I got that with mine when I bought it many years ago so I would have recording from incidents when parked at the airport. I hope they come out with an LTE capable camera soon.
That was very helpful did not know you had to adjust radar module thought mine was not working. How do you get the cam alignments to move left to right ?
I am getting a lot of false positives with my U1000 (moving tree branches sets off motion detection, and closing passenger doors sets off impact detection). How should I tune the sensitivity settings? Would the addition of the radar module help with that? Will the radar module interfere with radar detectors such as the Escort Redline 360C?
Nice video. What if your suv has radar standard in the rear view mirror center area you mentioned? Would that interfere with one another? Also could I install a radar also in the rear cam?
Question for ya mate; what would happen in you had this all installed without your battery pack and just used the obd 2 cable? Would that reduce the amount of time that the camera will record or will it drain my car's battery? Edit: Or both?
you can set the battery protection mode that will cut off at 11.8V so that it does not drain your main battery. I had mine hardwired directly into fuse and had no issue draining the hybrid's small battery. but later on hooked battery pack for ease of mind. only thing you should keep in mind is when kids are sitting on the back sit they might kick the battery switch and turn off the camera, which happened couple times, or when washing the interior they get switched off accidentally.
Don't you want the main module to the right of the rear view mirror? As it is, the rearview mirror is blocking access to the SD card slot on the top right side of the main module.
If you're happened to be away fr the vehicle, will you not receive an alert/nofication of an impact occured? Also, can you please help me? ....While my dashcam is connected to a hotspot, on the app, when I pressed the middle "radar-like" icon, then a display of a map with a LIVE VIEW button, I pressed on LIVE VIEW, but keep getting 'fail connection'? The only way LIVE VIEW works for me is that I have to be on Wifi. Thank you.
OMG, tour Channel is so valuable to me since I just bought 2023 and my first thing is to Install Cam. Would you by chance have video to show how to get rear cam install? I'm trying to figure out how to fish wire through A piller and then side window to avoid Airbag .. any help greatly appreciated it.
i decided on running 2x U1000 dashcams, and will need to run 2x radar modules and a battery for each as well. They do have a package with a 2k dashcam for the rear running in 2CH. But i want to run both U1000s in 2k resolution at 60fps instead of 4K at 30fps.
Is there a point to the radar if you’re someone who only Parker’s there car for 12 hours at a time maximum? The camera doesn’t take a 10sec video prior to recording?
Can I use my 12 volt lithium batteries in my camping van that is separate from the starter battery to power my U1000 in parking mode for the constant power and just connect the fuse tap to my van's fuse panel for the accessory wire (power only when ignition is on)?
Hi mate, I have installed U1000 with ivolt and radar module. Like you explained i alws leave my car at work with energy saving mode and when i be in car it notify me i have event detection more then 10. But i don’t see any impact in my car but still it saves 20sec video in parking detection. But as per radar it should save only if there is impact. And my sensitivity i have selected Mid in energy saving mode. Could you please help me where i am going wrong. Thank you mate.
Did you get your U1000 to work with a mobile hotspot device? Mine will work with my iphon'e hotspot but when I connect to a mobile hotspot it will say connected to the internet, but will not connect to my mobile phone.
Great video! So what’s the downfall if I don’t get radar module? It just won’t record 20secs extra and will on record on parking mode if it senses motion super close by?
I have Thinkware U1000 + radar, and BlackVue B-124 X battery. why does my battery running out so fast? ( i change the parking mode to the energy Saving already) any advice? Thank you
Hi Dial2fast I have the thinkware U1000 with the battery pack BlackVue Power Magic Ultra B 124X and I cannot get over one day of recording I have the radar module set to energy saving any ideas what can be wrong the only thing is that this battery pack charges really fast.
On the nissan, you want to install the dashcam on the passenger side of the rear view mirror, otherwise you will be blocking the light sensor on the back of the mirror
Hi Dial2Fast - hoping you can answer a question regarding Parking Mode impacts. How much of a bump does it take to trigger the dashcam to record when in Parking mode? Do you think a phones vibration (if pressed to the dashcam) would trigger an "impact"? I ask because I want to create a setup using a small vibration motor from a cellphone , attached to the dashcam body. This would get triggered based off of my aftermarket alarm sensors, including a proximity sensor, to record in parking mode any time the alarm sensors are triggered in situations that may notset off the thinkware sensor. Hope that makes sense Thanks!
Well I can't tell you if your idea will work, but I can tell you the dashcam uses the internal G-sensor to measure the impact. The G-sensor doesn't work like your regular impact sensor in a car alarm. It measures changes in acceleration and not so much vibration. So it's better at detecting movement. The vibration you are applying to the dashcam might not be enough to trigger the impact sensing. That's something you will have to test and try.
К сожалению, это радар бессмысленен к покупке. Он устанавливается спереди, на лобовое стекло. И если в режиме энергосбережения удар происходит сзади? Записи не будет.
@@dial2fast I purchased the U1000 dash cam along with this radar module. I had bestbuy here install it. I noticed that the radar module looks like that it was installed backwards. The cord is on the left side, but in other videos on youtube, including yours, show that it is on the right side. Does it matter which way it's supposed to be?
The Radar Module + Energy Saving 2.0 technology will increase the parking mode operating time by approx 6X. For a 2ch dashcam like the U1000, regular motion detection parking mode consumes 275mA. When using the Radar Module + Energy Saving mode, this dashcam only consumes 45mA. So if you are using an external battery (ex: Thinkware BAB-50), you will increase the parking mode operating time from approx 16 hrs to 4 days. There is a big advantage in getting the Radar Module.

It records right along with the front camera. It plugs into the main U1000 cameraa It also has motion detection. When you are connected with your cell phone and go to files on the program, it will show F for Front, and R for rear camera recording files. You can also separate and view on F or R files or together. You can also go to Thinkware web side and load their program that when you load the camera chip in the enclosed USB chip reader, the program recognizes the chip immediately. There is no interference with any safety features on the car.
