Facts! Thanks!!! Wait...what about the charging dock and the USB ports? I'm not too fond of the charging dock and what type of charger cables does it require?
Recently bought a Corolla Hybrid LE AWD (to replace a very old Camry) and this is incredibly useful in helping me learn about all the buttons/features. I appreciate your taking the time to provide this resource.
This is outstanding. It's some of the best work I've seen on TH-cam, thoroughly covering the basics of this car. Thank you so much for your assistance with my new 2024 Corolla Hybrid.
Thank you very much, from a Neanderthal boomer your tutorial is the best I have seen, believe me, I had to trawl through a bunch of videos until I found your masterpiece. Having driven pre-digital trucks all my life, I have come to realise that a large percentage of drivers are either deaf, dumb, blind or stupid, the radar distance and lane control and all the other wonders are like something out of Startrek. Thanks again, I have just subscribed. 😁
My experience tells me all other drivers are deaf, dumb, blind and stupid, which is what I tell my wife so that she will really work on paying attention
Wow! This is the first time I’ve seen a video from you. You are thorough and very good at providing instructions. I feel like I just took a college course. Toyology 101 👍👍👍
Love this video Brian - Just got a 2024 Corolla SE and it looks practically identical to the hybrid. Coming from using a 2009 Corolla LE for years, to this, it felt overwhelming at first with all of the digital info/new buttons. Your video made this adjustment easy!! Appreciate you being so dilligent.
Killer video my friend, but, and it's a big but, I'll get my wife to watch it a thousand times. Why ? Because I brought the car home yesterday and after driving her 2012 Nissan Leaf for the last 9 years, she's afraid to drive her new 2025 Corolla SE Hybrid. It's okay, we'll get her there, it's just going to take some practice with me not screaming at her, which I'm not good at and need to work on. I scream really loud when I think I'm about to maybe die. Thanks again, you do an amazing service for people and I for one, truly appreciate it.
I really like your videos, Brian. I'm replacing my 13 y.o. Hyundai with the Canadian spec. of the black hybrid SE in one of your other videos ( black & red interior and digital instruments instead of analog). When it gets delivered is anybody's guess but at least the process's been started. I can see from this tutorial that there will be a learning curve involved to figure out all the features, functions and customization options but this video will also be a big help with that. Thanks!
Thank for such an excellent video clearly explaining many things especially regarding MID information which seemed intimidating but not as much now. I'm in Australia so some small differences. One commenter asked about how to close the rear view mirrors and you recomend just pushing the mirrors whereas we have a button next to mirror adjustment button on the door especially for folding and extending the mirrors. Maybe the manufacturers decided Aussies were too lazy to push🤣 or extreme weather situations like tommorow it's expected to be 110 F here. Thanks again and now I'll watch the screen tutorial.
On the rear seat reminder and a little story, My 2007 Sienna just blew a second transmission so I am done. I am currently driving a company truck that has the rear seat reminder feature (Chevy Silverado) and my first thought when I saw that was "Damn, I wish my van had that." I've lost count how many times I've stopped on the way home, got groceries, got home, and went immediately inside and cursed myself for forgetting the groceries. I am a bit of a dumbass so I love the feature. Pretty sure I am getting a Corolla Hybrid.
Thank you for this comprehensive video explaining the Corolla hybrid AWD. You have done a fine job and this is an incredible resource. I have an SE AWD on order. I like how Toyota understands that we like to tailor the vehicle to our preferences, particularly when it comes to steering and brakes. I'll be interested to hear a more technical explanation of the three modes, Sport, Normal and Eco. How much do they actually change the performance and MPG?
That's good to know, thanks. I have a test loop (~10 miles) that's pretty good, long uphill, twisty and freeway. After I have the car I think I'll try all three modes driving consistently as possible. I know the AUDI A3 quattro sport mode just downshifts keeping the revs up and wastes fuel. There is no performance advantage, that is accelerator determined in both modes, so sport is pointless except for the sound.@@brianruperti
Ah, more output from the electric motors, excellent! Maybe the balance where the gas engine is used alone is shifted up the rev range a bit. So I have seen various descriptions of the hybrid and I am aware every manufacturer has there own take. I believe the Corolla has one rear motor for driving the rear wheels only when necessary (slippery conditions). I saw an animation that implied the ABS is used to limit the slip on the rear wheels individually. The front has either one or two electric motors? Are the front wheels partially mechanically shaft driven directly by the gas engine, or electrically driven by motors? The gas engine can drive the motors directly. @@brianruperti
@davids9960 great questions. I have never been asked that. To my current knowledge, the front wheels are direct drive and rear wheels are electric motor powered. But when the engine is off, the front electric motor drives the front wheels. That’s all I know sorry!
The auto high beams - you said that you don't have to push the lever forward, but you need to in order to turn them on. The auto beam automatically turns off, but the lever needs to be in the 'on' position.
Correct. So leave the lights in auto, and press the auto high beam button. Now they’re active and go on and off. To bypass the auto highbeams, you’d push the stalk forward.
Thank you for the informative video. I recently joined the Toyota family. My question is, does the new vehicle come with extra tool in the trunk? I only see an emergency tire repair kit.
With only a tire repair kit, tools wouldn’t be included because you don’t have to take the wheel off to fix the tire. However, I have seen with and without tools so I am not 100% on the justification from Toyota as to when they get them. I do suggest sourcing the tools if you intend on carrying a spare. Otherwise, your roadside assistance has the tools needed swap tires.
How do I increase mileage just bought one and it gave us 614 miles with a full tank off the lot gassed up for the first time gave me 549 with 50 bucks and only gave me 490 with 40 bucks today it indicates the tank is full should I just keep adding more gas even after it shows it’s full or should I take it back to Toyota hope someone can help thank you great content btw learned a lot of new things about it !👍
I bought a 2024 Corolla LE gas model. I don't see the Tire Pressure screen in the Multi-Information Display under the Vehicle Information menu. The only screen I have in that menu is the Trip Distance. Any idea why?
My Toyota app says Tire Pressure N/A, and in the settings menu under VehicleSettings, I don’t see the TPWS Setting listed under DRCC. Apparently, in Canada, we don’t seem to have TPMS. I had TPMS in my 2009 Corolla CE, so it’s surprising to see it missing in this model.
I have a 2024 Corolla hybrid awd LE. After I have been driving at night and I turn off power why don't the headlights go out? If I am not exiting the car the headlights just stay on. I have to turn the switch to DRL OFF and back to Auto to get them to go off. Is this normal?
This is intentional. The lights stay on for 60 seconds to light up your walking area so you can see where you’re walking at night. Simply press the lock button on the key fob two times and the lights will shut off immediately. You can adjust how long these lights stay on in the settings.
Thanks a lot for your video! Any clue how I can change the MyToyota app units from imperial (mi) to metric (km)? There is no option in the app and I have already tried changing regions in my mobile phone, even though I am in Greece already which uses km, but no luck.

Do these new corollas have auto on/off engine at the light? Or they removed it
Hybrids don’t have that feature because the car stays on (as an electric car) when the vehicle stops. Gas models have the feature and the car actually turns off.
Because remember, a gas car is off when the engine is off. A hybrid car is not off when the engine is off.
Is the le version more comfortable to ride than the se version
Not necessarily because the SE has upgraded seats. Bumps hit a dash harder but the seats are way nicer than the LE.
