From a storytelling standpoint, this video is a masterpiece. Highs and lows, an actual conversation with the gambling dude, sprinkled in with genuine reflection. Loved it.

I really hope Ludwig doesn’t get scammed by that guy. We wouldn’t want scamwig to become scammedwig

Moral of the story:
You're not as good at gambling as you think. Let someone else do it for you
It turns out the guy was a scammer soooo
Honestly I know a lot of people are worried that this dude is a scammer but ironically this is a thing people do for commission. I do this with football, I have a group of friends that'll give me their limit for the week and I'll bet it alongside my bets and they give me 10% of what they make.
Edit: just saw the new yard podcast. For the last month he's been stringing Ludwig along and "winning" for him but never cashed out and once Lud won a bet that was suppose to pay out 125k the guy ghosted Lud. I do still stand by bookie sports agents are a thing but this guy sadly was either a ponzee schemer and was going to pay lud small winnings until Lud gave him a big deposit or just a common thief. People like that genuinely suck.
Exactly. In Vegas they have bookie agents. A "go between" you and the bookies. Basically a middle man who is good at what he does. BTW, I like your name. 🖤💛
That makes sense but why don't you just put more of your money in and make 100% of what that makes. Is it cus its more fun doing it with friends?
@@xeonbladev18 I do it for fun low risk, high reward since I have a full time job. Down the road this could be full time though. I love doing it for friends and also it's vested interest, win feels alot better when I'm winning for them too.
Ya some ppl don't understand that some bets need to be made in person. Just like rich ppl be having other go to auctions for them.
I wont be surprised if that's what will happen but i dont think Ludwig would mind if he takes a commission, by the sounds of things if that guy is as good as he is the amount Ludwig gave him isn't too much to him and he wont scam Lud for that much
as xQc would say: "im sick, but i can afford to be sick"
i probably never ad that amount of money in my life, like... all the money i've ever had combined
can they though? there can be a scandal or something, or suddenly you as a streamer/youtuber suddenly aren't popular anymore. that means no more stable income. most of the streamers are really dumb and don't invest any of their money.
@@SQERDOMOONLIGHT This is true, but they did a video about how Slime makes sure the crew have solid investment vehicles and also have other assets outside of crypto and what not.
@@SQERDOMOONLIGHT I think he is saying he can afford to be sick because he does invest elsewhere and he's not betting money he doesn't have/shouldn't spend. Even with Ludwig discussing how irresponsible he was being, he was playing with money he just won and didn't need. Even then, he only played with half of what he won initially. No amount of scandal would have had an effect on that - it was just extra money in the first place and not enough to ruin his life.
@@silentbovo1 that's smart. anyone has a link?
@@Chachixo he won 400k, 300k in cheques and 100k in cash, he was paying with half the CASH but only 1/8 what he won
this man is literally the biggest chad i've ever heard of in one of his stories.
Can’t wait for Ludwig to get paid $18k for giving the guy $18k, then Lud gives him $100k and is never heard from again
No point running when you get to gamble with other people's money it is pure profit for you and doesn't hit you with a grand larceny felony
That would be dumb. He can make even more money with Ludwig if he’s smart about it
It's truly building up to a RuneScape-esque doubling-money scam lmao. Next he'll say he can trim Lud's Crocs.
Holy shit dude you predicicted it almost spot on (the money amount). This same guy scammed him from 100k but at least he's feeling the repercussions of it.
I knew it
Thats an insane story! Id say he’s a scammer as well if it werent for the fact these are sports bets he told you about before they happened. Most likely he’ll ask for likea 5-10% commission once the bets get larger if you do end up deciding to go with it
Why do professional betters ask for commission anyways? Can't they just bet more of their own money and make 100% of that? (Unless they have way less money but that doesn't seem like the case here)
Edit: thanks y'all. Didn't think about the risk part and making the income somewhat stable by betting for multiple, returning customers
@@xeonbladev18 risk free money plus bigger bet=more dopamine
@@xeonbladev18 because they're doing the hard part for you?
@@xeonbladev18 I imagine it's a combination of less risk to lose other people's money compared to your own + taking advantage of the comped benefits while betting other's money (free money to gamble, etc).
@@xeonbladev18 Less risk. They get to gamble with essentially "free" money. If they bet and you lose, oh well, they take no loss. If they bet and win, they get a nice paycheck and an almost guaranteed return customer. You're gonna go back to the guy who won you so much money, after all.
If you manage to get a bunch of customers you can pull a very shady move to guarantee money. If you have 9-10 people, and you use their funds to bet every way on a race, and take a commission from the winners, you're guaranteed to make money. Generally if you're charismatic enough you can convince the losers to stick around and reinvest, and the winners will do the same. You just keep skimming 10% off every race you bet on, sometimes more if it's one where you can win multiple ways. Rotate the winners and losers to keep everyone happy as best you can, and keep picking up new clients. It's hard work to keep everyone happy, but it's essentially free and guaranteed money. Just gotta be a people person, and be willing to sell a small bit of your morality.
Watching this now knowing he was in fact a scammer
I'm actually really surprised he was now, I watched the final scamming video before this one and did not connect the dots at ALL.

Bro if lud was just a storytelling gambler I'd still watch
Ludwig is becoming JAY-Z. One day he’s going to title a video “I lost 30 million and spend another 30, because 30 million can’t hurt me”
"I put whose mansion on my wall?!"
cause unlike hammer 30 million can't hurt me
fuckin insane the fuck am i sayin
please never stop talking about stuff like this, people aren't willing to tell these kinds of stories and the people need to know lol
hopefully this guy doesn’t emotionally manipulate and scam lud out of $100k!
It's a bit hard hearing an amount of money that would change life for me and all my loved ones lost on blackjack, but I really appreciate that Lud sounded conscious of that. Great storytelling and self awareness mixed in.
5:15 Ludwig finally realizes what casinos have consciously been doing for decades. You lost 3k and got $200 in drinks, but felt like a winner.
I’m feeling a connection between ozark and the guy getting paid to gamble even if he loses. That’s some money laundering shit right there lmao
maybe it's something unethical but not illegal. if they pay really good players to gamble and give them info on how to win, they win a lot more money. that encourages other gamblers to bet even more because they think there's a chance they'll get that lucky. the profit from that is way higher than whatever it costs to sponsor a few really good gamblers, meaning it's a win-win for everyone (except the other 99% of gamblers lmao)
Ludwig is actually so god damn generous, from paying his mods to tipping his favourite restaurant/cleaners, it’s actually insane
With free 100k I guess most people would get a little generous too
Be careful not to give too much information away on this guy, if this is his profession, it can be very harmful to have his information out there - and the casinos may have already grabbed it from security camera footage.
@@DaFifaKid did you miss the part where he got banned for winning too much money
@@DaFifaKid they pay him only a percentage of what he bets. If he makes a profit every time of course they won’t let him gamble.
@@DaFifaKid yeah from what I’ve heard, professional gamblers have to play an interesting game to maintain their casino’s cause if they notice things aren’t in their favor they’ll ban you and they make a point of getting VERY good a noticing you. The owners can all count cards just like the pros and they notice if your abusing it. You mostly want to win slowly to keep the economy of the casino consistent and the higher ups happy. (From what I picked up off like 2-3 TH-cam videos so I could be wrong)
Yup my #1 concern is that Lud just got someone banned from a whole bunch of casinos.
@@budthecyborg4575 No way, this story is a huge win for the casino. Option A: Ludwig slowly loses $40k, has no story to tell, decides to cut back on the gambling a bit, tells viewers gambling sucks. Option B: Ludwig meets professional gambler friend, beats the casino for a few hours, has a good time, tells half a million people how fun gambling is, and STILL LOSES $40k. This is exactly what the casino wants, if anything they probably gave the guy a bonus.
Lmao it’s not the rich getting richer. The casino knows the odds are always in their favor. They comp because if you’re down 30k them giving you a fraction of it back doesn’t matter and it actually encourages you to come back and keep spending because you think you’re beating the system
It is quite literally the rich getting richer. It's strategic so that the poorer people can never win enough to get to the better odds where they can win real money. The one thing that casinos love more than anything is a class gap, because people in Vegas get desperate to escape average society, and they gamble, gamble, and gamble, always trying to chase a high, trying to reach back to even, and after they break even, they feel cheated, so they keep going, and funneling money back to the casino. The house always wins
@@classcalamity669 Ludwig was talking about people that spend more money at the casino getting compensated by the casino and was saying those comps were the rich getting richer. That’s what my post was about
Don’t apologize for telling your stories in detail. We love that shit.
Thanks for the shoutout Lud!
I love how the guy gets him back up to 40k and that doesn’t convince Ludwig of his skill, BUT A TENNIS MATCH- now that is true talent!
Why do I feel he’s gonna build up his trust over a while, then he’s gonna give him like a million to gamble and he’s just gonna run
And it'll be an amazing story
him saying "I want to earn your trust" was a huge red flag for me too. I can almost guarantee he's gonna go "oh no bud I bet it all on a bad bet and lost it all," fake a receipt, then take a nice vacation.
@@NecrozmaJade I think he just professionally bets with other peoples money and takes a certain percentage. He probably is doing it for free so he can "earn your trust"
@@rileyneyman9789 Yeah, this is what I think as well since it's a real thing people do in Vegas. And judging by the skills he has shown more than likely he does it professionally.
This a movie in the making. Not to mention, probably a very real service that people, in Vegas, that are great gamblers, provide to your ordinary (no offense Ludwig) gambler.
They take money from multiple people, bet for them in Vegas, make them money successfully and in return, receive a commission. That commission adds up so it's worth not scamming people out of their money.
Giving your friend 5k for his wedding is a true bromance
The moment he said he won back 40k, I knew he’d blow it moments later
ludwig was so vulnerable during this entire trip
I want the funny gambler man to be a reoccurring character, he seems very funny
THE MONKEY’S PAW CURLS

He's a cow about it
Lus just sitting there making money is the epitome of ‘the rich get richer’ and you know what? I love it.
That dude is so dope.
Starting to think famous TH-camrs are simply born with plot armor
I think a lot of people don't realize how easy it is to count cards on a deck that doesn't get constantly shuffled. Its very easy, just look it up if you're curious.
"The rich get richer" isn't really true here cause most of the "high rollers" despite having slightly better odds of winning will lose a lot more money per person when they inevitably lose.
The house always wins.
Casino dealer here! Ludwig is right about many things. High limit/roller tables have better odds than the "poor peoples" tables that have 6 to 5.
Bacc and Blackjack would be the games to make money, PaiGow is to get free drinks, and having a good time with other people would probably be Ultimate Texas Holdem.
Fun facts - There are no clocks in the casino, this is so that you lose track of time while gambling.
Lud Pog'd so hard he forgot to stick to the plan 🤣🤣
Casinos really have gambling addictions figured out, they aren’t giving you this free stuff to be nice, they’re doing it so that you’re more likely to stay addicted
It’s the return of Ludwig story time hell ye
“I would not do this, but this is what I used to do” gotta be my favorite quote

This might be one of my favorite Ludwig videos of all time. This literally sounds like a plot out of a movie bro; “the hangover”, but good ending and less absolute insanity 😂
I'm starting to notice that going somewhere for him is always cursed
The curse of Content
i love meeting people that are crazy good and random shit, always learn something cool

I really recommend watching the VOD. This video is basically the beginning and the end of the stream. He cut out a huge part in the middle where he waited 4 hours in a pool club for David Guetta and got shit face drunk.
this guy sounds actually really chill
if ludwig does another poker game he should get daniel in it
Ludwig is a true working class hero constantly exposing the overlords
I worked as a casino surviellance agent in Vegas and I am shocked you weren't backed off when being told what to do each hand. Also, I kind of assumed everyone knew about high roller rooms having better odds even the slot machines have "better odds"(not by much). On a final note I've never heard of a single person being barred for doing well at sports betting, there is 100% something missing from that story of his.
People 100% can get barred for sports better, it's rare but it happens if they have an edge and make a lot of money.
@@olliert4840 The only people I remember being banned from sports betting areas are people taking losing tickets to make false tax lose claims and scammers. Not saying it's impossible though, I'll have to ask my one of my old directors, maybe it just didn't happen at the casinos I worked it.
Ludwig is such a man of the people. Telling definitely relatable stories.
I want Lud to spend a week with this guy and stream what he can on these sports bets, so maybe we can come up too lol
The Dude helping Ludwig is like the giga boss of gambling
I don’t tune into too many Ludwig streams but i loved the Vegas story time, such an entertaining stream

I don't know how it would've fit into a good video but sitting there live after he "ended" and listening to him watching a video about sports betting was golden. The whole chat being "???" before he came in and type something like "IM TRING TO LERAN" was so fucking funny
Man that dude is a homie.
Again more reasons I would never give money to Lud.
This dude seems like the funnest person to be around
This story was hilarious to me when he told it live
Craps is probably the most fun/hype when you’re with a big group of people.it’s always the loudest table in the casino
Update alert, he got scammed
Bro I love his stories so much… like holy these are amazing
Knowing how Lud is a pretty smart man, I can confirm that alcohol is bitch, that fella is probably playing on making him money and earn his trust, to then run away with more, once he gives him more. I have seen it happen
man forgot to max luck, he left it at 5 and forgot how to play new vegas headass. I finished the video and he did indeed max luck...
This actually works at any casino. So outside of Vegas the rates are ALOT smaller. In Cherokee NC I can call and say imma gamble at least 500 and they’ll comp the room and take the 500 when I get there and give me credit to gamble with.
Last time I ended up winning 600.
So gained 100 and got to have some fun.
Storytelling Skills are actually pogging out of control. Nocap or whatever.
lud didn't get scammed but he did walk away from Vegas with a personal bookie, worth the 40k?
the part where you address that you kinda feel that people would feel bad because this amount of money is the annually salary for most of people which is true shows how educated and respectful you are
These are so great. As someone with no job eligible for disabilities, I love living vicariously through Ludwig’s wild stories.
Fr. My bank account was over drafted a couple hundred recently, (which is an insane amount for me) and hearing him talk about money like this is cathartic in a way. It makes it seem humorous rather than stressful for a few minutes
Yo same. I have no income and am waiting for disability to be approved and I love living vicariously through TH-camrs
this story is wild lud. didn't expect the turn it'd take but sounds like something that'd happen in vegas
The only way I believe this is that the gambling guy is taking a cut off of wins.
He posted a video later and he got scammed for loads of money by the guy
As someone who has two parents who worked at the casino, this video just keeps getting funnier and funnier. These aren’t just Las Vegas things, they’re true for most casinos
I swear way too much crazy stuff happens to Ludwig
Ludwin is the only scammer that gets scammed and it turns out the guy is actually legit lmao
Amazing how youtube pops this video out right after the scam.
