    Thanks for another informative video. I now make my own clubs (and my wife's) and your videos have been of great benefit; not least in that they show me what's important for me to focus on in clubmaking, and what is not so important (because we really aren't good-enough players to benefit from the high-end fine-tuning). I used your videos as a primary reference when I changed both of our club sets (old Ping G5 series) to graphite shafts and new grips, and we both are extremely pleased with the results. I feel this is the best-matched set of clubs I've had, and the ball flight is unquestionably higher (with a bit of distance increase too). Even though we are high-handicap players who are in our 60s, we are better since we made this change, and being on the course is more fun, because we can make more shots now. So thank you for all the help you have given us, and many other folks too, I'm sure.

    Jim, i required right knee replacement surgery and scheduled for end of golf season, Nov 1. The day before, Oct 31, my last day of golf for the year. I had a hole in 1 (my third) and shot 76. Logansport Bob

    Question Jim. Does the FLO come close to matching the spine of the shaft? Over at GW, Jim Y taught us to find the spine, mark it, then glue it in the 3:00 position facing the target side.

      In most cases yes, the popular thought is to put it in the direction of the target.

    Jim, i have not seen you address building clubs to other than .5 in gapping such as .4 in to achieve MOI matching rather than swingweight matching. could you address this in a video or in your What’s in my drawers weekly?

    PS You got me locked in on center of gravity/perfect launch angles.

    Jim do shaft tip weights or lead or tungsten/cork in an iron shaft end affect the club CG enough that you should be concerned. Will it make the ball hook more or fade less? Can I determine the CG of an assembled iron? Love your TH-cams. Need to talk to you about a set of Wilson wedges with KBS shafts.

    Jim - Another good video. Do you ever use cork and tungsten powder to swing weight? What are the drawbacks of that process?

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Once and didn’t really like it. Pros are it doesn’t impact the cosmetic of the club. Con is the high possibility of not getting the cork in proper place

    JPX 850'S have a uniform gap wedge. Is it not a 50 deg?? Pitching wedge being 46. You have me worried.

      No in mizuno case they either don’t make a GW or it’s more wedge like than iron like

    Jim, did you used collared Ferrules on the JPX heads?

    • @McGolf

      Nope straight ferrules

    Most recreational golfers start their swings off balance simply due to the face they rest the mass of the club head dead on the ground and don’t take practice swings to give the club a chance to show them what the naturally balanced path of arm and body mass plus club head mass is around the center of rotation and balance back between your heals so I suspect much of what you do fine tuning the balance of the clubs is a bit like casting pearls amongst the swine. 😂
