Excellent very helpful. Just installed mine today on '22 CRV. The video talks about adjusting the camera to get the green line in "live" view at the top of the hood. Was worried I did something wrong but can see from your view that I have the same view as you. Reassuring.

The parking RADAR does not sense Human motion, what Parking mode is most likely to catch an incident where someone walks up to the Car and scratches it or vandalizes ?

They are invaluable with the information you present to us and also, have undoubtedly informed my decision in purchasing the dual camera option in addition to the radar unit. I have a couple questions for you. Since you have reviewed this unit, has it become your main unit in your daily drive? I am asking because I saw a review on Amazon where a user mentioned that the dash-cam was brilliant but after a year, it fails to go into park mode. I am enquiring from you if you have encountered any such issue. Thanks.
I am still using this dashcam in my car with the external battery pack for parking mode. No issue with the dashcam going into parking mode. I did run into couple of times where the dashcam seem to have overheated (in the very hot Atlanta heat), and the dashcam would reboot on its own while I was driving.
What micro sd do you use did you buy the thinkware 128gb or any suggestion for parking mode use need more than 32gb

Have you gotten the surveillance mode to work? I've contacted Thinkware and they are either giving false information or the person I spoke to has no idea what they're on about. Mine just keeps saying the connection is being delayed

Nice channel boss, I just bought 23 ody and looking for install BlackVue or what you have but I'm afraid to pull out A-Piller, I watched your other videos where you pulled 8mm bolt but I'm curious to see if you help me out, do you do installation if I bring cam? 😀 I don't mind to pay you. I just do t know how to wire if you pull up A-piller.
At 6:05 the license plate was illegible due to glare. Much clearer in the day time. Based on a comparison I saw, Black Vue's 900 model would have been able to see that plate, but the trade off is that it is not as clear as the U1000 in the day time.

If I have the Thinkware external battery, do I still need to set the voltage to 12v to cut off? Or can I disable the voltage meter in the app altogether? Or is that just for when it’s connected hardwired using the cars battery?
If you using a battery pack, you don't need to set the battery cutoff. The battery pack will shut off the output once it gets to a low level.
Missing info for how long is recording in TIME LAPSE MODE ? 1, 2 ,3, 5 FRAMES per sec.

mine doesn't connect to my hotspot...only wifi sometimes the hotspot works and then it won't connect. I'm trying to have the hotspot when i leave the house. any suggestions? i just bought it and had it installed.

If the U1000 comes with motion detection in parking mode, then what is the optional radar upgrade for? Also what is the filter for? If you need it why doesn't it just come on the lens already?
Here is the full install/review of the radar module. th-cam.com/video/jJRjh6oIkn8/w-d-xo.html. The CPL filter is to reduce glare from bright light. It's up to you if you want to install it.

Front camera is fixed, not adjustable. With the wide angle lens, just place it at the top of the windshield and it will have enough coverage of the front.

Hello, I'm considering to buy the camera.
At 6:05 I didn't see the Lexus' plate plate. Was it 30fps or 60fps?
It was recorded at 60fps, but keep in mind this review video is edited and rendered at 1920x1080 @ 30fps. Therefore the video clip you see is only at 30fps. Also the clip you are referencing to is nighttime recording, which in itself adds some additional noise with exposure increased for nighttime recording. At certain angles with the headlight shining at front license plate (which is reflective), it can also make it hard to read. So besides this video being downscaled, nighttime reading of license plate can sometimes be challenging.

When you are playing the videos on the smart phone is it connected to the phone cia the hot spot or wifi?
You connect your phone to the U1000's wifi connection - press the wifi button on the front camera first, then open the app and connect

This video is very informative thank you for your time and attention to detail. I bought both the front and rear U1000 set and decided to get the radar piece as well. If I going to do this im going to do it right, thanks to you I can have a broad range of ideas on a dash cam for both my Chevy Express and Toyota sienna pricey yes but worth it to protect both autos. I wanted to get a theft alert alarm system for both my autos but with this unit in place I will have 24/7 coverage on my investments. I sleep with my iPhone so I will always have a connection to both my auto. I have given you a thumbs up and subscribed too.

Do you remove the Dashcam each time you have to change microSD ? How do you do in your situation?
I haven't had to remove the memory card. But if you need to, you can slide the dashcam off it's windshield base to get better access to the memory card.
How do I go to videos that are almost a month old?

Can you turn of the speed on the dash cam. So it’s doesn’t record the speed?
Basically all dashcams with gps have that ability.
Is there any option to silent the voice in the dashcam? It is kind of annoying probablt when u start ur car and dashcam is talking hehe
You have to set the volume to 0 in the setup menu.
Can the rear camera be use as a inside cab view?
No. There are some dash cams that do.
If I’m within range of my home WiFi (and I am) can I see what’s going on while it’s in parking mode via my smartphone? Thank you to anyone who might know. I believe the q800 pro will it do this while in parking mode, but only while vehicle is on, or moving? I bet this one’s the same but if it worked this way I’d be all over getting this.
i am interested in this as well, but my concern is watching my car while i am at work. we have many homeless people who creep around and i need to watch my car. sounds like i need to be near this device in order for me to watch clips then?
@@sonjia619 You need a hotspot modem inside your vehicle for the dash cam to tap into. That is an additional expense. If I were you, upgrade your factory vehicle alarm to a 2-way paging vehicle alarm from Compustar or Viper
I bought the European u1000 ch2 , hardwired it with a mechanic friend of mine and it got really hot ! I did notice scratches on the main unit when I opened it ? So I sent it back to Amazon Germany and they refunded my money instantly... Any suggestions why it was heating up so much ? I may add that I spoke with Thinkware .co.UK and they said I should return it.
Should not get super hot. But the unit is warm to the touch. There is a lot of electronics packed into a small package. I am sure Thinkware has thoroughly tested the unit in all conditions. Hope your replacement unit works well. Cheers!

The amount of notifications being voiced by the dashcam is doing my head in. I'm starting to regret ordering one.
You can turn the sound off in the setings, so you don't have to hear all that annoying voice prompts.

@@lukewalker5111 I have the notifications turned on right now, because I am trying to get the remote cloud viewing working. I did get the hotspot working. Once I get everything working, I will no longer need the sound on.
Can we connect to the cam using live view? Let's say when my kid takes the car for a spin I could connect live remotely?

Do you HAVE to unclip it each time you want to remove the chip??
You don't have to if you can get to the SD card on the side and pop it out. Depends on where you installed the dashcam. But if you have parking mode enabled, you need to power it down first by holding the power button down before removing the SD card.

Viofo A129 Pro Duo has better video quality only. But the U1000 wins with it's better parking mode, ADAS features, Smart Camera Alerts, Cloud 2.0 Beta, etc.

You need an OBD2 power plug that plugs into the OBD2 plug that every vehicle 1996 and up has. Runs about $50. Otherwise Thinkware battery pack for over $200+. You can get a hardwire Kit for Thinkware and tap into your fuse panel. That would be cheapest option of the 3.

Thinkware1000 voice notifications when you start the vehicle is so annoying. Like it tells you how many times the motions sensor sensed something... like you walking to and from your car, when you closed the door and opened it, the number of times for each, then it tells you to connect to the Thinkware wifi network and that it will start recording. This alone makes me want to uninstall the camera.
Go in the setting and change the volume to 0. That will mute the voice.
Arrggghhh...... I was all ready to buy the U1000 and then saw how at power on it talks to you. Absolutely unnecessary! Is there anyway to turn off the voice when starting the vehicle? I email Thinkware about this but they have not replied.

Yes, you can set the Volume from default of 2 to 0 which turns off the voice prompt.

@@DamienMDA1 I have almost no need for Parking Mode, it is useful but not a necessity for me. I dislike turning on my car and having it or any of the electronics talk to me as they are generally telling me things I do not care to hear every time I start my car. I consider it just another noise in my life, if my car is damaged I can visually tell and then I will check, at my leisure, the parking mode.
Shame it speaks every damn time you startup with no way to disable. Blackvue has options on what noise if any you want to hear at startup. Went with Blackvue due to noises.

I just installed my 2 camera U1000 last weekend and have to say I am very disappointed with the Windows version of the software as it doesn't support 2 cameras (at the same time) viewing. They claim the IOS version does work. Also disappointed that this and other reviewers have never mentioned it. Today I found a much better viewer @ dashcamviewer.com/ The free version (demo) will show you how well it works with front and rear cameras but it will only play 2 files at a time. There are many other features included so it could be a great alternative! Too bad Thinkware built such a good camera but supplied garbage viewer software!
