I knew that going into it and was okay with it, find out later despite what the marketing material said if I had push to start I could have had remote start. Kinda odd because the ford maverick offers remote start on all trims even the ones with a key.
It’s a base model compact car, and some models in this segment still have a key. It’s only the base LE without push start. For a sub 23k HYBRID, I think it’s acceptable, this is the least expensive hybrid you can get in the US market now. I think the SE is the sweet spot in the lineup, the exterior is really nice.
@@Autounboxing Generally remote start only comes on smart key systems. I have never seen remote start on a non push start car unless it was added on, a separate fob, or the Maverick like you said.
I looked at one of these before getting my Civic and I'm still glad I got the Civic instead. The hubcaps on this car look rather bland compared to the ones on my 2019 Civic LX. But what I hated most about the Corolla were the vertical door handles inside the car. This is a really bad ergonomic design and I wish they didn't have them. The Corolla also seems much smaller than my Civic. Other than that, these cars are right around the same price and will probably last for quite a while.
How are the speakers in your LX? I really wanted one of them but decided with the Corolla because it had 6 speakers & a 60/40 rear seat on the base trim.
@@Autounboxing Mine only came with 4 speakers and a 160-watt radio, but they actually sound pretty good for factory speakers. And I'm thinking about putting new ones in the doors someday along with my sub-box in the trunk. I have two 12" MTX BlueThunder speakers in a box that I built for my '96 Civic and I'm sure they'll fit in my new Civic since the trunk is much larger. I don't have the 60/40 split on the rear seat, but I don't need that since I rarely ever pull it down. You can get that on the EX or better versions if you need it.
If you plan to keep your car for a long time, you won't be glad that you got the civic. Mechanically Toyota hybrids are more reliable mechanically than any other car with an ICE, due to the planetary gear set [eCVT] that Toyota hybrids use. There is less to go wrong mechanically on the Toyota, also it's far more efficient than the Honda, cheaper to maintain and use.
@@hedgehogthesonic3181 I got just over 42 mpg on my last tank full of gas, which isn't bad for a non-hybrid. And since my last Civic lasted for 270K miles, I'm expecting at least that many with this one, especially since I never drive this one in the winter. But we'll just wait and see.

Hi. I bought a 2022 LE. It doesn't come with heated side rear-view mirrors like my 2014 LE had. Does this have that? I hate that Toyota took that away, it's pretty important when the car is encased in ice, or even on really foggy mornings.
It doesn’t unless you add the convince package, I heard you can just buy mirrors online that are heated and replace them yourself. I put plastic bags on mine in the winter if I know it’s going to snow.
Thank you OP for the video. This reaffirmed that the Corolla hybrid is NOT for me despite wanting a basic commuter car. Definitely overkill for my taste. Annoyingly speaking, the L got discontinued
I've owned 3 Corollas in the past and nowadays i just find them old-fashoined, dull and boring to drive. That seat belt beeping I find so annoying too. I recently purchased a KIA Forte which to me feels much nicer and more fun to drive.
Thanks for the video. I like your video editing work. So do you recommend removing all the sirusxm stations from my favorites before the subscription expires? I don’t plan on renewing after the trial ends. The remote connect is a nice feature and should be available on your Corolla if the manufacturer says it’s available. But it’s another profit gouge for Toyota as it’s an annual subscription fee. Honestly, I rather forgo the remote connect and have a simple “walk away auto-lock” that Honda and other manufacturers would give you but Toyota refuses to put in their vehicles. Speaking of Honda, the lane keep assist (auto steering assist) is so much better than in Toyota. For one you don’t need to have dynamic radar cruise engaged for to come on and second, it’s much more effective. With Toyota’s even with steering assist, there’s not enough steering wheel movement and it would go over the lanes from time to time.
I had Sirius on my 19 Prius. I didnt like it and they gave me a hard time deleting my service. But I insisted. Then they offered $5 a mo for service.🤔 They made it so difficult, I wouldnt take for FREE. Just real pushy sales.

Some of the statements you made about your dealership tells me the dealer is not reasonable and not a good dealer. No dealer is allowed to require you to get ceramic coating. My son bought a brand new Impreza a year ago and the dealer tried to require this too. Sad part is my son works for a high end detail shop and does ceramic coating that is far superior to the stuff dealers install. That being said, the claim the dealer made that a ceramic coating on your windshield will prevent chips is very misleading. No coating whatsoever will prevent chips to glass or paint. All the coating does is make it so the water and grime will come off easier amkr it so your wipers don't work as hard (please note that when washing your car with a ceramic coating, you must dry it to prevent water spotting). Sorry that the dealer did this to you. This is one of those things that has brought a very bad rep to dealerships in recent years (in addition to major markups to prices of cars)
you buy this car for japanese quality and reliability the entertainment issue are not important the dealers are incompetent and larcenous the car should keep you from dealing withe them you made the right choice
I travel a ton for my own self owned business and have been using a business account I have with Hertz and Budget/Avis for monthly fleet rentals for about a decade now. Been great, no issues, but my great prices are about to end and they're going up substantially. I'm thinking about buying one of these to get the fuel savings and since it's dirt cheap I'll pay it off in about 2.5 years but I'll put about 160 to 170k miles on it in the 2.5 to 3 years. Does anyone have any experience with putting over 150k miles on these super fast like that? Do they do well with it? I can't find info on that sort of thing anywhere. I figure they should hold up well being used a ton very frequently as long as full synthetic is put in and maintenance schedule is followed. I don't need longevity, just 2.5 to 3 years then trade in for a new one.
Waiting on mine to come in next month for a commuter only ride. Found a dealer selling it to me for MSRP besides the taxes title fees, etc. No markup 👍
Congratulations! That’s awesome! Two add ons I would ask about if you can get it for the right price is a clear bra for the car(I already have 6 chips) & if they offer windshield insurance.

I've had a Corolla for 13 years (2003 to 2016), and although it was relatively inexpensive to maintain, it did break down (oil pressure sensor plug leak, and main manual transmission bearing failure, not to mention catalytic converter rust hole requiring an expensive replacement) and not under warranty which is way too short. Moreover, it was a cheap car in every sense of the word. Mine severely understeered and was riding very stiff, noisy interior, wind noise from the doors on the highway, noisy engine (sounded like a tractor at idle from brand new), and overall crappy car. How's your fuel economy?

Forgot to mention... NO PUSH BUTTON START
Thank goodness
Are you really complaining about no push button start? are you so weak that you can't turn a key? tf
I am shopping a corolla hybrid and they are over $30k
geez at that point i would just get a Tesla
Prius going for $40-50. So its better. AND not in such demand. Ppl want that new gen 5 Prius & demand exceeds supply.🤔
@@BigKWS It's not bad for a Civic, but people in the hybrid Corolla have managed to get 60 mpg, i have managed 60 to 70 mpg while driving to work on my 2012 Prius C. Let's hope it lasts, but if it has a CVT, or an automatic, it won't most likely get to 300,000 miles or possibly more, without needing a transmission, unlike many Toyota hybrids do even with the original transaxle fluid.
LE really needs the convenience package, otherwise SE or XLE are well equipped
I own a 2017 reg Toyota auris (corolla) had just over 2 years and covered 20 k miles with no problems at all serviced by my local Toyota dealer best car i have ever owned will certainly by a new model when i decided decide to update
How does this hybrid 2023 Corolla hybrid compare to a 2023 Corolla XSE hatchback with conventional gasoline engine 2.0 in all performance categories, ride and comfort, noise, isolation on bumpy roads, reliability, and cost of maintenance?🤔🤔🤔
Would you like a cookie too?
You believed, that a coating can protect your windshield from stone chips 😂😂
Who listens to the radio anymore?
🎉🎉❤super great for a first video 🎉🎉
Thank you so much! 💕
You can get the convenience package and add that on I think it is 1,200 added to the base LE.
Thank you OP for the video. This reaffirmed that the Corolla hybrid is NOT for me despite wanting a basic commuter car. Definitely overkill for my taste. Annoyingly speaking, the L got discontinued
@darkrulier true. Too bad this can’t be had NEW for $23k. I went with another car
@darkrulier I understand but I meant $23k out the door in California
I've owned 3 Corollas in the past and nowadays i just find them old-fashoined, dull and boring to drive. That seat belt beeping I find so annoying too. I recently purchased a KIA Forte which to me feels much nicer and more fun to drive.
Just find out 8 months later no Spare tire
LOUD ROAD NOISE = I WEAR EAR PLUGS EVERYTIME I DRIVE
I have a 2021 regular, and the car literally megaphones road noise.
Right there width you!, I am considering putting some sound deadening in the doors!
Prius has hood pad under hood. I don't think Corolla's have that. I wonder if a Prius or a Lexus would fit? I bet that would cut down noise.
@@riceburner4747 I can’t wait to sell my Corolla
@@robertmorgan2219 If you're just looking for transportation, by all means, Corolla. Not perfect, BUT dependable. I'd consider a hybrid Corolla Cross! 😲 In an AWD would be excellent in my rust belt area. I'm sorry u dont like yours, good luck on what u get. You've got to like it if you're making payments.👍
Excellent video….thanks for posting
Glad you enjoyed it
I just bought my 2023 Corolla LE hybrid about 3 weeks ago. One thing I noticed is that when the car slows down to 20mph I start to notice the loud electric motor sound. I don't know if anyone has the same issue.
That’s not an issue it required by law to make a sound under 20mph with only the electric motor on, over that speed wind noise is sufficiently loud enough
It's a speaker somewhere under front bumper (check parts diagram), if you don't like it you can remove it, probably.
I have one, here in Costa RIca we only get one version, here you cant get the AWD which really doesn´t matter as we do not have snow here... Mine comes with smart key, the big 7" screen, nice rims, synthetic leather seats. To be honest I love it, the only thing I do not like is that here the multimedia screen is different, it is older and I have issues connecting my iphone 14 pro, carplay doesn´t work, I´ll fix it with a carlink 5.0 device to make it work and also make it wireless. But hey, great car, I do around 800km per full tank which here is around $50.
New one we got don't have no key it's just push a button
so ur car doesn't have auto start and can't use that yota app to remote control it? or is it only on the SE trims? my 2022 LE does NOT have app remote access either which is a bummer
Love the look of this car , the design is great. Hard to get the sedan (saloon ) here in UK
Anything "required" by the dealerships is basically a lie anyone else reading this just tell them you don't want it and watch them panic 😂
You didn’t get the Premium Package?
Probably could of waited for it but I was waiting almost a year at that point.
🤔
I bought the LE Hybrid and a VW Tiguan. The Corolla is a huge gas saver but the Tiguan has more vroooom vroooom!!! 🤩
Does it tune to HD Radio on AM and FM?
Yes it does! Its really nice you can browse stations by genre too!
My 2023 toyota corolla hybrid makes an annoying noise when in EV. It is unbearable. Anyone else has this issue?
There is no requirement for windshield treatment. The fact that they forgot to do all that stuff afterward just shows they are rubbish dealers
you buy this car for japanese quality and reliability the entertainment issue are not important the dealers are incompetent and larcenous the car should keep you from dealing withe them you made the right choice
Minor issues.
I really want this car
Dealer cannot require you to get an add on
I travel a ton for my own self owned business and have been using a business account I have with Hertz and Budget/Avis for monthly fleet rentals for about a decade now.
We got same car except for door gaurd trims on side.
Yeah I don’t think they are going to protect anything, considering a lot of cars are taller
Quick question, how did you updated the horn?
Brand type
Thanks
Check out my other video!
I have the same car but no spare tire that's unacceptable
www.reddit.com/r/COROLLA/comments/12cx4kr/2023_corolla_hybrid_le_spare_tire_information/?
Check this out I’m about to do the same
I think it's the new hotness for new cars to not have a spare for "weight savings" aka we're not including a spare because we're poor
Yeah, still has one on the Camry hybrid though
It has to do with the TSS won’t read properly with uneven tires
Can you please provide the link for the horn? I want the same upgrade for my Corolla too😃
@@Autounboxing thank you!
Video is up now!
You should probably try to clean your car so there isn't any dirt etc lol.
My mantra is if one, yes ONE Toyota vehicle f***s up, then all Toyotas had f***ed up. Nevermore and again I will ever own a Toyota, due to my mom’s and my bad experience with Toyota’s product, less than stellar product.
Is the mpg estimates accurate in your experience? I drive uber so am very curious
With the warm weather I’m around 50mpg with 75%highway driving cold weather it drops to around 40-45mpg still best fuel economy of any car I ever owned!
Hey man, you should sue them if it didn't come with what's advertised
Great video btw! Quality and informing. I'll be purchasing exactly the same model and this helped a lot
Thank you! I looked into it, as much as it’s a pain point, it’s not really worth it to sue.
Are you sure it doesn’t have remote start with the key fob? You have to press it 3 times according to other TH-cam videos
It doesn’t :/
@Auto Unboxing remote start get aftermarket and also consider getting hood deflector, it will help with reducing your rock chips
Where is the car made?
Japan 🇯🇵
Nice video bro! Apart from the tint, did you pay MSRP or did you have to pay a dealer markup?
Most Toyota dealers in my area are not doing dealer mark ups, if I had to buy it again I would of went to performance Toyota in Reading, Pennsylvania.
@@Autounboxing I might go there too. I live in Dallas Texas and all the dealers here have huge markups. I would have to pay 30k out the door (including taxes and fees) for a 2023 Corolla LE gasoline model.
@@saddisthaman Thank you Haman! I'm thinking of buying a 2023 Mazda CX-30 or a 2023 Mazda 3 hatchback instead because I can get a $3000 discount which sounds better than paying full MSRP for a Corolla, what do you think?
@@braetonwilson4296 is it a hybrid? In either case, it's a Mazda. I personally would never buy it.
@@saddisthaman No it's not a hybrid. I don't want a hybrid. What's wrong with Mazda? Toyota and Mazda are partners and share factories together. In fact the Toyota Yaris was actually a Mazda 2 produced by Mazda.
Does the car have anything for lane assist or blind spot?
It has lane assist, on this trim it doesn’t have blind spot monitoring unless you upgrade to their convenience package.
As always, TOYOTA dealerships are the worst part of owning a Toyota.
That dealership is a lemon lol.

A Toyota corolla hybrid is the best deal on the market and in europa you can get them as wagons to!
A wagon would be so cool! The only people that fell wagons in the states are bmw/Mercedes & they are like $70,000!
They also sell chip vacuums so you can vacuum your car
You back seat is covered with hair
Good idea!
Change your Dealer, buddy. Save yourself unneeded hassle (and $'s).
Hi there, I still ask this question why people buy this CHEAP, JAPANESE, INFERIOR vehicle and still feel happy about it. I use 1999 Mercedes Benz C 280 V6,and I am still going to buy another one of good condition if I get it. I have never been a fun of anything Toyota in my entire life,I don't think I would.
Preference really, they are totally different vehicles, for me I liked the fuel economy, safety features like 7 standard airbags, automatic emergency breaking and I wanted Apple car play./hd radio I have owned older cars and they are a little bit of work and i have missed work to repair them. My last car was a 2006 and needed repairs here and there, plastic components would crack, alternator needed replaced etc.
With this car It’s common to not have to do anything besides tires/oil til 2033+. Some people get over 200k miles with their breaks.
I made a video about the stuff I liked check it out!
Anyone with mechanical experience should absolutely own a German car because they offer the best driving experience. Everyone else though?
Mercedes have their fair share of breakdowns. I've owned Camry's last one had 265, 000 miles. And now a 19 Prius WITH NO PROBLEMS.👍
Mercedez Benz? they are a money pit and a total junk vehicle at least the modern ones is.
@@jimmylabb5868 You can not call a car company for over 100 years a junk,Mey be you don't like them. But Mercedes Benz is beyond a junk

Well maybe the start button one has the remote on feature but man u should thank god my 2021 corolla cross doesnt even have a multimedia display🤣🤣🤣🤣 and it costs 28k jds which is almost 40k USD
Does your car have the ability to tell you the actual amount of miles that is put on the engine.Changing the oil when the actual engine mileage is one half what the odometer says is ridiculous.
No, but you only have to change it every 10,000 miles,so it’s not that bad.
@@Autounboxing What if you have a prius prime which goes about 50 km per charge and you just drive around town and the gasoline engine never gets going in yet you have to change the oil with zero miles on the gas engine.
@@jimjackson4256 I don’t know but I imagine it’s still 10,000miles just to make everything easy, that’s still 2x the duration compared to Toyotas from 5 years ago

How about cleaning your car? You’ll never have any dirt in those holes
That’s a good idea, didn’t think about that. Thanks!
That dealership sucks
Yeah! I went there 3 years ago & ended up running out of the place, had the most aggressive salesman try to sell me a corolla that I hated the color of and once I told him my credit was trash but I had enough cash to buy it, he was trying to convince my friend to co-sign a loan with me. Pretty awkward. Figured 3 years later it would be different, overalls it was a lot better until their response to the missing remote start then it just went downhill from there. What was your experience?
@@Autounboxing I had a similar experience at my local Toyota dealership. They are sharks and very good at what they do.
@@marktuyet yeah it’s kinda crazy, on one end this could be the last car I buy at a dealer because the market is shifting to direct to consumer. Kinda funny because I have some friends that would totally buy new cars every 3 years but drive their cars to the ground because they hate the dealer experience.
2023 hybrid. No smart key🤦♂️
Nice dog hair
I've had a Corolla for 13 years (2003 to 2016), and although it was relatively inexpensive to maintain, it did break down (oil pressure sensor plug leak, and main manual transmission bearing failure, not to mention catalytic converter rust hole requiring an expensive replacement) and not under warranty which is way too short. Moreover, it was a cheap car in every sense of the word. Mine severely understeered and was riding very stiff, noisy interior, wind noise from the doors on the highway, noisy engine (sounded like a tractor at idle from brand new), and overall crappy car. The only things going for it were the relatively good fuel economy and low maintenance costs. But everything else was a disappointment. Nevermore a Corolla for me.
I had a Ford 250 catch fire and burn up when it was 2 weeks old.
you shouldn't of got a LE....
I would have had these issues on any trim of the Corolla
Yo, lowkey, the one we get in the eu is better
How so?
@@Autounboxing Well we get a spare tyre, the cockpit is fully digital and we get all the functions of the toyota app and the infotainment screen is bigger. All of this comes as standart so it doesn't matter whether you get an Executive or the luxuty plus. We also get 10 years warranty, which could be the seme for you. I don't know, but I don't get why the make the same car in different ways for the dfferent countries, for example in the UK you can't get the sedan. It also looks different here in the eu.
I not a you tuber but congratulations you hot over 10000 views 🎉

Just a bad dealership
I am thinking of a Corolla LE possibly a hybrid as a first car, not sure yet, but seems like the dealer you did business with shittiest of shitheads...
A few of your complains aren’t so much with the car itself, but more to do with level of the service for maintenance, your lack of a full understanding of the actual features of the car and falling for an add-on windshield product scam.
