with the Japanese. The guitarist in the beginning are Jona Tee, he plays most of the instruments in Eriks covers. He also mix, master and are the producer. Jona, Erik and Dave Dalone (guitarsolo) was together in the band HEAT. Jona and Erik was also together in New Horizon until recent when Erik stepped down and Nils Molin, vocalist in Dynazty and Amaranthe replaced him. 😀🇸🇪 Johnny Cash’s Song God’s gonna cut you down are nothing like the original, maybe check that one next? 😀

well... as this is based on a real case (sorry, if it sounds not hard enough for the horrors that are included... It's not my mothers tongue), maybe you might react ro an old song of Rammstein. it's simply called Rammstein and is about the Ramstein tragedy in 1988 edit: and not to forget "Mein Teil" that also is about a case of consentual cannibalism in Germany. (I would suggest a live version)
