  • You wouldn't expect a Toyota Corolla Hybrid to handle well. But you'd be mistaking. Just like I was. When you think about hybrids, you think tires screaming for mercy at 20mph and body roll.

07:29 The "eCVT" in the hybrids is a totally different design and does not use a belt & pulleys, it varies gear ratios using the 2 motor-generators that are inside the transaxle. It also does not have a launch gear like in the gas models.

On the hybrid there is no actual CVT, because there isn’t any belt and pulleys. So that’s why you can’t feel any simulated gear. In the regular gas model, it would try to simulate gear because there is a physical 1st gear.

You've upped your game on video and commentary. Great overview of a practical car by an enthusiast driver.

finally replaced the poor sony action cam - so quality's from newer gopro 10 black. Plus it's stupid cold so I wasn't standing outside to make this. lol Warmth of car - then while doing a different version of the car I started getting shocked by how well it handled. I'll cover more on it in the future.

Prog Tech Sway Bar is great, love it on mine in tandem with the TB traction bar

Haven't looked into the traction bars yet. I feel like a good set of spring rates on coilovers and a sway bar put the corolla at a peak driving spot. Daily driveable and still backroad capable.

Cool review, i'm thinking about getting the one with e-awd, nice to see it can be fun!

The AWD doesn't make much since for me in my life, but I can see where it'd be useful to others. Spring for a SE if you want some creature comforts, but if you're OK with the basics, a LE will do just fine.

@@TougeSolo In Canada we get heated seat and heated steering wheel on the LE, so i have enough comfort! :)

I'd kill to have heated cloth seats again. Been many of year since having them. One of the reasons I went LE (vs SE) was for the cloth seats. Tired of leather/pleather. But do think the SE seats hold you in place better than the LE. Actually, just give me the SE/XSE seats with the same fabric as the LE. lol.

My 2024 Corolla Le hybrid AWD is on a ship coming from Japan. Are the front wheel drives made in the US

Mine is also a J vin car. I'm not sure if the US plant does Hybrids or not. Possibly not being as it uses the older Prius hybrid system and that was all made in Japan.

What about the economy? What does it do on mileage? How does it compare to the regular gas model? I don't give a s about tire brands, i wanna know how far it goes on a tank of fuel at highway speed. I sat through this and learned nothing i did not already know.

Well this isn't car and driver. But that is something I'll cover later. A cars handling is an important aspect to people and to me so it is something I'm going cover and point out it's plus and minus on exclusively. I'm don't make money doing these videos so I do what I want. Sorry you didn't like it but others have and will.
