Ok lets get started ....... Friday 3rd November 2023 had a fitting session at PXG store South London. My fitter was Conor ......he made me feel so comfortable.....huge feel good factor form the first moment ...... Great interaction with Conor .... after one hour of hitting ..... swooping irons heads ..... shafts ...... I was fitted of me the perfect clubs 9.9/10. Nothing was a problem for the PXG staff ...... Thank you Conor and PXG . Happy days
I replaced P770’s with PXG Gen 6 irons. The best fitting experience ever and the performance is phenomenal and consistent. As a bit of a magpie who regularly changes gear, I can honestly say these and my Sugar Daddy wedges will be in the bag until they (or I) wear out!
I've been playing PXG for 2 years and have upgraded my driver 3 times to Gen 6. Moved away from Callaway (though I still play my Mavik Hybrids). Love the brand. And if you are close enough to a store they will respec them after a rough season to get them back to the right lofts/lies for free.
I just ordered the 0317 T irons today. I play Srixon zx5 and based off of your reviews and Peter Finch 's reviews, I am making the move. I have hit other PXG irons and was happy with the results. Keep up the great work.
Great video I’m getting fitted tomorrow by PXG looking to get 0211XCOR2 irons . Update went today and have bought a set . I pick them up next week.Great fitting session at Kingsacre golf club in Scotland
James, you deserve these. Just commit ... you can do it. Think of the joy your viewers will have, living vicarously thru you. You are living our dream.
I just made the switch today. Moved from TM 970’s to the 317 T. The fitting process was awesome. Took about an hour. Really in depth and highly recommended. I was fitted for my 970’s and the process was night and day difference with pxg. My pxg guy was way more helpful and invested in fitting me properly.
I have watched ‘endless’ vids by this gentleman found them enjoyable but one would need to be more than ‘comfortably’ off to try ‘all’ the suggested irons and drivers. Even without buying them !!!!
All PXG models it’s always pronounced “Oh 317 not Zero 317 as all models based on USMC jobs ie MOS 0311 is infantry, etc. Sorry as Marine 0317, just had to give you a heads up from your US fans, love your content ❤
Got the Gen 6 P 5 to 9 irons and CB in pitching wedge I have had gen 3 and gen 5 pxg irons and loved both sets I still see them all the time as my sunday playing partners took them off my hands :) I have to say the gen 6 p is the softest feeling iron i have hit. It feels like a forged mizuno iron Great set of irons i have the feeling i wont be replacing this set for a long while Long straight and soft feel its a winner for me
Just ordered myself some PXG GEN 6 XP's all chrome got a great deal especially with the Hero's prices I know the GEN 7 is out but i couldn't resist the deal of the GEN 6's great video James well done cheers from Canada
For me, PXG is the gold standard for feel on a hollow bodied iron. I've got the Gen 3P irons and they perform great. Very consistent on distances and dispersion. I'm very likely to try the Gen 6 T next spring. The Gen 6 P has gotten a a bit too strong in loft and won't gap well with my woods. I've found the same thing that you have with regards to hollow body irons vs traditional forged irons in that the higher spin on traditional irons is affected more by the wind. The heart wants what the heart wants but you're game seems to look more consistent when you're playing hollow bodied irons like these. At least it seems that way with this video.
Best irons on the market, by far! Particularly when you get fitted properly. Been playing with them for a year and a half now and would never change back to anyone else.
Hello James, I’ve had a set of Gen 4’s for 3 years. I have they XP’s and they perform great. I switched from Calloway to get these. I do recommend taking the time to get fitted before dropping the money for a set.
Absolutely get fitted in person, preferably outdoors on a driving range, not in a cubicle on a simulator. I recently had just this outdoor fitting for a Black Ops driver. It went better than I expected, the fitter also tuned my (ordered by phone, which was a mistake) Gen 5 driver. Understand me, the phone order people do the best they can, but NOTHING beats getting fitted on the range with real balls. So my Gen 5 driver is now giving me better performance while I wait for the Black Ops to arrive (hurry up FedEx!). I currently use custom fitted irons that are only a couple of years old and love them. So have resisted the idea of testing the PXG irons. The 317T line recently released though, well, I am tempted but will probably wait a bit for that. Really think I can make more improvement spending the $ on some lessons when I settle in the new driver. Time will tell. James, those irons look good on you. Stay with them for a while and see what happens.
Just got the new black ops driver and it's amazing. Can't hit it badly however bad my swing is. Will definitely look at the irons when I next get fitted as currently using ping G430. Great video keep it going.
@@kylesinclair203 visually in the bag yeah it’s like I have Frankenstein’s monster in my bag they play amazing. I also got fitted by PXG. Their 0211 blades are beautiful
I decided last year to try the 7, 8 and 9 iron in the 0317 st and i love them. I still have mp20's in for the rest but I'm now goong to order 4, 5 and 6 of the 0317 t.
I can’t hit irons to save my life. Played this week at Four Seasons Hualalai with a rented set - PXGs - and was dreading it, but had (by far) the best round of my life. Mis-hit one, but all the other irons went straight and true, more pars than ever before. Absolutely loved them.
I had a set of PXG gen 2 0311T irons a few year back. They were ok, went to Miura 501s for a couple of years a recently changed to the new Miura 302s. Best irons I've ever hit. I've had PXG, Titleist, Ping, Callaway, Mizuno and Taylormade. In my opinion the 302s feel the best. Wish I could still play blades, I would find me a set of Miura Baby Blades from a couple years back.
Love the review James! I’m currently playing PXG irons gen 6 and 0317 cb combo set and they are the best irons I’ve ever hit … love them. Looking forward to giving the T’s a hit
I have the original 0211's about 5 yrs old now and was looking at getting a new set of generation 6 this winter but I may look at these instead. Love your videos
What’s in the bag video has went out the window James😂 the ball flight and control you have just had on these pxg irons would be very silly to leave them out of the bag and not to mention bag appeal is on point. I love the look off all pxg clubs specially there putters but am yet to see anyone use them🤷🏻♂️ Am currently 14.2 handicap and I don’t know what pxg irons would be for my game because I don’t really understand what’s what for example I can’t play p770s but I can play p790 but love the forgiveness off the stealth regardless of how chunky they are so when it comes to pxg I don’t no what’s what and not many shops have them to try. As always brilliant videos and nice to see the little feller strolling on the course with you haha.
currently have the ping g430 irons, just started golfing this year and fell in love with the game. really worked on my swing and contact and feel like it has drastically improved with much more room to go. scheduled a fitting with pxg tomorrow looking for something a little closer to a traditional loft to help with a more consistent roll out on my irons, but also going through the full bag to see if they can help me out across all the clubs!
I bought the 0311P gen5 full bag special before they launched. PXG was running an upgrade program that if you had a set of gen4 clubs you could get the gen5 clubs for a discounted price. My brother bought himself a set of gen4 and I got the gen5. I started my PXG journey with gen1 driver and fairway metal with titleist ap3 irons. Having had a set of ping irons before my PXG, I would say the 0311 P look much more like a ping from the top down than a titleist. Having now played with the PXG for at least a full season I will say they are very forgiving. Slightly shorter than the ap3 but more forgiving. At this stage in my golf game titleist and PXG definitely make the best irons I've played. For my next set I will probably go for a more narrow look from the top down than the 0311 P. You can't beat the fitting from PXG and their hybrids, fairway metals and drivers are great. I've been playing their metals for at least 5 years now and have zero complaints. I do like the all black look of the gen1 driver better than the gen 5 driver though. Personal preference.
The Geezer plays the PXG 0211s, the ones I preferred, however their lowest priced set. I had the more expensive ones first but hit the 0211's better. Also have the PXG 0311 fairway woods.
I don't think anyone, even the haters, know they are good. They just have a pricing model that never makes any sense and feels like it screws over golfers
@@pxg just ordered some new GEN 6 XP's in all chrome and i can't wait till spring ordered them 3 days ago and they were shipped today WOW i am very impressed
I game PXG 0211's in the black finish and they're holding up really well. Way better than my black finish Vokey SM9's. And the Jet black Vokey's are not doing so hot at all.
Yeah very nice!! I always use iron covers so no one is gonna go wow on my bag appeal factor - its all about performance for me. I recently hit the NEW 2024 Yamaha RMX VD/R iron and while its not as pretty at address as these PXG beauties, but performance and breathtaking workability and feel on every shot all be it on the range. Would love to have these in the bag but its also a perfect marriage of getting the right shaft and ball combination. My go to shaft is KBS Tour 120g so I compare all iron shafts against that benchmark and i play the Bridgestome tour b rxs ball. Fantastic iron and James really enjoyed these and played really well. You got a great swing action James - dont be too hard on yourself. You are very good.
Those three seventeen irons look really nice. tbh, they are perhaps a bit pricey for my pocket, when I had a look at the website. Sorting out my game probably comes before new irons or being fitted for new irons. It’s a bit tempting though.
James when you say play differently, do you mean a lower ball flight? Could you do a video on how that would work, what the benefit would be to your game and be implemented.
GEN 6 this year for my Calloways ...absolute quality feel and way ahead of the comp...fitting is also quality..wont be changing them for a few years though as also pricey!
Hi James. I use the Gen6 P and love them but not happy about the “jumpers” and overshooting greens. I was looking at the T but some people have said, why not the CB? Have you any knowledge to pass on? Ps… love your Channel 💥🏌🏻
The 0317 look really nice and you play them well. I would consider PXG for my next set, but I'm not ready to give up the current Mizuno Pro 323's yet. I'm partial to Mizuno, so keep your JPX's around. Good review James.
Scared to try them as i have a set of the entry level PXG blades 0211 ST and they work, end of. Did have the 0211DC but as you said they became less predictable on knock down shots that i didn't try at the fitting cos i got to excited watching them fly....
Hi James I currently play the Gen 4 P extreme black which I think look more players than the gen 5 and 6. I’d be interested if anyone has moved from the gen 4 to these
I had a PXG fitting today and to my suprise and delight i was actually hitting the 0317 CB the best with the UST recoil dart 75 shaft. When i place my order ill split the set and get 4,5,6 in the T and the rest in CB. Oh by the way......... im 20HCP which to me proves my current clubs are the issue and not me
Hi, looking for advice. My HC is 18. Been using the Gen6 P and 5/6 in XP. Hate the XP and going to get fitted for the T but was told…why not the CB? Are you happy with your choice? Was just going to get all in CB rather than splitting, after bad experiences with XP. Thanks in advance
@nigelloughlin4539 I didn't end up getting the PXG clubs in the end but it wasn't because they weren't good. They really did feel great just opted to go a different route that's all. Sorry I can't help more. Don't rule out graphite shafts either. They felt loads better with graphite.
Love your reviews, James, but I just don't understand why you don't get a 14 way divider bag for the cart reviews. Watching you cram new gear into that small bag gives me anxiety! Lol. ...but those PXG clubs look fantastic!
Went gen 6 this year. First time pxg player. Have been incredible. I believe they have a former ping designer at pxg. These are similar to ping in high bounce but in my opinion much softer feeling. Great club
James, I bought the PXG 0211ST blades early 2022 off the shelf from a retail store. They played poorly and appeared strong and upright at address so I had them adjusted for loft and lie at Tour X and all were way out for both adjustments sadly. They are now a great set of irons but would I not have been wiser to buy an old set of Mizunos for £300?, the current value of my 0211ST's..... The gist of this, be careful where you buy your clubs. Has PXG compromised itself allowing retail shops to sell their clubs, which may not have been correctly matched. The resale value of PXG compared to Ping is also dire.
Ok lets get started ....... Friday 3rd November 2023 had a fitting session at PXG store South London.

Those irons look stunning. I'd love to give them a try but my P-790's are only 2 years old and not ready for retirement yet. Maybe next year.
I just got fitted for Gen 6 0311 XP with Mitsubishi MMT 80G Stiff shafts and sugar Daddy wedges. Really good experience and can't for them to arrive.
I’d be interested if anyone has moved from the gen 4 to these
Play PXG 2011 Irons and went from P790 to these . Much better for me and more consistent on off centre shots and handicap has come down as a result 😊
THOSE LOOK FANTASTIC
How would you compare these to the 0211 ST?
Love your reviews, James, but I just don't understand why you don't get a 14 way divider bag for the cart reviews. Watching you cram new gear into that small bag gives me anxiety! Lol.
...but those PXG clubs look fantastic!
I like my small bag lol. It’s fits in my car 😂
@@JamesRobinsonGolf Fair enough! Porsche's boot isn't exactly cavernous
Went gen 6 this year. First time pxg player. Have been incredible. I believe they have a former ping designer at pxg. These are similar to ping in high bounce but in my opinion much softer feeling. Great club
I think when they set up they took alot of ping designers
Best irons to me on feel and distance
And look amazing!
I am going to test the PXG game improvement, Titleist T350 and the JPX Hot Metal and buy whichever works the best for me.
Play the PXG 0311T Gen 5, how would these 0317T be comaped to my current?
Looks like a Blue Print iron with a back weight, have you compared them side by side in testing...
