Well, this episode of Shogun ended with a bang. I can't imagine his father being too happy about this. I'm glad Blackthorne got to pillow with someone finally. patreon.com/Am...
7:42 I knew why "guns are different" the first time I saw this episode, but yours is the first reaction I've seen where someone said it. Nice job. (Of course, your lovely accent puts you in a part of the USA--I'm guessing Texas--where the words "shall not be infringed" are held in high regard, so it's not really much of a surprise that you'd be the one making that observation.) 8:20 ...and here, we see one of many instances throughout this series of Anjin demonstrating that the phrase "swear like a sailor" exists for a reason. :p
Nagakado just feels disrespected by everyone so he listened to Omi and made a move that he was proud of. The dish Blackthorne is eating is fermented soybean, very much an acquired taste.
Thirty-nine years after this story, and 23 years after the Shogun's death, his successor issued a decree of seclusion, ordering all foreigners except Dutch merchants, their wives, children and their children out of Japan. It is likely that Anjin's children were also deported at that time.
5:01 -sama and -domo are like Lord or Lady. -san is like Mr, Mrs, or Ms. -kun and -chan are like pet names for kids or loved ones (kinda like -baby or sweetie in the US)
There are four main types of honorifics in Japanese always following the first or last name. Sama is the most formal of them all. Then come San, Kun and Chan. The gardener is a person of very low social rank and therefore does not get Sama. Southern accent, that's what I assumed from the way you pronounce "time" and the way you finish sentences. English is not my mother tongue and I'm learning others, it's all a matter of will and perseverance.
I had left my message in the previous video and you have not responded to me as if I did not exist. You responded to the other messages except my message as if my messages did not exist 😞
It's a bit parasocial to expect replies. It's nice when TH-cam interact with their audience but you shouldn't expect it or be somehow slighted because they didnt reply

I believe the food was fermented soybeans which are supposed to be slimy and stinky.
