Really glad to see a PXG review. I am currently playing a PXG driver and think it is as good as any of my other Titliest, Cobra, or Taylormade drivers ever were. Nice to hear honest reviews from guys I trust.
I have been playing PXG 0311 irons for the last 3 years. Purchased the forged Gen 4 0311 Dark Irons last Fall with Aerotech shafts and they are absolute perfection. I also have the gen 5 2 iron which is a rocket. Soft, stable, ball speed generating machines. Even mishits are forgiven. With my CHS I generate a lot of spin so the 0311’s helps control the balloon effect… Will not change unless they are ripped from my cold hands!! 👍💪💪💯💯🔥👍🔥
I just did a fitting with PXG. The fitter knew his stuff and was not pushy at all. He constantly had me go back to my iron. Picked up 6-7mph ball speed got my spin down to 6500 on a 7 with the gen 5 p series. I was shocked how much I liked the feel especially with steelfiber 115 which is a shaft I would not normally try. Current promo also makes them the same price or cheaper than major OEMs. Best part they shipped in 2 days
When I was buying my new irons, I wanted P790s but couldn't justify the cost being 2x the 0211s. I got upgraded shafts, fully custom, fit and delivered for less than 50% of the TM. I couldn't be happier two years later with my PXGs, fun and easy to hit with great distance. I couldn't recommend trying them during your fit.
PXG has the best clubs with performance, feel, looks ,quality and awesome discounts. Once you try PXG's ,you'll fall in love with them. Thank you for the straightforward unbiased review.
PXG makes great irons. Owned the Gen 3 0311P for over a year before changing to P790's, and I can say for sure they are solid preforming and sounding irons. Have hit my buddies Gen 4's and they are just as good so It's real nice to see the Gen5's getting tested.
Best comment “everything available in lefty” Planning a new set of irons for 2023 and PXG just entered the race. The Titleist T100/T100s I was planning to replace my aged AP2 712, have some competition it would seem.
Nice to see PXG on TXG. Would definitely be interested in your thoughts on the 0211 series, as I'm in the process of building a new bag with them over the winter as a reward to myself for achieving a life goal.
Did the full bag deal for the Gen 4 clubs. What a deal it was! Absolutely love these things. Got the 0311 STs PW-6 and the 0311 T in the 5 and 4. These things are pure. Great vid boys
Timely! I j forwarded this vid to a golf buddy who is seriously looking at PXG. *New Follower?* Something tells me that once he sees you three gentlemen you will have a new follower.
PXG have done a really good job of COMPLETELY rebranding themselves as an affordable but premium brand. When my Wilson Staff D7 forged are starting to fall apart I'll go for a PXG fitting for sure
I have exactly what you guys suggested - Gen 3 T from 5-9 iron and a Gen 3 P 4 iron. Won a limited edition set of PX LS 6.5 on a twitter raffle, love the combo. Offers great forgiveness and workability, the 4 iron is a rocketship and is perfect for my home course which is pretty short and tight. Great review, glad to see PXG finally sent y’all some gear to try out!
I bought some used Gen 2 0311t’s recently. I got them as they have Steelfibres in them and I thought they would be less harsh on my elbow. I’m really pleased with them and they seem pretty forgiving for a club of that size.
Just switched to PXG 0311ST gen 4 blades this season. Knocked mizuno out the bag. Also purchased a 0811 x driver at 7.5 degrees HZRDUS yellow. Knocked the rad speed out the bag instantly.
I had a fitting and was about to get Srixon ZX4 mk2 per recommendation....I was asking about discounts and such and said would match any box store prices....then when knew was military veteran told me to check PXG Heroes program. I said were too expensive....he told me to check and he thought I would be very pleased with their discounted clubs...especially if get previous version (Gen5). I checked...and he was correct. So thought I was going to be a Srixon guy for next few years but ended up with Gen5 XP 5-PQ and X Driving Iron.
I love my 0311t gen2... picked em up a couple years ago for 120 a club and put them with the steelfiber 95s stiff and man they are butter. Absolutey love them still after years of swinging them
There's plenty of hype but the products are good. I have a few friends who were big PXG haters & now play them. 0311T is a great set for those of us who used to play blades but have kids now.
I’ve got a blended set in the Gen5. 4-6 in the P and 7-GW in the T. Had the same in the Gen3 and Gen4’s. Love them. The Gen3’s were awesome and I didn’t see much improvement when I moved to the Gen4’s. The Gen5’s are a good jump, just like when they went from the Gen2 to the Gen3.
You're killing my wallet. I have the gen 3s in the same combo you had. Skipped gen 4 because I didn't really see any benefit but might have to order some gen 5s.
Pxg now have a uk facility for manufacturing their equipment. I arranged a fitting online fitting took place at clydeway golf driving range in Blantyre Scotland a 20 minute drive from my home. Had a very good fitting session and clubs delivered in 6 days. My set is 6- gap wedge 0311 gen 3 xp forged irons. 4&5 hybrid and gen 5 driver and 5 wood. Gained 15 yards distance and 20 yards roll from driver which was on special during September for £250 really like them
Try out the 0211 line and see how they stack up against other clubs that are double+ the price. It's the best value in golf besides some of the Sub70 irons.
Pulled the trigger bought the 0211s even though they're big faced clubs and they go forever only problem is matching rest of set to either end of bag. ps just had best round ever last week.
Bought 0311 extreme dark P G-8i and XP 7i-5i with 2 degree weaker loft on launch for $1800 with military discount. Man I do love those clubs. There’s no perfect clubs but these feel pretty dang close.
I think these look fantastic. Brutalist but elegant too. They look fierce and a great option instead of the crispy clean Miura/Mizuno/Wilsons (yes Wilson are top top bladed irons)
Been playing the irons for 3 years. Love them. Just started using hybrids last year and love them as well. PXG irons just are so soft and still feel great
If there is one thing I took from this, it was the sound. Nice, soft and muted sound. As an idea when testing the game improvement irons. Maybe intentionally hit the toe and heel, as the target market is likely to do, and make note of how they perform. Do they spin and stop? Do they land short but roll out to the usual carry distance? Etc. I think the higher handicap market would be interested in that sort of info as well perhaps.
Could not agree more! The 0211ST was an incredible performance / feel / value forged blade. No longer offered on the PXG site. Perhaps they are making some changes or perhaps it was too good and hurting 0311 T sales?
Bought. Full set of gen 4 st and t irons gw to 4 iron and can’t fault them. The fitting process was miles ahead of anything else I’ve had. Upgraded to the full bag as it made financial sense and sold all my old gear bar the putter. If you get chance to test the sugar daddy ii wedges you must do a video….
I picked up an 0811xt driver last spring. Got it for the price but it’s been really good for me. Only thing that sucks about it is the pack a day smoking and yelling “I’M A REAL BOY!!!” when I hit a bomb.
Just picked up some 0311 P Gen 4’s from my local Club Champion. Look, feel and performance beat out everything else with a good price to boot. Gen 4’s worked out better than Gen 5’s so could spent the savings on puring the shafts
Just got a set of the gen4 0311p and they’re great. Super soft, great sound, and very hot especially on miss hits. Got the gen 4 because they spin just a little more than the gen 5.
I just got the 0317 and they are really great. I have the black finish and the look and feel great. I have the callaway jaws wedges and they match up really well with those. I'd say better then the sugar daddy wedges that I tried during the fitting.
@@Trump2024Kentucky I didn't hit them any better than my Gen 1's. I just hit some Sat. though and the spin was really low. LIke 4400 with the 7 iron. It might have been the crappy balls. They were also flying like 185-190

Thank you guys for the review! Can you guys please compare the 0331T to the market competitors such as the Titleist t100s, Callaway Apex pro, Srizon ZX7 etc... to see how it compares to the market as currently I don't see a lot of people actually reviewing the PXG irons as much as they deserve. Also feel like this section of the market doesn't really get to much comparison between a players iron and a players distance iron.
I picked up my Gen 3 0311P Irons for $99 a club brand new last month and feel like I robbed PXG, absolutely love them! Also, would still love to see some more top down shots at adress to see how they compare!
SAME! Got a fitting and tried the gen 3 and gen 4 and actually preferred and bought the gen3 T set. Played a few rounds before winter came, and also have been playing in a sim league for the off season, and I REALLY love them.
Great ive got the 0211s with the Kbs Tgi 80s in them they are sensational irons been thinking of testing the 0311 irons cant wait for you to test the woods and hybrids
Just bought a new gen 5 driver 12 degree with a kurokage shaft and bout to buy the gen 5 Xp irons 2 degrees weak with a steel fiber. 70 gram shaft. 2degrees weak bc my lowest lofted wedge would be 50. 5-p on the irons
@@lawbinson P-8 or maybe even 7 yes. I bought them because it forced me to practice more and focus on my ball striking. I normally game the T100S though. I got a few lessons last year and really improved with using these and I couldn’t pass them up for the price.
In the market for a new iron set and will definitely test the 0311 Gen 5 irons, especially since they are reasonably priced and their HQ is a couple of miles from where I live. Cheers.
As always, an interesting video and likely one to help get more people to try PXG clubs. I've always been turned off by their marketing (e.g. the shouting guy) but your review has done more to make me curious about the brand than any of the $ spent on marketing/branding/advertising.
Try the 0211 ST low cost pure forged blade! Under $100 / club. Wonderful value, looks and feel. Not crazy lofted. Also reminder to customers that loft and lie can be ordered to suite your specs and amazing good list of stock shafts including graphite. Looks like they are no longer offering them. Perhaps a new version coming out? The 0211XCOR is cast with forged face and has been improved over last year's 0211
They had an offer a couple of weeks ago, a new 0211 driver for £129, with them now making clubs in the UK you get them pretty quickly rather than taking months like some others.
I've been gaming the Taylormade Stealth irons. Looking for a forged iron. Might be worth the time and money (they are now charging $50 for a fitting here in Utah in the US) to do a fitting on these and do a comparison!
Would have liked it if you spent more time showing the head type profiles , top edge, offset etc. what’s the material? Missed that part? The centre screw looks like the TM R7 button 😀
just got my gen 5 0311T black with steelfiber private reserve. easily best looking iron ive ever seen. 1st round 3 over. good round for me. these will be in the bag for awhile. i ordered the 5 in the P. my mistake. the P line is way to progressive offset considering they have an xp line. i mean the 5 iron is one of the most offset irons ive seen...anyway if they didnt have the t line in the 5 i would have bought the 0317cb but honestly i would have been mad i couldnt get the look of the blacked out gen 5 or 6 it a players iron. P is definitely not a players iron...
Did you use the same length shafts with each head type? The XP is spec'd on PXG's website with 1/2 inch longer shafts compared to the T and P. The difference seen in distance in the review looks like what would be expected from the few degrees of loft difference between the heads. I'm curious because I played the 0211 DC irons last year and switched to the 0311 P irons this year because the distances I was getting on the 0211 created some overlap problems with my hybrids and fairway woods at the top of the bag and gaps at the bottom. I'm wondering if swapping to a 1/2" shorter shaft throughout would have also solved the problem. If you used the same shafts in each head type then I'm also curious if you adjusted the lie angle for the shorter than spec shaft with the XP head.
You can buy them through us as an authorized dealer. That way we can deal with any warranty issues and make future adjustments to loft and lie etc which are free.
I found the tone of this video interesting. Almost conciliatory that these PXG irons don't have alot to complain about. They are really great irons, and the guys are almost grudgingly accepting it, instead of excitedly celebrating it. Interesting.
Mattie is back!!!! So am I!!! Hopefully TXG getting back to being my favorite channel on TH-cam ❤🎃

just got my gen 5 0311T black with steelfiber private reserve. easily best looking iron ive ever seen.
Great video guys.
Awesome video guys! Any chance you can review the drivers? 0311 and 0311XF?
Is it worth the upgrade to gen 6 over gen5 irons
Best tech on the market. Now the best prices. No reason not to play pxg
Glad you guys tried the irons. Anything in the works to do gen 5 driver?
Great looking irons...Do you guys have these available for your iron fittings?
Are you going to test 0211 line up?
TXG with PXG
So how does it work with DTC and TXG ? Do they just do the fit and recommend what you should buy from PXG?
You can buy them through us as an authorized dealer. That way we can deal with any warranty issues and make future adjustments to loft and lie etc which are free.
I just bought gen 5 irons and woods. I love them. But i like the gen 4 woods better than gen 5 woods. Gen 5 irons are better than gen 4
I found the tone of this video interesting. Almost conciliatory that these PXG irons don't have alot to complain about. They are really great irons, and the guys are almost grudgingly accepting it, instead of excitedly celebrating it. Interesting.
PXG released high-end, expensive irons. As OEMs steadily increase their prices per iron/driver, PXG undercuts the market with reasonable prices.
