I'm all about great useful features in any electronic device. And when it comes to a dash camera, high end or not, its basic features better include Wi-Fi connectivity to smartphone, built-in GPS, 170° view (for 6 lanes coverage), 1080p resolution, parking mode, and supercapacitor. ADAS, Lane Departure, Speed and Red Camera Alerts are just extra which is awesome as these features come in luxurious cars. Good review! Keep up the excellent and honest reviews coming! 🤝

Agree on the chatty notifications. It’s either on or off. No choices. I don’t want to hear the cam is starting and gps is connected, but I want to hear the card is successfully formatted.
There are two things holding me back from buying this product. The one main reason is that fact that it seems like I wouldn’t have the option to completely silence and or control the types of alerts the dash cam gives me and or how I receive the alerts. Secondly, as a result of the main argument. I’m now interested to see what Blackvue will release to compete with the U1000. I was set on getting Blackvue until I came across the U1000 but constant sound and chatty alerts is a dealbreaker. Could you inform Thinkware of way integrate a complete silence mode and or send alert to my phone via connected app or better yet and CarPlay/Android Auto app alerting system. Sounds complicated, perhaps, but still value of this feature in my opinion would be great.
You can completely disable the audio from the U1000, and still have its Cloud featured enabled to that notifications are sent to your phone. BlackVue already had the Cloud for years - this is Thinkware's reply to BlackVue actually.

Thank you Joan!
I like the camera. I'm surprised no one talked the app (TRASH). I won't buy another one.
Thanks for the feedback. The new Thinkware models(U3000, Q1000) have introduced a new version of the app to allow for an easier connection. Thinkware Dash Cam Link App if you're curious, we have a video here: th-cam.com/video/JczwkEqpNtE/w-d-xo.html
@@blackboxmycarCan I get trade in on the U1000?
We don't currently have a trade-in program unfortunately, but do consider reaching out to our support team to assess your specific situation at info@blackboxmycar.com
@@blackboxmycarI have tried that for months. I think I'll just give this one to someone I don't care for and try a different product.😡
The Thinkware U1000 that I just bought is junk. Horrible video recordings. Should have went with the Viofo.
My Thinkware U1000 records a 53 second clip following by an 8 second clip. There is missing footage in between those 2 recordings - in continuous mode. Any suggestions ?
Hi Peetee, this may have to do with your setup. Please contact us at info[at]blackboxmycar.com and our team will help!
