My PXG 0311P Gen 3 irons were bought second hand. All standard specs. I used them for an enough rounds to feel they were ‘off’. PXG standard length is longer than industry standards. The TT Elevate shafts in regular flex were also a little too flexible for me. I was able to tip the shafts to move the flex between R and S and then get the overall length to my desired measurement. This fine tuning tightened up my dispersion pattern and carry distance spacing. Swingweights were also matched throughout the set. Now I have clubs that I will be happy with for years instead of being frustrated and rushing out to get new clubs.

A few notes to add here: 1) taper tip iron shafts are .355, not .335; 2) PXG uses .370 hosels on all irons and the “special” ferrules helps seat the smaller tip diameter into the larger diameter hosel; 3) if you want a custom ferrule, simply use a .355 - .370 shim during the build process to firmly seat the shaft into the hosel. I’ve built several sets of PXGs with custom ferrules using this method.

I put some pure pro grips on my clubs this past winter, I have sweaty hands and they are by far the worst grip for people like me. I cleaned them numerous times it did nothing. It felt like I had olive oil on my hands when I was holding those grips. I switched to a Winn dri tac 2.0 and I would highly recommend them for people with sweaty hands.

According to PXG in UK. All PXG iron heads have .370 bore.

Hi Jim. Great content thank you. A question that I can’t find the answer for anywhere is the 4gram screw is longer than standard. Can that be used in any screw slot or just the 3 middle ones? I need to get the swing weight up on my irons from D0 to D2.

Working on so many PXG's recently, you should figure out how to just fit and sell them directly! :-)

Awesome content Jim. Question: Was having lighter longer irons the goal of that OEM? How were the lofts? Were they jacked up or normal? Cheers

They were normal for the model. Lighter weight are to make the club swing faster however these were custom fit

I would be very nervous to fit a person from data supplied by the golfer. It could be perfect, but usually not. Hope he knew what he was doing.

Never makes sense how golfers get fitted for a full set of irons from hitting one club.
